Chapter 25 - Lessons from an Avenger

Later in the night, after the big fight at the mall, the Loud Siblings were all safe and sound in their home.

After everything, the ones who were at the mall opted to sit around the couch, tuning into the TV, and a report from J Jonah Jameson.

"This town used to be so quiet, peaceful too," Jameson said. "The fact that Spider-Man and Kraven chose to flex their macho muscles in a mall full of innocents is absolutely horrendous. This town may be called 'Royal Woods', but perhaps these two should focus on the 'Royal' part over the 'Woods'. This is a civilization for humans, not wild animals. Kraven has been detained, but that menace Spider-Man is still out there, further disgracing this town. This is J Jonah Jameson, signing off."

"You freaking suck..." Lincoln mentally insulted.

"You know what I miss?" Lola asked. "A time when Royal Woods wasn't hit with so many superhero battles. Those were simple times."

"Simple? We've had wacky adventures even before Spider-Man," Luan said.

"Yeah, but those were more lighthearted," Lola said. "Ever since Spider-Man came to Royal Woods, it's just been so hectic."

"To be fair, the first time we dealt with hectic stuff like this was in Loch Loud rather than here," Luna said.

"That's in Scotland, it doesn't count," Lola said. "If Spider-Man wants a wacky adventure, then he can go to Loch Loud for that."

"Would have been nice to have him around when Morag attacked us with a dragon," Luan said.

"I'm just tired of hearing about Spider-Man all the dang time," Lynn said.

"It's so irritating," Leni said.

"I swear, it's like they're always going to hate Spider-Man," Lincoln lamented.

"You're all being way too harsh, again," Lana said. "Ever think that Spider-Man's just trying to be a nice guy?"

"That's fine, he can be a nice guy somewhere else," Lola said.

"Far away from here," Leni said.

Lana grumbled in annoyance, "Well maybe people like him more than they like any of you!? Ever think about that!?"

"Whoa, that's a bit uncalled for, Lans," Lynn said.

"You can't deny it. You're always annoying people, Lynn," Lana said. "At least Spider-Man tries to be good for our community. In fact, I'm willing to bet behind that costume is a really nice boy with a family of his own. It would sure suck if that family showed him the same disrespect you're showing him now."

"Imagine how bad he'd have to be if his own family can't stand him," Lynn said, almost in a joking manner.

"Something you two can relate on," Lana said.

Lynn furrowed her brow at her younger sister, "You're really starting to tick me off. Am I gonna have to give you a knuckle sandwich?"

"Easy Lynn, Lana's seven years younger than you," Lincoln said.

"Want one in her place then?" Lynn warned, cracking her knuckles.

"Back off Lynn," Luna warned. "Otherwise I'll cream ya myself."

"I'd like to see you try," Lynn said, holding her fists out.

"Okay that's enough, now," Leni said. "No more fighting."

"Seriously, it's not worth it," Luan said.

"Whatever, I'm heading off," Lynn said, making her leave.

Lanna grumbled in annoyance, "I hate the way she talks trash about Spider-Man. It's like she forgot that he saved me, Lily and some other kids.:

"Think that's why she's jealous?" Luna suggested. "She wanted to play hero and that got taken from her by Spider-Man."

"Seems like a silly thing to get jealous over," Luan said. "Would Lynn even have cared enough to save the other kids?"

"I think she would have," Lincoln insisted. "Lynn's a lot nicer than she acts."

"Yeah but you're better at seeing the goodness in Lynn than the rest of us," Luan said. "Which is ironic since she bullies you the most."

"Lynn's not really a bully, she just has a weird way of showing affection," Lincoln said. "It's not pleasant but I just don't see her as a mean sister."

"You got too good of a heart bro," Luna said. "Most of the time at least."

"Well I guess I'm not perfect," Lincoln said. "Still more perfect than the rest of you though."

"Want a pillow to the head, bro?" Luna playfully threatened while holding a couch pillow.

"Yeah Linky, be mindful of how you address your obviously superior sisters," Lola also teased.

"Trying to make us jelly will get you in a jam," Luan joked. "Ha, get it?"

"Yes, it really sucked too," Lola said.

Luan was about to say something but held back, "You're lucky you're only eight."

"Why? What were you gonna say!?" Lola asked. "Come on, spit it out! What, not woman enough to really insult me to my face?"

"Oh I'm woman enough, the problem is you're still a little girl," Luan said.

"What I would give to read your mind," Lola said. "I get the feeling I'd want to clobber you though."

"Uh, you two figure this out, I gotta head upstairs for some work," Lincoln said, making his leave.

Lana rubbed her chin and while the other sisters were distracted by Lola and Luan, she secretly followed Lincoln.

The boy had gone up to his room, immediately getting on his phone, "Hey Stella, did you see the broadcast?"

"You mean Jameson's?" Stella asked. "Yeah, I saw it with my parents."

"They don't believe him, do they?" Lincoln asked.

"My dad doesn't, he thinks Spider-Man is cool," Stella said. "My mom though..."

"No, why Judy?" Lincoln said to himself.

"My mom's just naturally cautious about everything, but obviously I have to be extra careful when it comes to you," Stella said. "Or rather, when it comes to Spider-Man."

"Right...random question, what does your mom think of me?" Lincoln asked. "The actual me?"

"Uh...fine, I guess?" Stella said. "Where's this coming from?"

"It just popped into my mind since you were talking about how she felt about Spider-Man, I just hoped she didn't dislike Lincoln too," the boy worried.

"My mom has nothing against you or the guys," Stella said. "At the very least though, she trusts you more than she trusts Rusty."

"Ouch, poor Rusty," Lincoln said.

"She has been a bit worried about me since...you know...I've changed," Stella said.

"What do you mean you changed?" Lincoln asked.

"I'm talking about my figure," Stella said. "Remember? It's the talk of school?"

"That's an exaggeration, not all the boys talk about you," Lincoln said. "Besides, they have Miss Rodavich to oogle now."

"Oh right, the new lady," Stella said. "Wonder how she handles it?"

"She probably doesn't even let it bother her," Lincoln said.

"Wish I had that confidence," Stella said. "I see Christina and I think she's lucky because her body isn't that developed. Same with Mollie. Girl Jordan developed a little, at least down below, so I don't totally feel alone."

"If this is still bothering you, come see one of my sisters about it," Lincoln said. "Leni developed pretty young too, so she might understand your position."

"Leni's nice, but she's not always easy to talk to," Stella said.

"I know she's not always the brightest but she has some insight to her," Lincoln said.

"I guess," Stella said. "Honestly, this feels so superficial to worry about given that you, Christina and so many others have more to worry about. Having superpowers must be tougher to manage than having slightly larger breasts, and larger hips."

"I'm used to it by now," Lincoln said. "Besides, it seems like it depends on the person when it comes to puberty. Anything adult about me, I treat like a milestone. Like my first chest hair, or mustache hair, or a deep voice."

"Yeah, I guess it's less scary for guys," Stella said. "Soon being you'll live up to the 'Man' in 'Spider-Man'."

"That's the plan," Lincoln said.

"This reminds me, how are you gonna manage your superhero life into adulthood?" Stella asked. "I imagine being a superhero might be conflicting if you get an actual job."

"Oh right, in the comics, the hero always struggles his work life and hero life," Lincoln said. "But I think I can figure it out. I'm the Spider-Man with a plan."

"You sure are confident," Stella said. "But if you do need help in the future, I got you covered. You and Christina both."

"Speaking of Christina, great job finishing her suit," Lincoln said. "I imagine it has better durability."

"It does, it should be a bit resistant to the elements, but not totally immune," Stella said.

"As long as she'll be fine, a good superhero watches over his sidekick," Lincoln said.

"Think Christina will ever go off on her own?" Stella asked.

"Too early to tell, we did just start out as a duo," Lincoln said. "Plus, I think the public is already warming up to us, no pun intended. Spider-Man and Firestar will be as well beloved as Ace Savvy and One-Eyed Jack."

"To think that was your thing with Clyde," Stella said.

"Yeah well, Clyde wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider," Lincoln said. "Man, I so wish I knew more about the spider that bit me and why it gave me powers."

"Maybe one day you'll find out," Stella said, then had a brief pause. "My mom's calling me, I'll speak to you again tomorrow at school."

"See you then, Stella," Lincoln said, hanging up the phone. "I should probably hit the bathroom before it gets crowded."

Lincoln opened the door to his room, and to his surprise, he spotted Lana in front of it, immediately spooking the girl. "Uh..."

"Lana? What are you doing in front of my door?" Lincoln asked.

"Sorry to bug you but, I was wondering..." Lana began. "Could you possibly read me a bedtime story tonight?"

"Me?" Lincoln asked. "Lana, aren't you a bit too old for those?"

"No, I'm not," Lana said. "Please big bro? After today, I could use a bit of comforting."

"Lana's spooked? She never really gets spooked by these things, even when she was directly in danger," Lincoln thought to himself. "Of course she is a little girl, there's only so much she can handle."

"Well?" Lana asked.

"I'll read you a story," Lincoln said. "But, please don't-"

"Thank you big brother!" Lana said, immediately hugging Lincoln.

"Uh..." Lincoln was again surprised as he hesitantly returned the hug. "She's unusually affectionate. Maybe I'm just overthinking it."

"He feels strong...definitely not padding," Lana thought to herself. "I have so much to ask you but...now may not be the time. Maybe later."

The next school day, Lincoln was seen at his locker, as he was getting everything he needed for the upcoming classes.

"Hey, Lincoln," Clyde said, getting his attention.

"Hey Clyde, what's up?" Lincoln asked.

"Just checking up on you," Clyde said. "That incident at the mall was not pleasant after all. I never would have guessed that Kraven would show up, and fighting Spider-Man on top of that. I was totally surreal."

"I'm just glad no one got hurt," Lincoln said.

"Yeah, especially Lana," Clyde said, then saw Lincoln wince a bit. "Sorry, I know that's probably a sore spot."

"It's fine, Spider-Man was there to keep her safe, and that's all that matters," Lincoln said. "I never should have let her get endangered in the first place though."

"Rip Hardcore was also there to help, kind of cool seeing two masters of their craft going at it like that," Clyde said. "Granted it was a one-sided fight in Kraven's favor, but still, decent attempt."

"All the more reason to respect Rip Hardcore, he's not a coward," Lincoln said.

"Still, for Kraven to do what he did, he really wants to be the best hunter possible if he went after Spider-Man," Clyde said.

"Well it backfired, he got his butt kicked, and he deserved it," Lincoln said, placing his things in his backpack. "We should hurry to class, don't want to be late."

"We got time," Clyde said. "By the way, have you spoken to Stella after the mall thing?"

"A little, just to make sure she was alright," Lincoln said.

"We got really worried, she just ran off to find you," Clyde said. "I mean, I totally would have to but Stella told us to keep an eye on Lana. Obviously we didn't do the best job."

"Kraven was very strong, and I know Lana can be hard to keep under control, just like the rest of my sisters," Lincoln said. "Don't worry about it, like I said, I just care that everyone's safe."

"Still, Stella seemed very worried for you, I never would have expected her to just run off like that, she always struck me as the type to keep us from risking our lives," Clyde said. "If anything, she would have had us look for the proper authorities."

"Stella probably just felt brave," Lincoln said.

"Well you do have the guys wondering," Clyde said. "Given how close you and Stella have been lately, including being lab partners, are you two...you know...considering going out?"

"Me and Stella?" Lincoln asked, shaking it off. "No, we're not considering that."

"Really? Because we're all cool with the idea," Clyde said. "Not saying you even needed our permission, but given the drama that happened the first time we met Stella, we just weren't sure if you were intimidated out of the idea."

"Stella's my friend, our friend, it should stay that way," Lincoln insisted.

"Well if you do change your mind, I'm in full support," Clyde said. "It'd be great to go on double dates again, granted I haven't seen Chloe for a while. She hasn't been having the best of luck lately, especially with schoolwork."

"Yeah, I remember that," Lincoln said. "Have you tried tutoring her?"

"A little, but she might need a teacher's help," Clyde said. "It should be fine, she'll pull through."

"Question...how close are you two now?" Lincoln asked. "Like, nothing happened because of me and Emma, right?"

"Lincoln, you gotta stop worrying about that," Clyde said. "Emma broke up with you, Chloe's not gonna blame me or you for what happened."

"I hope so, she hasn't spoken to me but I just feel like she'll find a way to make it seem like it's my fault, like I was just that bad of a boyfriend," Lincoln said.

"It wasn't you though, Emma just wasn't as ready as she thought," Clyde said. "It takes a special kind of maturity to date, and while you can handle it, Emma probably couldn't."

"I guess," Lincoln said. "I'll admit, I still wish she and I were still together. I really did like her."

"I know you did, but that's life," Clyde said, patting Lincoln on the shoulder. "You'll be fine buddy, you're only thirteen. It's never too late to find love too, even people in their 40s never stop looking. Or even older."

"Yeah, kind of like Myrtle," Lincoln said. "I'd rather not wait till I'm her age, but I imagine I'll have someone by the time I'm thirty."

"With your looks and charisma, maybe sooner," Clyde said.

"Do you ever worry about you and Chloe?" Lincoln asked. "Like, staying together for a long time?"

"Sometimes, but that's why I try hard to make it work," Clyde said. "It's about confidence, and she helps me feel confident."

"Well, I'm happy," Lincoln said.

"LOUD! McBRIDE!" Came Bolhofner's voice. "Class is starting, move your hides already!"

"Uh, wow, we should get going," Clyde said.

"Good idea, I don't want to tick off Bolhofner," Lincoln said as the two got moving.

Bolhofner grumbled in annoyance, "I swear kids have no concept of time, like-" He then noticed Natasha walking nearby, immediately putting on the charm. "Why hello Miss Rodavich."

"Good day Mr. Bolhofner," Natasha said as she kept walking.

"Yeah...good day," Bolhofner said, then felt disappointed. "Dang, it's so hard saying something to impress her. That woman has high standards." Suddenly she stopped and turned around, walking back to him. "Then again..."

"Forgive me for asking, but your cousin is Kraven, correct?" Natasha asked.

"Oh, yeah, he is," Bolhofner shamefully admitted.

"I don't suppose you have any idea why he went rogue, do you?" Natasha asked.

"Simple, he thinks he's tough and wanted to hunt down Spider-Man to prove it," Bolhofner said. "Why do you ask?"

"Just curious about a fellow Russian, it is important for guests from another country to behave the best they can in a new one," Natasha said. "What Kraven did was dishonorable and could give Russians like me a bad name."

"One man doesn't make the country, so don't feel like Kraven represents all of Russia," Bolhofner said. "America's got its own share of crooks, like that Vulture guy who hostage the daughter of one of the town's richest families."

"The Rosato family, correct?" Natasha asked.

"Yeah, John Rosato is a very wealthy man, I think he's hosting a party soon, not that I got an invite but that's fine, I'm not much of a people person," Bolhofner said. "Plus that guy can be a bit of a prude."

"Hm, I see then," Natasha said. "Have you seen him much?"

"If I do, it's usually during a parent-teacher conference since his daughter has been one of my students," Bolhofner said. "A young lady named Jordan, or Girl Jordan as her friends call her since there was a boy in the last also named Jordan. Good student she is though, gets As on average, but has some troublemaker tendencies. Nearly got into a big incident a few years ago regarding a prank, all because she got a B."

"She got a B?" Natasha asked.

"She rarely gets under an A, and she took it hard," Bolhofner said. "It's good that when a students takes her grades seriously though, I won't condone what she did but I understand the passion. I just hope she straightens out. She's got good potential, and fortunately has a good group of friends. Mostly at least, some are troublemakers too, but others, like that Loud boy, he's alright."

"Loud boy? You mean Lincoln Loud?" Natasha asked.

"Yeah, good kid, but not always the most organized," Bolhofner said. "I just had to scold him a second ago for cutting it close on getting to class."

"Shouldn't you be getting to class too though?" Natasha asked.

Bolhofner's eyes widened in worry, "Crap, you're right, I'm gonna be late to my own class!" Bolhofner booked it, "See you later Miss Rodavich!"

"Of course," Natasha said. When no one was looking, she spoke into a radio, "Come in Fury."

"I'm here Natasha, find out anything about our rogue agent?" Fury asked.

"Not quite, but I may have a lead on where he could go," Natasha said.

By lunchtime, Lincoln was sitting with his friends at their usual table, where Girl Jordan had a surprise for each of them.

"So, good news, my parents are hosting a Gala," Jordan said. "Better news, it's a pool party."

"A pool party? Awesome!" Rusty said. "Let's just hope that no one has any sleepovers that night then."

"Oh real funny," Liam said. "No, ah don't got no sleepovers."

"Good, I'd really like you to come too Liam, I'd like to see all of you," Jordan said.

"We'll definitely be there," Rusty said.

"We appreciate the invite," Stella said. "But, isn't it kind of late in the year to do a pool party?"

"It's not that cold outside, plus we have heaters in the pool, and in the poolside area, so you'll be fine," Jordan said.

"Well that's good to know," Stella said. "It should be a fun time then."

"Got that right," Jordan said. "It's gonna be a big party."

"Can we bring anyone?" Rusty asked. "Like what if we wanted to bring a date?"

"You got a date?" Jordan asked.

"No...but I can probably use this party to get a date," Rusty pointed out.

"Uh-huh..." Jordan said. "Go for it if you want."

"Does that mean I can invite Chloe?" Clyde asked.

"Sure," Jordan said.

"Wouldn't inviting her mean inviting Emma? That might break Lincoln's heart," Rusty said. This got him some heavy glares from everyone around the table. "Yeah, poorly worded, I know."

"It's fine if Emma comes, not like I can control that," Lincoln said. "I'll still be there."

Jordan felt sympathetic toward Lincoln, she could tell he was a lot sadder than he let on, she hated seeing him like this.

"I appreciate you wanting to come, I would really love your company Lincoln," Jordan said, hoping to reassure him. "If you want, you can invite your family."

"My family?" Lincoln asked. "Not sure if you remember, but I have ten sisters."

"That's fine with me," Jordan said. "Bring them all, the more the merrier."

"Well thanks, they'll appreciate that," Lincoln said. "Especially Lola, she loves fancy parties."

"Yeah she seems like the type to enjoy a nice gala," Jordan said. "And hey, if you want to invite Sid and Ronnie Anne too, that's all the better."

"That'd be great, especially if Lori decides to bring Bobby," Lincoln said. "Wait, can she?"

"Yeah, Luan can bring her boyfriend too, and Luna can bring her girlfriend," Jordan said. "But don't expect my parents to book their band or anything, they're not into Rock and Roll."

"Well that's a bummer," Lincoln said. "Luna would have loved to entertain your guests. Though, she's very talented with instruments like harps. Just in case your parents prefer that."

"I'll talk it over with my mom," Jordan said.

"Hey if worse comes to worse, there's another way Luna and Sam can entertain people, especially the boys," Rusty said. Lincoln's response was tossing a pea at the other boy's face.

"Jordan, would your parents really mind you inviting so many people?" Mollie asked. "It seems like something your father wants to run business wise. I'm not sure if he'd be okay with all our friends coming, he doesn't even seem to like it when I'm around."

"They said I can invite whomever I want," Jordan said. "They owe me for so much crap."

"Still, what if he's not okay with us coming?" Mollie asked.

"Look, let me worry about it," Jordan said. "Bottom line, you're all invited. I really could use your company too."

"If you really want us, then we'll be there," Christina said.

"Totally," Paige said. "Oh, will there be any video games?"

"Probably, I can set something up," Jordan said.

"Ha, sweet," Paige said.

"Can't wait for it," Lincoln said. "Oh, is there a dress code?"

"I think so, just in case, try to look nice," Jordan said. "You don't need a tux but wear something nice."

"I'm gonna have to check my wardrobe then," Christina said.

"I have some stuff I can lend you if you need it," Jordan said. "You're close to my size, it should work."

"I appreciate that," Christina said.

"The Gala's this Saturday from 12:00pm until 9:00pm," Jordan said. "Come whenever you want between that nine-hour window. I'll send you texts as a reminder."

"Long window, I should wear something that will let me slip into my costume if I needed to," Lincoln thought to himself. "Christina might need to do the same."

Later on, Lincoln was making his way out of school, ready to meet Christina for their daily patrol.

"Lincoln Loud?" Came a voice. He turned around to see the assistant principal.

"Oh...Miss Rodavich," Lincoln said, blushing a bit upon seeing the gorgeous woman. "It's nice to see you this afternoon."

"Well aren't you polite?" the disguised Natasha pointed out. "Principal Ramirez wishes to speak with you."

"Oh, really?" Lincoln asked. "Do you know why? I didn't do anything bad, did I?"

"You're not in trouble," Natasha reassured. "She wants to discuss the tutoring program with you further, she believes she found a good candidate."

"Oh, okay," Lincoln said.

"It shouldn't take to long," Natasha said.

"Sure, let me just text my friend so she's not waiting for me," Lincoln said, grabbing his phone.

"Might be referring to that girl in yellow," Natasha theorized. "Come with me then.

A few minutes later, Lincoln was sitting in an office across from Principal Ramirez, the woman with some files on her desk.

"Good you're here," Ramirez said. "I trust that Miss Rodavich let you know your reason for being here?"'

"Yeah, she said something about the tutoring program," Lincoln said.

"Now, you did agree to be one of the tutors, correct?" Ramirez said.

"Yeah, I don't mind," Lincoln said. "I just have a weird personal schedule."

"Don't worry, that's being taken into account," Natasha said.

"That it is, just make sure you commit enough time to this student," Ramirez said.

"I will do my best," Lincoln said. "Wait, who do you have in mind for me?"

"Well, I took a lot of things into consideration, including your strengths, their weaknesses as well as personality," Ramirez said. "Miss Rodavich assisted as well."

"I think this student could work well for you," Natasha said.

"Who is it?" Lincoln asked, then had a worry.

"Well, one student I had in mind initially was Chandler McCann," Ramirez said, this causing concern for Lincoln.

"No way! I can't work with Chandler," Lincoln said. "You know we don't get along."

"I am aware, but I still considered you two a good match since you'd be able to help him succeed," Ramirez said. "Of course, Mr. Bolhofner weighed in, saying it'd do more harm than good."

"Bolhofner vouched for me?" Lincoln asked.

"Miss Rodavich seemed to as well," Ramirez said, gesturing to the secret spy.

"It would be counterproductive," Rodavich said.

"Personally, I believe that it's important to work with people, even if you don't like that person, but that's only my opinion," Ramirez said. "So I selected another person instead, one I should hope you don't have a problem with."

"Well I can't think of any student in this school I don't like," Lincoln said. "Who is it?"

"This young lady right here," Ramirez said, gesturing to a girl entering the room, one immediately familiar to Lincoln.

"Chloe!?" Indeed it was the girl who was dating his best friend standing near the door.

"Hey Lincoln," Chloe said, waving at the boy.

"You will be working with Chloe for the tutorship program," Ramirez said. "She's been struggling in class lately, and I believe you would be a good fit for her."

"Clyde has mentioned that, but I didn't think she'd sign up for this program, assuming it was even her choice," Lincoln thought to himself. "So, it's me and Chloe then?"

"That isn't a problem, is it?" Ramirez asked. "If anything, she seems quite familiar with you, so it should help more."

"I don't have a problem, I actually wouldn't mind tutoring Chloe," Lincoln said.

"That's good," Ramirez said. "You will be her tutor effective immediately. I suggest you talk things out with her and figure your plans out."

"Yes ma'am," Lincoln said, hopping off the chair and facing the girl. "Let's talk outside, Chloe."

"Sure," Chloe said, heading out with Lincoln joining her.

"Well, that's a job well done," Ramirez said. "I just have to see how many other students volunteered, and who needs the assistance. Hopefully it's someone who could help Chandler McCann."

"There's bound to be someone," Natasha said. "Good choice today."

"Yeah, sure seems like it," Ramirez said.

Outside Lincoln was just about ready to explain the plans to his new tutor student, "So, Chloe, I'm not sure if you're aware, but I have quite the busy schedule."

"Yeah, I'm aware, that schedule is why Emma was so lonely half the time," Chloe said.

"And there's the awkwardness, should have figured," Lincoln shook it off. "I don't want to get into that, can we just focus on us?"

"Alright fine," Chloe said. "What's your plan?"

"I have a lot of availability on the weekend, I can go to your house or you can come over," Lincoln said. "If you need me during the weekday, I'll make it work. I'm good with evenings, but I can do afternoons if anything."

"Alright, well weekends might work for me too, but I'll let you know about the rest of the week," Chloe said.

"Great, um, how about we trade contact info?" Lincoln said.

"I already have your number," Chloe reminded.

"You do?" Lincoln asked. Then remembered weeks back. "Oooooh, right."

"Yeah, thanks to that, you got to see quite a bit of me, and Emma," Chloe said.

"I still don't get what that was about," Lincoln said.

"I told you, accidents happen," Chloe insisted. "Point is I have your number and you have mine. So we'll communicate via texts."

"Okay..." Lincoln said. "That sounds good."

"I gota get going now, we'll talk more later," Chloe said, making her leave.

"By the way, Girl Jordan's hosting a gala," Lincoln said.

"I heard, Clyde mentioned it to me shortly before I came here," Chloe said.

"Are you going to invite Emma?" Lincoln asked. "Jordan said she could come too."

"I might, why?" Chloe asked. "You want to get back together with her?"

"Uh...that would be nice but I'm not expecting her to take me back," Lincoln said.

"Well she's not exactly ready either, so you're not far off," Chloe said. "By the way, I don't want anyone knowing about you tutoring me."

"Uh, any reason?" Lincoln asked.

"I made such a big deal about not wanting to do this that I'll lose credibility if I do," Chloe said. "My parents made me so in the end, I had no choice in the matter."

"Well...it won't be so bad," Lincoln insisted. "It could actually be fun."

"Whatever, just keep your mouth shut about it, don't tell anyone, especially not Clyde," Chloe said.

"You want me to keep a secret from my best friend? The same one you're dating?" Lincoln asked.

"Hey you had no problem keeping that underwear pic a secret," Chloe said. "I mean it, don't tell anyone about this. Not Clyde, not Emma, not Stella, no one."

"Alright, fine," Lincoln said. "I'll see you later then."

"Yeah," Chloe said, making her leave. "Catch you later."

Lincon begrudgingly waved good-bye before groaning in frustration, "This is going to be so awkward. Thinking about it, did I ever erase that photo? I should probably check so that-"

"Lincoln Loud," Natasha said, getting his attention.

"Oh, do you need something Miss Rodavich?" Lincoln asked.

"Yes, come with me," Natasha said, leading Lincoln away.

"Um...okay," Lincoln said, following the woman.

After a few minutes, the woman had led Lincoln onto the roof of the Middle School. Lincoln was obviously confused as to why the Assistant Principal would bring him up here.

"So...um, is there a reason we're on the roof?" Lincoln asked.

"So no one can see or hear us," Natasha said.

"That sounds strange, why is she worried about that?" Lincoln wondered, then saw her untying her hair. "Why is she undoing her hair now?"

"I have to tell you something, and it might take you a moment to believe me, but I suppose the best way to prove it is to show you," Natasha said, unbuttoning her shirt. "I want no secrets between us."

"Wait, is she hitting on me or something?" Lincoln wondered, feeling a bit strange in his pants. "On one hand, this is morally wrong. On the other, she's so hot that...wait, what am I thinking? This can't...ugh, she's so attractive though."

She tossed her shirt aside, revealing a skintight black suit. She then dropped her skirt, seeing another part of her body suit rolled up as she placed her leggings down.

"Wait, why is this so familiar?" Lincoln wondered.

Natasha turned around and tossed her glasses off, fully revealing her true identity to Lincoln Loud, "Do you recognize me?"

It didn't take Lincoln long to figure this out, from the red hair to the black suit, it was clear who this woman was, "You're Black Widow!"

"You catch on fast," Natasha said.

"No way! An Avenger? Here? In Royal Woods!?" Lincoln asked in disbelief. "Is this real? I'm not just imagining this, am I?"

"It's very real, I can assure you," Natasha said, kneeling in front of the boy. "I am the real Black Widow. But, you can call me Natasha."

"Uh, it feels weird to call an Avenger by their real name," Lincoln said, still feeling giddy. "Wow, a real superhero, right in front on me!"

"I'm flattered, but I'm not much of a superhero, Cap is more of a hero than I am," Natasha said.

"Oh right! You know Captain America! And Iron Man! And Thor! And Hawkeye! And The Hulk!" Lincoln said. "I gotta know, what's Cap's shield made out of? How many suits does Iron Man have? Does everything about Norse mythology match with Thor? Is it true Hawkeye always gets a hole in one when he golfs? How do the Hulk's pants stay on when he transforms?"

"That's a lot of questions, and I understand your eagerness, but I only have so much time to be up here, and I have a lot to say to you," Natasha said.

"Well, can you answer why you wanted to see me? I'm just a regular kid," Lincoln said.

"Oh, regular kids can Do whatever a Spider can?" Natasha asked, Lincoln's eyes widening in surprise. "That's right, I know you're Spider-Man."

"Do I deny it? She's a spy of sorts, she probably figured it out already, plus why would I lie about it? It's a fellow hero and it could be beneficial to me!" Lincoln nodded his head. "Wow you figured it out huh?"

"Surprised you didn't try to deny it, you're not lax with your secret identity, are you?" Natasha asked.

"No way! I guard that secret well," Lincoln said. "But, since you're a superhero in your own right, I think it's easy to trust you."

"Well, aren't you a nice young boy?" Natasha said. "But remember, I'm not a hero like Cap is. I am a spy after all, you shouldn't be so quick to trust me with your secrets."

"Still, you helped save the world from those aliens last year, and you've done a lot as part of both S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Avengers," Lincoln said. "Anyone who would risk their life for someone else has my respect. So I know I can trust you."

"Wow, he really admires us," Natasha rubbed the boy's head. "You're such a sweetheart, your parents raised you well."

"Not bad since I'm the sixth kid out of eleven," Lincoln said.

"Eleven?" Natasha asked. "Oh right, I heard you had ten sisters. That must be a lot."

"Well it's hard to have privacy in my house for sure," Lincoln said. "But they're great to have. Even if we don't always get along, we're still a close family."

"That's amazing, you're lucky to have so many people who love you," Natasha said.

"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" Lincoln asked.

"Yes, I have a brother, he lives in Russia," Natasha said. "We're not exactly close though, I keep my family at a distance due to my work."

"Sorry to hear that," Lincoln said. "What else do you know about me?"

"I know about your friends, and I know one of them is a mutant, and the other helps you with your duties as Spider-Man," Natasha said.

"So you know about Christina and Stella," Lincoln said. "You know, Stella's a fan of yours. You're her favorite after Iron Man."

"Well that's flattering," Natasha said.

"Stella's dream is to work with Stark Industries one day, she's very intelligent and enjoys working with tech," Lincoln said. "She loves taking stuff apart and seeing if she can put it back together. In fact she created a lot of my gadgets. The web shooters are mine but she modified them to be resistant to electricity, and she modified my suit so I can glide and not get altitude sickness."

"I might need to talk with this girl myself someday then," Natasha said.

"So, why did you want to see me?" Lincoln asked. "Are you recruiting me into The Avengers?"

"Not quite," Natasha said. "But Iron Man and Nick Fury are aware of your presence, especially since you've had impressive battles recently."

"They know about my fights?" Lincoln asked.

"Yes, believe it or not, I was at Great Lakes when you defeated Doctor Connors," Natasha said. "I was actually sent to apprehend him, but you beat me to the punch."

"Oh wow, I never would have known," Lincoln said. "So The Avengers were worried."

"Of course, we want to help everyone we can but there's only so much man power to spread across the entire country, and sometimes other countries," Natasha said.

"I get it," Lincoln said.

"Since then I've been even more interested in you and decided to join the school to keep a closer eye on you," Natasha said. "If you do well, you might have a spot in The Avengers, at least when you turn 18. Right now you're too young."

"I figured as much, I actually planned to go to New York City University for college," Lincoln said. "Not just so The Avengers would see me, but because they have a great course on Astronomy. If my superhero career fails, my backup plan is to become an astronaut."

"Smart move, always good to have a backup plan," Natasha said.

"Still, how is my potential? Would I make a great Avenger?" Lincoln asked.

"Well you're strong, and your power are amazing," Natasha said. "You have quite the talent for being a hero."

"Thanks, I owe it to my comics and from studying up about The Avengers," Lincoln said.

"But, you are also kind of reckless," Natasha said, confusing Lincoln. "Your combat skills are very amateurish."

"Huh? Can they really be that bad?" Lincoln asked. "I've been doing well so far."

"So far you've fought mostly commoners," Natasha said. "Kraven was your most recent enemy one skilled in combat, can you say you defeated him on your own?"

"Well...I did have help from Firestar...and Rip Hardcore," Lincoln reluctantly admitted.

"And Kraven struggled to defeat Doctor Connors too," Natasha said. "Can you say you defeated Doctor Connors on your own?"

"No, I didn't," Lincoln begrudgingly admitted.

"One last example," Natasha said. "A few weeks ago, a gang known as The Enforcers came back to New York after a meeting here, and mentioned something about a spider powered boy that they beat up. That wouldn't happen to be you, would it?"

"...Yeah, it was," Lincoln again admitted. "But is that the worse thing? Sometimes people have an off day."

"They do, even I need my team sometimes," Natasha said. "But you also need to be able to train just in case no one's there to help you. Fighting is more than just throwing punches. You need skill behind those blows."

"Yeah I get it," Lincoln said.

"I don't mean to put you down, I only tell you out of you own safety, alright?" Natasha asked. "I want to make sure you get better."

"How so?" Lincoln asked.

"Join me after school tomorrow at my condo," Natasha said, giving Lincoln a card with her address on it. "I'll put your skills to the test."

"Wait, so you're going to supervise me?" Lincoln asked. "Like, you're really going to give me pointers?"

"Of course," Natasha said, grabbing her disguise.

"Wow...this is so cool, having an actual Avenger help me out," Lincoln said. "I promise I'll do my best."

"I know you will," Natasha said. "But I do appreciate the offer. Now, I imagine you have some work to do."

"Oh right, I gotta go and protect the town," Lincoln said, pulling his suit out. "Wait, I know who you are, but what about my friends? Shouldn't Christina and Stella know too?"

"Honestly, I wanted it to be between us, but I know that they're part of your team, so it might be wise to keep them part of this as well," Natasha said. "Let them know to meet me as well."

"Alright, I'll tell them then," Lincoln said. "I'll see you tomorrow Black Widow. Um, I mean...Natasha."

"See you then, Lincoln," Natasha said, making her leave.

"The real Black Widow...she's so much hotter in person! And I get to spend time with her! So lucky!" Lincoln said, quickly changing into his suit. "Stella is not going to believe this, neither is Christina. Boy are they in for a surprise."

Natasha had redonned her disguise, but still found a place to be alone so she could make one final call. "Fury, it's Natasha."

"Anything to report?" Fury asked.

"I just had contact with Spider-Man, I brought him into the loop about my position here," Natasha said. "He was very excited honestly."

"Figures," Fury said. "How much did you tell him?"

"Just enough to keep his interest, he has no idea about our rogue agent, just yet," Natasha said. "But perhaps he can be of assistance, if we play our cards right."

"Fine by me," Fury said. "Just make sure he doesn't screw it up. This is bigger than his little town after all."

"I'm well aware," Natasha said, singing off. "I hope you can handle this, Lincoln."

Lincoln had fully dressed in costume and met Christina at Tall Timbers Park, the girl already in costume herself.

"Firestar!" Lincoln called, getting the girl's attention.

"There you are, I was getting worried," Christina said.

"Didn't you get my text?" Lincoln asked.

"Yeah, but I'm still gonna worry," Christina said. "I don't know if you got ambushed along the way or something."

"Uh, right, good point," Lincoln said. "Everything's fine though, Principal Ramirez just needed to speak to me. Turns out I have a kid to tutor."

"Oh that's great," Christina said. "Who is it? Anyone we know?"

"Yeah...it's Chloe," Lincoln awkwardly admitted.

Christina raised her eyebrow in confusion, "Chloe? As in, the same Chloe that Clyde is dating?"

"Yeah, that Chloe," Lincoln said.

"Seriously!?" Came Stella's voice, the girl popping out of a bush.

"Stella? What are you doing here?" Lincoln asked. "Also, why are you in that poison ivy bush?"

"I came because...wait, poison ivy!?" Stella shouted, the girl suddenly feeling itchy. "Crap, how did I not notice that!"

"Uh, wow...just when I was telling Na...dia Rodavich how smart you were too," Lincoln said.

"Oh shut up, I'm a techie, not a florist!" Stella shouted, the girl scratching herself. "Gonna need some cream."

"Don't worry, I know the perfect ointment, it worked for Paige when she had this same problem," Christina said.

"Well, what were you doing talking to Miss Rodavich?" Stella asked.

"She and Ramirez were the ones who told me about me tutoring Chloe, then you came up in the conversation," Lincoln asked.

"Does the Principal want me to tutor too?" Stella asked.

"No, nothing like that, I was just putting a good word for you, Stella," Lincoln said. "Miss Rodavich has respect for budding scientists. She wants to speak to you personally about it tomorrow. You can come too Christina."

"Oh, does she know anyone who can help me break into the field of science?" Stella asked.

"Yeah, she might," Lincoln said. "Just give it time and you'll find out."

"That really vague," Stella said, scratching again. "But I'm too itchy to care. Christina, what is that ointment?"

"I'll text it to you so you can remember," Christina said, grabbing her phone. "Go now, and quickly."

"Sure," Stella said, making her leave. "I'll keep in touch with you two!"

"Let's go," Lincoln said, webbing away.

Meanwhile in Clyde's room, while he was reading a comic, he got a phone call. The boy was quick to answer, "Clyde McBride here."

"Hey Clyde, it's me," Chloe said.

"Oh hi Chloe, what's up?" Clyde asked.

"I just wanted you to be the first to know that...I'm gonna be really busy some days," Chloe said.

"Oh, really?" Clyde asked. "Busy with what?"

"Personal things, so if I don't spend time with you, that's why," Chloe said. "I'll let you know for sure though."

"Alright, are we on for some ice cream tomorrow though?" Clyde asked.

"Yeah, I'll see you after school," Chloe said, then did a kiss sound on the phone. "See you then."

"See ya," Clyde said, hanging up. "Wow, seems like everyone's busy lately. Maybe I should take up a hobby too? I'll think about it later."

The next day after school, Lincoln was on his way out, ready to meet Stella and Christina.

"Hey, Lincoln," Jordan said, getting his attention.

"Hey Jordan, need something?" Lincoln asked.

"Yeah..." Jordan said, blushing a bit. "It's about my party."

"What's wrong?" Lincoln asked.

"I um...I was just wonder if...well..." Jordan was a bit tongue tied.

"This is odd, she's usually not speechless," Lincoln said. "Hey, if there's something you need to tell me then you can. I promise that I'm not gonna-"

"Willyoubemydate!?" Jordan asked. If not for Lincoln's speed, he wouldn't have caught any of that, but even then he was in disbelief.

"Repeat that please?" Lincoln asked.

"Will you...by my...date?" Jordan asked.

Now it was Lincoln's turn to blush, he wasn't expecting Jordan to confess like this. At the same time, he wasn't eager to turn her down, nor did he have the heart to do so. "Sorry, I wasn't really expecting this, kind of took me by surprise."

"It's fine, I expected hesitation," Jordan said.

"It's nothing against you," Lincoln reassured.

"I believe you," Jordan said. "Look, I know you're still upset about breaking up with Emma, so I can understand you don't want to be my date. I just figured since Clyde's bringing Chloe, I didn't want you to feel lonely in any way. Plus, I really want your company. I need someone by my side that day."

"Oh, really?" Lincoln asked. "Any reason?"

"I have a few, it's hard to explain," Jordan said. "And listen, this doesn't make us boyfriend and girlfriend. I won't rush you into a relationship. You can just be my date for this one day and that's it."

"Well...if it's just for a day," Lincoln said. "But, are you sure things won't get weird? I don't want to potentially ruin our friendship."

"You won't," Jordan said. "Just consider it a friendship date if you want."

"Well, I guess..." Lincoln nodded his head. "You know what, I'm all for it. I'll be your date."

"Aw, thanks Linky," Jordan said, kissing him on the cheek. "Friendship kiss, it's a thing."

"R-right," Lincoln said, blushing a bit.

"I gotta get going now, I'll see you soon," Jordan said, making her leave.

"Bye Jordan," Lincoln said, shyly waving at the girl. "I sure wasn't expecting this."

"Lincoln!" Stella called, worrying the boy.

"Wonder if she saw that?" Lincoln turned to his friend. "Hey Stella."

"Christina's ready for the patrol, are you coming?" Stella asked.

"Oh, not quite yet, I have to talk to Miss Rodavich about something," Lincoln said. "I'll text her later, but she can start patrol without me if she'd like."

"Seeing Miss Rodavich again? Is this still about the tutoring?" Stella asked.

"Well she does want to test me on some stuff," Lincoln said. "It won't be long."

"Well alright, I'll let Christina know," Stella said.

"That'd be great, thanks," Lincoln said. "Well, time to get going."

The young boy left the school with Stella and Christina by his side as they went to meet with the assistant principal.

"Lincoln, isn't the office inside the building?" Stella asked.

"Miss Rodavich wants us to meet at her place," Lincoln said, holding out her card. "It's in a penthouse at a condominium."

"She lives in a penthouse?" Stella asked. "Wow, an assistant principal's salary is much more impressive than I thought."

"Hey, how is your poison ivy?" Lincoln asked.

"It still bothers but the ointment Christina suggested is working," Stella said. "I think I have a rash."

"Oh, sorry to hear," Christina said.

"It's fine, just gives me an excuse to not wear a traditional bathing suit, or one at all," Stella said.

"Don't you want to swim?" Christina asked.

"I do, but I don't want to be the center of attention," Stella said, covering her body. "It's embarrassing."

"I wish you'd get past that, you look fine," Lincoln said. "Besides, it's not like you're the only girl who's developed."

"Lincoln, you should be a little more sensitive than that," Christina scolded. "It's not easy for girls when it comes to their bodies. You have nothing to worry about because you have abs."

Lincoln's eyes widened in worry, "Oh crap...how am I gonna hide my muscles!"

"Well that's a girl, I don't think I've ever heard a boy worry about that," Christina said.

"I'm just worried, what if everyone gets suspicious?" Lincoln asked.

"Just tell them you've been doing sit-ups," Christina said.

"That may not be enough," Lincoln said.

"Wear a shirt," Stella suggested.

"Oh yeah, that could work for you too, Stella," Christina said.

"Oh right, might be weird but less weird if Lincoln does it with me," Stella said.

"I'll join you too," Christina said. "Just for fun."

"The pool-shirt trio," Lincoln said. "Hope Jordan won't mind."

"I doubt it," Christina said. "Now let's hurry."

It wasn't long before they arrived at the condo building, and to their surprise, the disguised Natasha was waiting.

"Finally here, very good," Natasha said. "Come with me."

The trio of kids followed Natasha down a long hall that went underground, the trio being very confused by what was happening. It wasn't long before they reached a large gymnasium of sorts.

"Whoa...this looks amazing," Christina said.

"It's part of the condo, I booked it for today so we will have some privacy," Natasha said.

"Privacy for what?" Stella asked.

"For combat," Natasha said, removing her shirt and tossing it aside, doing the same with her skirt and glasses, revealing her true identity to the girls. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Natasha Romanoff, but you may know me as-"

"Black...Widow..." Stella said in disbelief. "As in...THEE Black Widow? Member of The Avengers Black Widow? Best superhero female Black Widow?"

"Wow, never got called best superhero female," Natasha said. "That usually goes to Captain Marvel."

"No way, you're a total badass!" Stella said, rushing in front of the woman, sparkles in her eyes. "You face danger despite having no powers! To stand in front of you is an honor!"

"Wow Lincoln, you were right about her being a fan," Natasha said.

"Wait, Lincoln!" Stella turned around. "You knew about her!?"

"I told you that you wouldn't believe me," Lincoln said.

"He's right, I don't believe it either, and I'm seeing it in front of my eyes," Christina said. "Amazing to see the real Black Widow."

"What are you doing in Royal Woods ma'am?" Stella asked.

"You don't have to call me 'ma'am'," Natahsa said. "You can call me by my name."

"So...I can call you Natasha?" Stella asked. "Or even...Nat, for sure?"

"If you'd like," Natasha said.

Stella's eyes began to water, "I'm so honored."

"Easy, compose yourself," Natasha said, rubbing her head. "Don't make too big of a deal out of it. I appreciate your respect but I'd rather you not sound like a fangirl."

"R-right, I'll get a hold of myself," Stella said. "It's just so amazing. I was actually planning to dress like you for Halloween! I even bought a costume for it."

"Oh, well I hope you show me one day," Natasha said.

"I'd love to," Stella said, trying not to freak out again. "I'll make you proud, Nat."

"Excuse me," Christina said. "While I share Stella's enthusiasm in seeing such a talented hero such as yourself in our small town, we never got why you were here."

"I came to observe Spider-Man," Natasha said. "And by extension, his team."

"Oh, so me too?" Christina asked.

"Yes, is it safe to assume that you're Firestar?" Natasha asked.

"I am," Christina confirmed. "I'm a mutant, hence why I have powers. I used to hate it, but Lincoln here helped me turn what I thought was a curse into a gift."

"That's good to know, given the public fear of mutants, knowing that some are using their powers for good can help reduce that worry," Natasha said.

"I'm glad to hear," Christina said.

"Wait, are The Avengers okay with mutants?" Stella asked.

"At the core, they are, so long as that mutant is not evil," Natasha said. "However, I can't say everyone at S.H.I. . is okay with the idea. I have no prejudice against you Christina, but my colleagues might."

"Oh...I see," Christina said. "Well, thank you for being honest."

"One day we'll fix this, just know that I recognize you as a hero, and as a well-behaved young lady," Natasha said.

"Thank you so much, ma'am," Christina said.

"It's 'Natasha', I'm not old enough to be a 'ma'am," Natasha said.

"I'll say, you're young and pretty enough to pass as a young college girl," Lincoln said.

"Ugh, seriously Lincoln? Show Black Widow a little more respect than shamelessly flirting with her," Stella said.

"I am showing her respect!" Lincoln insisted.

"Well do so without being such a boy about it," Stella said.

Lincoln raised his eyebrow, "What does that even mean!?"

"Easy now," Natasha said. "Stella, it's fine, he didn't mean any harm."

"If you say so, Nat," Stella said.

"He's a boy, it's hormones, nothing to be ashamed of," Natasha said. "Plus, I felt flattered."

"See, she's fine with it," Lincoln said.

"You're lucky she's cool," Stella said.

"Now then, there is a reason I wanted you here, Lincoln," Natasha said. "Go change into your suit. The locker room is to the right."

"Sure," Lincoln said, heading over to change.

"What about me?" Christina asked.

"You can do the same if you'd like," Natasha said, Christina obliging.

In his locker room, Lincoln found himself getting increasingly excited, "Me training with Black Widow, I feel so lucky! She's always been amazing at what she does. She's so nice too, I can't wait to see what she has in store for me."

Christina was also changing, feeling very excited for this moment, "Meeting an Avenger, and seeing her be a coach of sorts. Lincoln's lucky, and I guess I am too."

Meanwhile Stella found herself momentarily alone with Black Widow, not sure what to say. "So...do you like Royal Woods?"

"It's a nice town," Natasha said.

"Yeah, it is," Stella said. "It's really become home for me these last couple of years."

"Were you not born here?" Natasha asked.

"No, my family moved here two years ago," Stella said. "It was hard to get used to, thankfully I met Lincoln and he made me feel right at home."

"That was nice of him," Natasha said.

"He's a really nice boy, he's got his flaws and can be a little self-centered from time to time, but his kindness more than makes up for it," Stella said. "It's no surprise that he's a superhero, he really admires the concept, which actually originated with Ace Savvy."

"I am familiar with that, not really a thing in Russia, but Captain America seems to like them," Natasha said.

"Lincoln learned good values from those comics," Stella said. "And he uses them to be a hero. Just like Ace Savvy, and in honor of the man who created him."

"That is very noble," Natasha said, then saw the two heroes returning. "You are back."

"Yes, and ready to train," Lincoln said.

"Very good," Natasha said. "Christina, if you don't mind sitting this out for a second."

"Yes Natasha," Christina said, standing to the side.

"Now Lincoln, come at me," Natasha said, to the boy's surprise.

"Wait, I'm fighting you?" Lincoln asked. "Are you sure? I might hurt you by mistake."

"I think I can handle a little kid, even if he does have super strength," Natasha said.

"Yeah but…still," Lincoln said.

"Lincoln, she's an Avenger, she knows what she's doing," Stella said.

"It's fine dear, he's just worried," Natasha said. "Mind keeping a distance? I'll feel better if you were in a safe spot."

"Yes Nat," Stella said, taking some steps back.

"Alright, come attack," Natasha ordered.

"Just gotta be careful," Lincoln went for a punch but Natasha was quick to grab his arm and flip him over.

"I saw that coming," Natasha said. "Don't reel back like that, you're just begging for me to counter."

"Uh, alright," Lincoln said, slowly getting back on his feet. Just then he went for a leg sweep but Natasha backflipped away. "Huh?"

"Nice try," Natasha said. "Don't be so predictable."

"Predictable!?" Lincoln said in disbelief. "Ugh, I am not letting that plague me again!"

"Whoa..." Stella said. "She's quick."

Lincoln looked annoyed, "Alright, so she is good. As expected from an Avenger." He got into a stance, "I'm coming at you again!"

"Don't tell me, just do it!" Natasha scolded.

Lincoln went to attack but Natasha parried and kicked his chest, stumbling the boy back. She then did a jumping back kick, knocking Lincoln for a loop before kicking him away.

"Nice moves," Christina said.

"Yeah! Go Nat!" Stella cheered.

"Hey! Who's side are you on!?" Lincoln asked.

"Focus!" Natasha went on the offense this time, Lincoln blocking most of her blows but could not handle Natasha's own sweep as he stumbled back, open for a kick to the face.

"Geez, my danger sense isn't working out too well," Lincoln mentally noted. Then got back on his feet, thinking over his next plan. "Let's see her fight blinded."

Lincoln fired a web at Natasha, the woman ducking and jumping in for a dive kick that knocked Lincoln down yet again. Lincoln got back up, desperately trying to attack but Natasha was quick to avoid him each time.

He then ran over to the wall and ricocheted off, but Natasha was able to dodge that too, then as soon as he landed, she did a takedown and pressed her forearm against his chest while pinning one hand down and used the other hand to block him from using his webs.

"Funny how she moves more like a spider than Lincoln does," Stella noted. "Even funnier that her name is spider themed as well."

"You're a strong boy, Lincoln, but that only gets you so far," Natasha said, helping the boy up. "You need technique if you want to maintain victory."

"Yeah, okay..." Lincoln said.

"Truth be told, it was foolish to go in like this without learning any type of fighting style," Natasha said. "Every hero learns a fighting style. Whether it's boxing, karate, tae-kwan-do, muy thai, or anything. You have to be able to know how to fight. Brute force and sloppy street brawling will only get you so far. It doesn't matter how strong you are, there's going to be someone stronger. It doesn't matter how fast you are, there's going to be someone faster. If you don't practice any type of martial art, you're going to get yourself killed. Do you understand?"

"I do," Lincoln reluctantly admitted.

"I'm only saying this so you can be safe, I want to see you grow into a great hero, I know you have what it takes," Natasha said.

"I appreciate your assistance," Lincoln said.

"Good to hear." Natasha dusted him off, then lifted his mask to further check up on him, "You're not too hurt, are you?"

"I'm fine," Lincoln insisted.

"Good, I was worried for second that I damaged that handsome face of yours," Natasha teased.

Lincoln turned away in embarrassment, "I'm fine, really."

"Sorry, didn't mean to get you flustered like this," Natasha said. "Take a moment to catch your breath, we're not quite done yet."

"Gonna keep beating him up?" Stella teased.

"Hey!" Lincoln shouted.

"No, I'm going to train him in martial arts for a bit," Natasha said.

"Can I join?" Christina asked.

"After Lincoln," Natasha said, focusing on the boy. "Alright, let's start with stances."

"Lincoln's lucky, he gets training from Black Widow," Stella thought to herself. "She's so nice in person, kind of felt bad for almost hating her when she was Rodavich. Still, I hope Iron Man is just as nice."

While this was happening, Jordan had gone home, dropping her back on the sofa, "I'm back!"

"Jordan honey!" Came her mother, Ashley. "Come, we have a guest."

"Really? Who?" Jordan asked, following her mother as she approached a familiar face. "No way..."

"It's your uncle Dimitri!" Ashley said, gesturing to the man. "Visiting all the way from New York."

"Hello uncle," Jordan said.

"It's good to see you again," Dimitri said. "It's been far too long."

The party was inching closer as Lincoln continued his preparations to being the best hero possible.
