The meteor collided with the bear's head.
Chris and Mustard had already evacuated the battlefield.
The two observed from high above in the sky.
The crimson meteor and the giant spectral bear's head crashed together. Powerful energy clashed violently, creating endless explosions. The shockwaves spread outward in all directions, and the sky above fell into brief darkness.
At some point, the originally clear sky had become filled with ominous dark clouds, accompanied by lightning and thunder.
The collision between these two Pokémon's ultimate moves had affected the weather itself—even the very fabric of space.
Neither Pokémon possessed the natural ability to control weather patterns. This meteorological change was simply a chain reaction caused by the sheer surge of raw power.
As someone who had fused three orbs and possessed physical capabilities that could rival legendary Pokémon, Chris could perceive unusual phenomena through his enhanced senses.
At the epicenter of the battle between Blaziken and Urshifu, space itself had become distorted.
There were even fine cracks appearing in the air.
"Destructive power capable of breaking space," Chris thought, his mind turning to Palkia, the God of Space.
If an attack possessed enough destructive force to fracture space, it meant it could potentially cause damage to Palkia itself.
On the battlefield, the intense stalemate between Mega Blaziken and Urshifu didn't last long.
In just a single moment, Chris and Mustard heard a tremendous "BANG!"
The fiery red meteor had pierced through the dark giant bear!
"BOOM!"
The massive bear head exploded instantly, consumed entirely by the flames.
The next moment—
Mega Blaziken's devastating kick struck Urshifu square in the chest!
"BOOM!!!"
The ground beneath Challenge Beach trembled violently, as if a magnitude 9 earthquake had struck.
Not only did people on the Isle of Armor rush out of their buildings in panic, but residents of the Galar Region near the isle were also shaken by the terrifying vibrations. Massive waves tens of meters high rose along the coastal cliffs.
Thick black smoke billowed upward, rising straight into the sky as if attempting to merge with the dark storm clouds above.
The battle appeared to be decided.
However, neither Chris nor Mustard rushed to conclusions. They waited quietly for the smoke to clear.
Once the trembling subsided, the billowing black smoke was swept away by a powerful gust of wind.
A massive crater approximately one kilometer in diameter was revealed, plunging hundreds of meters deep. After the flames had extinguished, white smoke continued to rise from the charred earth.
Mega Blaziken had reverted from its Mega Evolution and now stood at the edge of the crater, staring intently toward the center.
At the heart of the enormous pit, Urshifu lay motionless on the ground. Seawater had begun seeping in from below, lifting its body slightly off the scorched earth.
The outcome of the battle was now clear.
Urshifu had lost its ability to battle—Blaziken was victorious!
However, the referee had already fled the scene, so no one was present to announce the official result.
Not that an announcement was necessary.
Mustard retrieved his Poké Ball and recalled Urshifu.
"Your strength has improved once again," Mustard acknowledged with respect.
"Not enough," Chris replied, though he reached out and retrieved his own Poké Ball to recall Blaziken.
Blaziken versus Urshifu—Blaziken had won, but it was merely a pyrrhic victory. It had no capacity to continue fighting in the next match.
In a true clash of ultimate techniques, Urshifu had taken the full force of Mega Blaziken's "Crimson Knight Kick," which meant Mega Blaziken had also been forced to endure the "Wicked Blow."
While Mega Blaziken may have surpassed Urshifu in terms of raw offensive power, its physical endurance and defensive capabilities weren't sufficient to completely withstand Wicked Blow's devastating force.
This was likely the natural outcome of a battle between two "one-hit-kill" specialists.
Both Urshifu and Mega Blaziken only needed a single move to defeat their opponent.
Mustard pulled out another Poké Ball and released it.
The Pokémon that materialized was very familiar—it was still an Urshifu, but with some subtle differences.
The Single Strike Style Urshifu's fur stood upright like an unsheathed blade, projecting an aura of sharp aggression. In contrast, this Urshifu's fur hung naturally, its presence understated, appearing almost harmless.
However, Chris understood the truth perfectly well.
This Urshifu was Mustard's strongest Pokémon.
Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) LV98
The Rapid Strike Style Urshifu was completely different from the Single Strike Style, which pursued victory through one decisive blow. This style emphasized relentless attacks, seamlessly integrating offense and defense into an impeccable fighting form.
One represented "overwhelming power," while the other embodied "supreme technique"!
Single Strike Style Urshifu might lose strength with age, their combat effectiveness declining over time.
But Rapid Strike Style Urshifu was the complete opposite.
The older they became, the more combat experience they accumulated, and the more refined their offensive techniques grew!
"If I'm going to battle a Rapid Strike Style Urshifu..." Chris considered for a moment before selecting a Luxury Ball.
"Let me see the results of your recent training as well."
The Poké Ball opened in midair, and a large white-furred cat landed gracefully.
"Ora!" Zeraora raised both hands high with fierce determination. It hovered in midair, its lightning-sharp eyes fixed on the Rapid Strike Style Urshifu.
It remembered having battled an Urshifu before.
That's right—when Chris had first approached Mustard seeking to become his student, he had used Zeraora in that battle.
"Urshifu, Aqua Jet!"
Mustard issued his attack command, his eyes intensely focused.
At this moment, he seemed to have returned to the arena where he first stood in the Pokémon League finals, filled with unlimited dreams and aspirations of challenging the strongest Champion.
Urshifu stepped forward and tapped the ground lightly. A blue glow appeared, like afternoon sunlight reflecting off a lake's surface, shimmering through the leaves.
In that brief instant, Urshifu had already appeared directly in front of Zeraora. There was no need for Mustard to issue follow-up commands—the veteran master's attack had already begun as if reading his trainer's thoughts.
"Bullet Punch!"
Urshifu thrust its arms forward, and they became phantoms in the blink of an eye.
Immediately, within a hundred-meter radius, silver light flashed repeatedly, as if thousands of machine guns were firing at Zeraora without pause.
"Thud thud thud!"
The vibrations in space became so dense they seemed to merge into a continuous roar.
Facing such an overwhelming barrage, at most five of Chris's Pokémon could block it, and only two could dodge it without taking damage.
The first was Gardevoir equipped with the Lustrous Orb, using the combination of Future Sight and Teleport to evade Bullet Punch entirely.
The other Pokémon was Zeraora itself.
Its pupils dilated slightly as electricity crackled across its white fur.
An invisible electromagnetic field expanded outward, covering a hundred-meter radius and creating a world of its own.
In an instant, Zeraora transformed into a phantom, weaving through countless silver projectiles!
