Chapter 312 - Chapter 312: The Next Stage

Shin was now faced with a difficult decision.

Even with the Munch-MunchFruit, which gave him a much higher capacity for absorbing abilities than ordinary people, there were still limits to how much his body could handle. Especially when it came to powerful bloodlines like that of the Kryptonians.

Their genetics were far beyond anything he had encountered before, making the process of integration incredibly difficult.

"So, I have to abandon some bloodline abilities to fully integrate Kryptonian DNA?"

"And unlike in the pirate world, where I could modify my body structure to enhance myself, Kryptonian DNA is fundamentally different. It can't be altered like that—it can only be absorbed and adapted."

The reason this worked so well in the pirate world was that, despite variations in physical structure, all pirates were still fundamentally human. Their genetic differences weren't too drastic.

But Kryptonians? They were practically an entirely different species compared to humans.

And right now, Shin's Munch-Munch Fruit hadn't evolved to the point where he could rewrite his own genetic code.

If he could reach that level, he wouldn't even need Kryptonian DNA—he could simply modify his genes into godhood on his own.

Even with all the Kryptonian biological samples he had collected, at most, he could absorb enough to make himself one-quarter Kryptonian.

Meaning? At best, he would reach Wonder Woman's level—still weaker than a pure Kryptonian like Superman.

Of course, even at one-quarter Kryptonian, his raw strength and speed would far surpass what he currently possessed. Especially in terms of reaction speed.

While combatants from the Naruto and One Piece worlds could train their reflexes to incredible levels, their limits were still far below the speed of light. Even the speed of sound was considered top-tier in those worlds.

Take Kizaru, for example. He always asked, "Have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?"

But in reality, Kizaru's "light-speed kick" was just a "fast" attack, like a laser cannon. His reaction speed and physical movement weren't actually at the speed of light—otherwise, he could wipe out the entire pirate world in mere seconds.

Compare that to someone like The Flash—who, when fully utilizing the Speed Force, could literally evacuate an entire city in less than a second. That was real light-speed movement.

In DC comics, both Superman and Wonder Woman were capable of surpassing the speed of light in combat. Even in the more grounded movie versions, Superman could easily fight at speeds nearly a thousand times the speed of sound.

Wonder Woman's reactions were slower in comparison, but still around a hundred times the speed of sound.

As for Shin? While he could punch at hundreds of times the speed of sound, his reaction speed wasn't anywhere near that level.

Right now, he could adapt to battles up to ten times the speed of sound—but against someone like Superman, he wouldn't even be able to process what was happening before getting hit multiple times.

Realizing this, Shin finally made up his mind. He needed to shed some of his old abilities. He began removing the weaker bloodline limits he had acquired from the Naruto world. The only bloodline ability he kept was Kamui, his time-space jutsu. Everything else—such as the Sage Body—was discarded.

Instead, he kept only the pure Otsutsuki bloodline, which granted him immense chakra reserves and perfect chakra control. In theory, abilities like Sharingan, Wood Release, or Shikotsumyaku (Dead Bone Pulse) were all derived from the Otsutsuki lineage.

However, after centuries of evolution, these abilities had deviated significantly from their Otsutsuki origins. For example, the original Otsutsuki clan never used Susanoo or Wood Release, nor did they have the Sage Body in the way shinobi did. These altered abilities took up valuable space in Shin's genetic structure. And since they weren't pure bloodlines, they actually took up more capacity than the original Otsutsuki genetics.

Shin made his final decision.

"The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan that contains Kotoamatsukami… I won't be able to use them anymore. But it doesn't matter—my physical strength will compensate for that loss, and I can still use standard Genjutsu."

Even though Kotoamatsukami was a powerful mind-control technique, it was still just a derivative of the Mangekyō Sharingan. Even if his base power increased, Kotoamatsukami's effectiveness wouldn't scale, making it useless against enemies of his level. And for dealing with ordinary people, his standard Genjutsu were more than enough.

In the end, Shin only kept: The pure Otsutsuki bloodline, some of the Rinnegan abilities, specifically the parts that contain the gravity manipulation jutsu.

Everything else? Gone.

This left just enough space in his body to properly integrate Kryptonian DNA.

"That should do it… but why don't I feel anything?"

Despite absorbing part of the Kryptonian bloodline, Shin didn't feel any immediate boost in power.

He glanced out at the dark sky and suddenly remembered.

"Right… Kryptonians only activate their abilities under a yellow sun."

Unable to sleep, Shin lay in bed, browsing through various Kryptonian technologies stored in his biochip.

Then—

As the first rays of morning sunlight hit his skin, he felt it. A surge of power erupted within him, like a spring bursting to life. His entire body began rapidly filling with energy.

"This is insane… I only absorbed one-quarter of the Kryptonian bloodline, and my strength is already skyrocketing."

Judging by the rate of improvement, he estimated that he could double his strength and speed in just one day.

"If it keeps increasing like this, wouldn't my power be over 300 times stronger in a year?"

Of course, Shin knew it wouldn't be that simple.

In the original movie, General Zod absorbed yellow sun energy for only a short time before nearly matching Superman—who had spent his entire life under the sun.

Did that mean Zod was hundreds of thousands of times stronger than Superman? Obviously not.

Kryptonian power growth had an initial "burst" period—where strength skyrocketed rapidly—but after reaching a certain threshold, the growth slowed down significantly.

It was like filling a pond with water—at first, the water level rises quickly, but after a while, it takes longer to fill deeper layers.

Even so…

Shin had just stepped into a whole new level of power.
