Chapter 727 - Chapter 724

Ron looked over the list.

The first was called the Mad Magician.

Suspected to be a Transmutation-type, with an exact ability unknown—a particularly troublesome Spirit. After reading this entry, Ron dismissed the idea of making him his primary target.

The second was known as Lord Terror.

His ability was believed to involve controlling cockroaches, though it was uncertain whether they were real or Conjured.

Ron's brow shifted slightly.

If they weren't real cockroaches, then his power would resemble that of the Rotten Life Blade—specializing in large-scale swarm attacks. Ron could handle that. Natsu's large-scale attack capabilities were no less impressive. Moreover, people who specialized in that kind of offense were generally better at drawn-out battles—and endurance fights were one of Ron's greatest strengths.

The third was called Judge Prince.

Ability unknown. Not worth pursuing.

The fourth, King of Flies, could devour anything, regardless of what it was. He had virtually no blind spots—no matter the angle, he could see, and he was extremely agile.

The fifth, Sea Dragon King.

From the information given, Ron believed this was the one responsible for the events on the second night of the anomaly.

The sixth, Lord of Gold.

Suspected to be an Enhancement-type, capable of transforming into an enormous golden giant.

The seventh, the Witch of Sound.

Her voice was her ability, something ordinary Nen users would have great difficulty defending against.

Ron analyzed each Killer Spirit in turn. Before long, he made his decision.

"My kill targets will be the Witch of Sound and Lord Terror."

"Confirmed?"

"Confirmed."

"All right, then I'll be looking forward to it. I believe a member of the Zoldyck family will never disappoint me."

.

Night fell.

Ron's group appeared in the heart of the city.

"Ponzu."

"Yes, Captain."

At her mental command, hundreds of bees swarmed from her chest.

"Honeybee Radar."

A radar appeared in Ponzu's hand. The bees flew out toward different districts of the city, gathering intelligence and feeding the data back to the radar, which Ponzu then passed to Ron.

At the same time, Chii hacked into the city's surveillance systems. With both efforts working in parallel, intelligence gathering was as secure as possible. Nina also possessed an information-related ability, but this was not her area of expertise, so she took no part in the operation.

Standing beside Ron was Shizuku.

Ron's team was currently split into several groups. Misty and Nina were together, as were Machi and Elita. Ponzu and Shizuku formed another pair. Ron moved as a separate unit, though at the moment he was alongside Ponzu and Shizuku.

As darkness deepened, the Spirits began their hunt. Many ordinary people fell under their influence.

High above in the church, Lawrence looked out with a grim expression.

"The Millennium Catastrophe… how strong will these things prove to be? I hope Ron can help the Church break the stalemate. If we can survive this disaster, one piece of the Dark Sonata is of little consequence. After all…"

His gaze shifted toward where the United States of Saheerta would have been.

"That plan has already begun. Humanity will once again launch the exploration ship bound for the Dark Continent. And this time, the voyage will be far more successful than before. Humanity's lifespan limit has already increased."

.......

Ponzu glanced at the radar, where red dots had appeared, and turned to Ron.

"Captain, we've found them."

"Give me the approximate locations."

"Yes."

Once Ron had the positions, he relayed them to Chii. She stopped monitoring the entire city and focused her attention entirely on the coordinates Ponzu had provided. Almost immediately, she found something.

"First, we move on Lord Terror's position," Ron said, looking at Ponzu and Shizuku. "I'll go ahead. You two link up with the others and head in that direction, but don't get too close. Observe the situation carefully—the target is strange."

Ponzu and Shizuku exchanged a look and nodded.

"Yes, Captain."

Ron's figure blurred and vanished, reappearing at Lord Terror's location. Many ordinary people there were already under the enemy's influence.

One after another, they walked out of their homes with cockroaches crawling over their bodies, their minds completely gone—as though controlled entirely by the insects. They killed indiscriminately, deliberately spilling their victims blood, until the stench in the air was almost thick enough to taste.

Ron's gaze swept the area until a vague, flickering form came into view. This was the source behind the actions of those civilians: Lord Terror, one of the Spirits.

When Ron looked at him, Lord Terror also turned his attention to Ron, surprise in his expression—perhaps because Ron lacked the aura of the Church's clergy.

Ron didn't care.

"Six-Harmony Sphere—Lightning Nen Blast!"

A massive sphere of crackling lightning appeared in his hand. The attack struck out before his body even moved, streaking toward Lord Terror.

The Spirit did not dodge. With a thought, he sent forth a swarm of cockroaches to meet the lightning head-on. They exploded into powder on contact, stopping the blast without harming him.

A nearby civilian suddenly froze.

Bang!

The body burst apart, and a torrent of cockroaches poured out to replenish those Lord Terror had just lost.

So they could serve that function as well.

It meant these civilians were no longer truly alive. And beings that weren't alive could be killed without hesitation.

A card appeared in Ron's hand.

"Kill the humans parasitized by cockroaches—stop their spread!"

If Lord Terror had an endless supply of civilians to use, then even Ron's endurance would eventually be worn down. But he wasn't alone. Lord Terror himself would be Ron's responsibility. The parasitized civilians could be left to the others.

"Natsu! Uchiha Sasuke—go!"
