Ares didn't speak for a while, only just observed Lewis carefully.
When he spoke again, he had successfully gathered his thoughts.
He cleared his throat. "Why were you staring at that painting as if it was very familiar to you?"
Lewis looked up from his head that was resting in his palm, and moved his head to the painting. "I've painted something like that before. Very similar," he whispered through quivering lips.
Ares' brow lifted a little. "Interesting," he said.
"How?" Lewis asked, turning to gaze at his face.
"That painting belongs to my father. It was very dear to him, so I didn't think twice about keeping it. This used to be my favourite office in Kolasi, so it was no brainer when I had to decide where to hang the painting." His eyes dimmed a Faraway expression as he looked through Lewis and rested on the painting.
"Sorry," Lewis said after a few awkward seconds.
"Whatever for?" Ares made a scoffing sound at the back of his throat.
