"M-Milady, I don't know what you're talking about…" Hattie denied pain pulsing through her body.
"Yes, Your Majesty, Lady Hattie is telling the truth. We haven't seen nor touched Milady. Perhaps this, your memory is foggy from your injury," Nylah suggested, trying to convince him.
He examined Hattie's clothing, staring at the engagement tiara in her hair.
"What are you wearing," Ansel questioned, seething.
Hattie looked down at her clothing, her body starting to shake.
"I-I, I-I…"
"You dare to disrespect Milady by stealing her clothes? Do you think you're worthy of wearing such precious fabrics and jewels," Ansel stormed, interrupting her, his gaze chilling the room.
"N-No," Hattie stammered, "I-I didn't mean any disrespect… I was given these clothes upon asking for new clothing… Why had I known these were Milady's I never would've put them on."
