Chapter 380: Arrival in Central Plains, The Killing Intent of the Soul Clan
The repair of the spatial wormhole didn't take too long.
About an hour later, Mo Yu and the others, who had their eyes closed, slowly opened them. Unlike Mo Yu, who looked energetic, the others had pale faces, clearly showing that the repair had drained a lot of their energy.
Mo Yu, however, felt a secret, satisfied smile tug at his lips as he sensed the Flash Void Thunder had grown several times stronger.
As they all returned to their senses, the slowly rotating spatial wormhole trembled slightly, and then silver light began to swirl around its edges. From afar, it looked like stars shining inside a black hole. The chaotic spatial energy that had been emanating from it also gradually dissipated.
"At last, it's fixed! Haha, thank you all. I, Luo Cheng, will remember this favor."
Feeling the wormhole return to normal functioning, Luo Cheng let out a hearty laugh. He turned and clasped his hands together, bowing respectfully to Mo Yu and the others.
However, despite his joy, Luo Cheng couldn't help but feel puzzled. During the repair, he noticed that even though the four of them were working together, a significant part of the success came from the mysterious disappearance of the large amounts of chaotic spatial energy, as if something had been devouring it bit by bit.
If not for that, the repair might have taken much longer.
Shaking his head, Luo Cheng didn't dwell on it too much. The wormhole was fixed, and that's what mattered.
"Are you alright?" Mo Yu stood up quickly and walked over to the Little Doctor Fairy, asking in a low voice.
"Just a bit drained," she shook her head slightly. Then, looking at the spirited Mo Yu, a thoughtful look flashed in her beautiful eyes.
"My friends, here is the reward I promised," Luo Cheng said with a smile, waving his hand as a jade box flew toward Mo Yu.
Mo Yu caught it and opened the box. Inside, a silver-white, oval-shaped magic core appeared before his eyes.
He touched the magic core with his fingers, feeling the thunder energy contained within it. After a moment, he nodded slightly.
A seventh-tier thunder-attribute magic core was quite valuable. However, the biggest gain this time was that the Flash Void Thunder had devoured a large amount of chaotic spatial energy and had reached full maturity.
This unexpected outcome surprised Mo Yu. He had only hoped for the Flash Void Thunder to grow a little, but the chaotic spatial energy within the wormhole had been far more abundant than expected.
Chaotic spatial energy was a threat to the wormhole, but to the Flash Void Thunder, it was excellent nourishment.
After consuming so much chaotic spatial energy, the Flash Void Thunder had reached maturity, just one step away from its peak.
However, Mo Yu estimated that this final step would require devouring the chaotic spatial energy of several more spatial wormholes.
A long road lay ahead...
Storing the jade box in his ring, Mo Yu narrowed his silver eyes slightly and asked, "Is the spatial wormhole ready for use now?"
"There shouldn't be any problem, but I'd still suggest waiting a little longer. After all, it was just repaired. Leaving now might not be safe."
Luo Cheng hesitated before responding.
"There's no need. We have urgent matters and can't stay here for long."
Mo Yu shook his head, speaking calmly. He had no desire to linger in Tianya City. Besides, both he and the Little Doctor Fairy had a good grasp of spatial energy, so they weren't concerned about the risks.
Hearing this, Luo Cheng could only nod regretfully. He took out a small wooden ship, about the size of a palm, from his ring.
The ship faintly shimmered with silver light, containing a trace of spatial power.
"This is a spatial ship, used for traveling through the spatial wormhole. It's extremely expensive—each one costs over a million. Normally, common folk couldn't afford such a thing. But since you've done such a great favor for my Luo family, take it as a gift of thanks."
Luo Cheng handed the wooden ship to Mo Yu with a smile.
Looking at the ship, Mo Yu, who had never seen a spatial ship since his rebirth, smiled lightly and accepted it.
"In that case, thank you, Elder Luo. If I return in the future, I'll be sure to visit and express my gratitude."
Mo Yu bowed slightly to Luo Cheng. Without further delay, he gestured to the Little Doctor Fairy, and the two of them walked to the edge of the spatial wormhole. Then, they both stepped in together.
The moment they entered, their figures disappeared instantly, as a faint silver light spread out, vanishing into the dark void of the wormhole.
As soon as they stepped into the wormhole, their vision turned black, and they briefly experienced a sensation of weightlessness. But just as quickly, that feeling disappeared.
Moments later, the spatial passage they had seen during the repair reappeared before them.
Looking around, Mo Yu saw the space walls on either side of the passage, formed by spatial energy. Beyond those walls lay endless darkness.
Seeing this, Mo Yu flicked his wrist, and the spatial ship appeared in his hand.
As soon as the small ship emerged, it began to expand like a fish entering water. In just a few seconds, it had grown into a vessel several meters long and wide.
"This ship is just the right size. It seems to be of high quality."
As Mo Yu spoke, he waved his hand, and a surge of energy flowed from his palm into the ship's energy inlet.
The ship trembled slightly, then a burst of thrust shot out from its rear, sending the ship streaking through the spatial passage like a silver streak of light, hurtling toward the void.
In the spatial passage, the speed of the ship was astonishing—so fast it could be described as racing through the stars.
The spatial wormhole connected two distant points, drastically shortening the distance between them.
By Mo Yu's calculations, it would take about twenty days to travel from the Black-Corner Region to the Central Plains. In the real world, such a journey would have taken at least six months.
At first, the journey was exciting due to its novelty, but it soon became monotonous. Mo Yu and the Little Doctor Fairy took turns providing energy for the ship, spending the rest of their time resting.
And so, time passed quietly amidst the monotony...
"Boom!"
On the seventeenth day, a sudden cry came from the front of the ship, causing Mo Yu's silver eyes to snap open. He rushed out of the cabin and scanned the area, noticing that the space walls had begun to blur.
"It seems an external force has disrupted the balance within the wormhole," Mo Yu said grimly.
The Little Doctor Fairy was stunned, then her face turned serious.
A surge of powerful energy erupted from her, enveloping the ship as it sped through the passage.
"We need to reach the Central Plains as soon as possible," Mo Yu added.
However, just ten minutes later, both Mo Yu and the Little Doctor Fairy's expressions grew even more solemn.
Before them, a silver storm of spatial energy had formed, completely blocking the passage. The storm wasn't particularly large, but it perfectly sealed off the way forward. The storm's suction power caused the ship to tremble violently, as if it was on the verge of breaking apart.
"A spatial storm," Mo Yu muttered, staring intently at the silver vortex that resembled a giant serpent.
"What do we do now?" the Little Doctor Fairy asked, her brows furrowed in concern. Even she could feel the oppressive power of the storm.
"We'll have to force our way through. Based on my guess, we're close to the exit. If we can reach it, we'll be free of the storm," Mo Yu said seriously.
"Prepare to charge. You focus on protecting the ship, and I'll handle the speed!"
"Got it."
The Little Doctor Fairy nodded without hesitation. Her body floated gracefully backward as a torrent of energy erupted from her, enveloping the ship completely.
"Go!"
With a shout, Mo Yu waved his hand, sending a surge of energy into the ship.
The powerful thrust turned the ship into a silver streak, shooting forward like an arrow.
With its speed pushed to the maximum, the ship became a silver blur, crossing vast distances in the blink of an eye. Then, it crashed into the raging silver storm.
Boom! Boom!
As soon as the ship entered the storm, it began shaking violently. The creaking of the ship echoed continuously, making it seem like a fragile boat struggling in a massive storm, about to be torn apart.
"Mo Yu! The exit is close!" the Little Doctor Fairy called out excitedly, her voice like a shot of adrenaline.
Mo Yu looked up and saw a silver ring of light in the distant darkness. That was the exit!
Before they could celebrate, a massive force of spatial energy crashed into the ship. The blow was so powerful that if not for the Little Doctor Fairy's protection, the ship would have shattered instantly.
"The ship is at its limit. If this continues, we'll be dragged back into the storm!"
Seeing the situation worsen, Mo Yu's silver eyes narrowed, and his face took on an unprecedented look of seriousness.
"You provide the energy to boost our speed. Leave the rest to me!"
As he spoke, Mo Yu's shoulders trembled, and a pair of massive bone wings unfolded.
With a flap of his wings, Mo Yu flew out of the ship and landed at its rear under the astonished gaze of the Little Doctor Fairy.
At the rear, Mo Yu waved his sleeve, sending a terrifying gust of wind that struck the ship, pushing it forward.
As soon as the ship was pushed ahead, a backlash of force hit Mo Yu, causing him to tremble slightly.
Activating his Thunder Armor, Mo Yu's muscles tensed as his wings flapped again. He returned to the rear of the ship, pushing it forward once more with a powerful shout. The ship, now a streak of silver light, shot toward the end of the passage.
In the next moment, it reached the end of the passage and disappeared into the silver glow.
Watching the ship safely escape, Mo Yu let out a sigh of relief. However, he quickly turned his attention to the approaching storm. His expression hardened.
Flapping his wings desperately, Mo Yu pushed his Flash Void Thunder to its limits, teleporting through the space to dodge the storm.
He could feel that if he slowed down even a little, he would be torn to pieces.
Fortunately, the Flash Void Thunder had grown stronger before entering the spatial passage, and with the help of his bone wings, Mo Yu narrowly avoided the dangerous storm.
After a frantic escape, Mo Yu finally approached the exit. Just as he was about to rush through, a chilling sensation spread across his skin. Instinctively, he dropped to the ground.
"Whoosh!"
A massive surge of silver spatial energy shot over his head like a silver serpent, slamming into the exit and sending waves of silver light everywhere.
In the midst of the explosion, Mo Yu suddenly felt a powerful suction force behind him. His heart tightened with caution.
With a flap of his bone wings, Mo Yu frowned as he glanced at the already safe Little Doctor Fairy. Then, he turned into a streak of silver light and darted through the glowing exit.
The moment Mo Yu passed through the silver light, his figure vanished. As soon as he disappeared, the space returned to silence, with only the raging spatial storm remaining, endlessly wreaking havoc.
...
This was a vast red and yellow desert, with the wind carrying sand across the dunes. The howling of the wind had an eerie chill to it.
In this desolate place, there was no sign of life, only endless sand and the sound of the wind.
The wind blew across a patch of yellow grass, which bent under the force. Hidden among the grass was a dark figure.
The figure slowly crawled out from the grass, revealing a young, handsome face. But the most striking feature was his mysterious, silver eyes.
This man was none other than Mo Yu, who had narrowly escaped the spatial passage. As he surveyed his surroundings, he barely had time to catch his breath when a cold, ghostly voice echoed through the air.
"Hehe, to escape from a spatial storm... impressive, truly worthy of the Thunder Clan's genius…"
Before Mo Yu could react, a strange black vortex appeared in the space before him. From it emerged a sinister-looking elder, leaning on a staff with a ghostly skull at its top.
Seeing this man, Mo Yu's expression darkened.
"It's you... Ghost Staff Elder!"
