Chapter 407: The Evil Eye Shatters the Array
The tremendous explosion in the sky unleashed chaotic shockwaves that even Nine-Origin Nirvana Realm experts couldn't withstand, forcing them to retreat. Even so, a few slower individuals were caught in the blast, barely surviving after unleashing their full energy to shield themselves. This level of battle between two young disciples seemed unreal, as if two senior sect leaders were waging war instead.

In the sky above, the two combatants collided, sending them both plummeting like dark streaks across the sky. Lin Langtian's Crimson Bird Bone Wings flared out to steady himself after retreating hundreds of meters. His face was slightly pale as he glanced at Gengtian in the distance.
Gengtian, in far worse shape, was battered, with torn robes and bleeding wounds across his body, showing clear signs of severe injuries. The clash of the demonic sword and the black spear had left Lin Langtian victorious once again.
This surprising turn drew gasps from the crowd; even wielding a Pure Yuan Treasure, Gengtian was still on the losing side. Lin Langtian's power was terrifying.
"Looks like your Pure Yuan Treasure didn't bring you the victory you wanted," Lin Langtian remarked, looking at the badly injured Gengtian with a mocking smile.
"Ugh…" Gengtian coughed up blood and looked at Lin Langtian, a chill running down his spine. He couldn't have imagined that Lin Langtian would be so formidable, even neutralizing the power of his Pure Yuan Treasure.
Even Shengxuan Realm experts would have struggled to break through that attack, yet Lin Langtian had prevailed. But as the number-one genius of the Western Profound Domain, Gengtian wasn't ready to admit defeat so easily.
"Don't get too cocky, Lin Langtian. I haven't lost yet!" Gengtian's eyes burned with hatred as he snarled hoarsely at Lin Langtian. Then, turning to the disciples below, he roared:
"All Tianxuan Sect disciples, form the array!"
"Yes!"
At Gengtian's command, the Tianxuan Sect disciples instantly responded, gazing menacingly at Lin Langtian as they swiftly formed the array. Massive waves of yuan energy filled the air, crackling with power.
Gengtian waved his sleeve, and the Minor Heavenly Sealing Array hovered above the disciples, drawing in their yuan energy. As the array absorbed their combined strength, intricate patterns glowed brightly on the array, forming a shield of light that surrounded the Tianxuan Sect disciples in a powerful defense.
"Let's see you break through this!" sneered Nalan from within the array, casting a menacing look at Lin Langtian. "Lin Langtian, keep up your attitude now! Once we leave the Demonic Abyss Domain, you'd better watch your back in the Western Profound Domain, because our Tianxuan Sect's elders will be eager to 'train' with you."
High above, Gengtian looked at the defensive barrier with a savage glint in his eye. He descended into the protection of the array, then turned a deadly glare to Lin Langtian.
"Lin Langtian, you may have repelled my attacks, but the true strength of the Minor Heavenly Sealing Array lies in its defense. You'll be the one to lose here!"
Lin Langtian narrowed his eyes at the sudden defensive shift, then smirked coldly. "Relying on sheer numbers, huh? If you had any real strength, you'd have those disciples stand down and let me break through your pathetic shell."
Gengtian's face turned dark at the taunt, but recalling Lin Langtian's earlier power, he knew he wouldn't survive without the support of his disciples. He grunted, abandoning any pretense of honor.
"Victory decides honor, defeat brings shame. Don't you know that?" Gengtian retorted. "Besides, your Fire Division is here, too. I'll even allow them to join in if they dare!"
Hearing this, Song Yun began to approach, but Lin Langtian motioned for him to step back. Lin Langtian understood that this defensive formation was anchored by the Pure Yuan Treasure Minor Heavenly Sealing Array and powered by the strength of over 500 Tianxuan Sect disciples. Even a Shengxuan Realm expert would find it difficult to breach. Allowing the Fire Division to attack would only be futile.
Gengtian misread this as a sign of retreat and sneered, "Didn't I tell you that you're no match for the Tianxuan Sect? With this defensive array in place, we are invincible. Surrender now and save yourself the effort."
"Oh?" Lin Langtian's eyes gleamed with a dark edge. "Do you really think I can't break your little shell?"
"Give it a shot if you think you can!" Gengtian mocked, convinced that Lin Langtian wouldn't be able to penetrate their barrier. The formation, empowered by the array and over 500 elite Tianxuan Sect disciples, would be unbeatable.
"Very well. Then let's give it a try. But the cost will be the lives of over 500 Tianxuan Sect disciples."
With a malicious grin, Lin Langtian rose into the air and positioned himself in front of the formation. He had yet to reveal his ultimate trump card, and this was the perfect chance to unleash its power.
Seeing Lin Langtian's serious expression, Gengtian felt a flash of unease. Still, he dismissed it—Lin Langtian was powerful, but he wasn't a god.
"Form the shield!" Gengtian ordered sharply.
At his command, all the Tianxuan Sect disciples poured their yuan energy into the formation once again. Blinding light surged from the array, and the yuan energy fused into a gigantic, thousand-foot-wide shield above them.
The shield looked simple, yet radiated immense power. Even Shengxuan Realm Peak experts would struggle to break it.
As Lin Langtian gazed at the immense yuan-power shield before him, the surrounding onlookers watched with anticipation, eager to see if he was simply boasting or truly capable of shattering the seemingly impregnable shield.
In the sky, Lin Langtian's eyes narrowed, and as he stared at the massive barrier, a fierce gleam flashed in his gaze. Taking a deep breath, he began rapidly forming a series of hand seals, his movements swift and precise.
At the center of his brow, a dark line pulsed, slowly splitting open to reveal a sinister, mysterious third eye—an "evil eye" emanating a dark and eerie energy. Gengtian, catching sight of this demonic third eye, felt a sudden chill creep into his heart.
Lin Langtian's hand seals changed again, and strange lines of blood-red light seeped from the evil eye at his brow. A trace of sinister energy oozed out, and a terrifying, bestial roar seemed to echo across the heavens, a sound as if from a different realm entirely.
"Demonic Evil Eye—Summon the Beast!"
Roar!
A torrent of dark energy surged from the evil eye on Lin Langtian's forehead, spreading across the sky like storm clouds that blocked out the sun and cast everything into shadow. Waves of eerie energy filled the air, chilling and oppressive. Somewhere within, the roar grew louder, echoing in pulses.
The sight left the crowd below with wide eyes and jaws dropped, unable to tear their gaze from the ominous scene unfolding overhead. Dark clouds loomed, swirling ominously around Lin Langtian, who aimed a sudden beam of blood-red light from his third eye into the very center of the gathering storm.
Boom!
As the blood-red light shot into the black clouds, they began to churn violently, forming a massive vortex that radiated an almost otherworldly energy, one that seemed to stretch into another dimension. Shadows flickered within the vortex, massive and indistinct.
"You can't fool me with theatrics—no matter how bizarre your tricks, you're still only at the minor Shengxuan realm!" Gengtian sneered coldly at the dark clouds above Lin Langtian's head, but he couldn't shake the weight pressing on his chest. The oppressive feeling radiating from the clouds was undeniable.
Ignoring Gengtian's bravado, Lin Langtian focused intently, his hand seals flashing faster. In response, the vortex in the clouds ripped open, and from it, a gigantic, ominous silhouette began to emerge, dark and twisted, shrouding the sky like an ancient evil beast summoned from another realm.
As the creature fully materialized, gasps and shocked murmurs filled the air. Even Ling Qingzhu's usually composed expression faltered as she stared at the beast in astonishment.
"How did Lin Langtian… do this?" she murmured in disbelief, her gaze fixed on the sinister eye at Lin Langtian's brow, which was summoning this monstrous force.
Not only were the onlookers stunned, but even Lin Langtian was momentarily taken aback by the sheer power of his evil eye. He hadn't anticipated that merely answering its call would summon such a monstrous creature.
The enormous beast coiled in the sky, a single giant eye shut tight. An aura of annihilation radiated from its massive form. The intensity of this power left those below trembling, and they couldn't shake the feeling that the eye, even while closed, harbored devastating energy.
As the eye of the beast slowly opened, the world was filled with a dense, frenzied energy. A wave of malevolent power surged outward. Then, in one quick burst, a beam of pure black energy shot from the eye of the beast, absorbing all the dark energy around it as it streaked toward the massive yuan shield.
Boom!
At the moment of impact, the world seemed to fall silent, and a dazzling explosion of energy erupted like a deadly firework. The powerful wave of destruction sent a tremor across the entire battlefield, pulverizing nearby mountaintops and sending some of those close by reeling backward, blood spurting from their mouths as they scrambled to retreat.
Lin Langtian staggered back, the force of the shockwave reverberating through him. Although he braced himself with a flaming shield of yuan energy, the impact rattled him to his core, leaving his arm numb.
As the other Tianxuan Sect disciples stared at the scene in disbelief, Gengtian's expression finally shifted, his pupils constricting in horror. He could hardly comprehend how Lin Langtian, a mere minor Shengxuan expert, could unleash such overwhelming force.
"Look out!" Gengtian's voice cracked as he saw the once-impenetrable yuan shield flicker and start to dim.
Cracks spidered across the shield's surface, spreading wider and wider.
Boom!
As Lin Langtian steadied himself, he narrowed his eyes on the trembling shield and intoned coldly, "Break!"
With his final word, the destructive energy surged to its peak, and the Tianxuan Sect disciples gasped in fear as the yuan shield shattered, collapsing into fragments.
The Tianxuan Sect's last line of defense… was obliterated.
