[4. Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza will now appear at specified locations]

Chris studied this message thoughtfully.

This was essentially the game's second playthrough—the post-game content.

Now that he had entered the post-game phase, he could finally attempt to capture the Legendary Pokemon.

Chris had always suspected that the dungeon mode restrictions prevented him from using Master Balls to capture Legendary Pokemon during the main storyline.

The specified locations where these legendary beasts resided varied depending on the game version.

Since he was playing Emerald version, he remembered that Kyogre should be located in the "Marine Cave." However, this Marine Cave wasn't stationary—it would randomly appear on water routes 105, 125, 127, and 129. To determine the Marine Cave's current location, he would need to visit the Weather Institute and ask the director about current weather patterns.

Groudon's location was the "Terra Cave," which followed the same random appearance pattern as Kyogre's Marine Cave.

As for Rayquaza, if everything followed the standard game progression, it should have returned to Sky Pillar to rest after the main story events where Chris had awakened it during the crisis.

However, since this version clearly wasn't ordinary Emerald, Chris couldn't be certain about the three legendary Pokemon's exact positions.

"Whether I can use Master Balls or not, let's try to find them directly. At the very least, I should confirm their locations first," Chris decided.

He headed downstairs from his room.

Both his mother and father Norman were present in the living room.

Norman: "I heard you became the Hoenn Region Champion. You're truly my son!"

Norman approached and gave the protagonist an enthusiastic hug.

Norman: "Since you've become Champion, you must accept the responsibilities that come with the title. Remember to visit the Pokemon League regularly. There are many issues that only you, as Champion, can resolve."

Norman: "By the way, do you know Mr. Scott? He recently constructed a Battle Frontier facility in Hoenn. If you're interested, you should check it out."

[Acquired Item: Battle Frontier S.S. Ticket]

After speaking, Norman turned and walked away.

With the S.S. Ticket in hand, the Battle Frontier was now accessible.

Chris waited for a moment, but his mother didn't seem to have anything particular to say to him.

"Shouldn't there be a post-game plot here where I choose between Latias and Latios?" Chris frowned, controlling his character to speak with his mother and examine the television.

In the original games, his mother would have him watch TV and then ask questions to determine whether Latias or Latios would appear in the Hoenn Region.

He tried talking to his mother and checking the TV, but both interactions yielded irrelevant responses.

Apparently, the game wasn't giving him the opportunity to encounter the other "Guardian of Alto Mare."

Well, I already have one guardian of Alto Mare, so I don't really need the other one anyway.

Upon leaving the house, Professor Birch was waiting for Chris. The Professor escorted him to the laboratory to upgrade his Pokedex.

Chris's Pokedex was now the National Pokedex.

That's right—the National Pokedex recorded all Pokemon from every region Chris had visited.

The records contained relatively few entries for Legendary Pokemon, except for Zeraora and Latias, which Chris had already captured.

Legendary Pokemon that hadn't been captured appeared as shadowed silhouettes in the Pokedex, waiting for Chris to capture them and complete their entries.

Professor Birch: "I hope you can truly complete this National Pokedex. This has been my lifelong dream. Please, I'm counting on you."

Professor, you make it sound so simple when you ask me to do it.

To complete the National Pokedex, Chris would need to capture every single Legendary Pokemon.

Are you kidding me?

Chris silently accepted the upgraded Pokedex and left the laboratory.

He summoned Salamence and flew to Fortree City, then headed toward the Weather Institute—the same location where he had once repelled Team Aqua and obtained a Castform.

On the second floor, Chris spoke with the Weather Institute director.

To his surprise, the director didn't provide any information about weather changes in the Hoenn Region, offering only mechanical and meaningless responses.

"So either Groudon and Kyogre's locations are different from the games I played in my previous life, meaning I can't determine their whereabouts through the Weather Institute..."

"Or perhaps they simply aren't available yet, and I'll need to check back with the director later?"

Chris frowned thoughtfully.

It seemed like the search for Groudon and Kyogre would have to wait.

He decided to check on Rayquaza first.

Chris flew to Sootopolis City and approached Sky Pillar through the water routes.

This time, entering Sky Pillar wasn't in dungeon mode but rather standard exploration mode. He made his way all the way to the pillar's summit.

Rayquaza wasn't there either, but a staircase made of clouds had appeared at the end of the rooftop path. When Chris tried to interact with it, a dungeon prompt appeared.

[Enter dungeon "Sky Stairway"? Yes/No]

[Recommended Entry Level: 85]

[Note: Rayquaza is not currently present in this dungeon. Access to this dungeon is restricted.]

Rayquaza wasn't home, and the dungeon remained locked.

Since he couldn't find any of them in Hoenn and Rayquaza had no accessible location, it seemed he would have to abandon the idea of capturing them for now.

Chris decided to visit the Hoenn Region Pokemon League first.

Both the Hoenn Region Champion cape's description and his father Norman's advice emphasized that becoming Hoenn Champion came with additional responsibilities.

This element was completely absent from the original games.

He should investigate to see what new content was available.

Using Salamence, Chris flew to Ever Grande City and the Pokemon League where he had challenged the Elite Four.

Upon entering the Pokemon League building, all the staff members saluted Chris respectfully.

With the Champion cape equipped, everyone spoke much more politely to him.

After interacting with and investigating various people and areas, Chris finally discovered his "mission board" in a corner office.

[Recently, large numbers of berserk Pokemon have appeared on Route 108. According to investigations, the source of the Pokemon's rage appears to be an abandoned ship. Due to numerous powerful Pokemon in the surrounding area, investigators cannot approach safely. The Elite Four and Champion are requested to eliminate the source of the Pokemon rampage.]

[Team Rocket members have been frequently spotted in waters near Dewford Town. Investigators approached but found no evidence. It's suspected that Pokemon abilities may be involved. The Elite Four and Champion are requested to investigate the situation.]

[On Route 107, an unknown and mysterious island was discovered. When investigators approached, the unknown island vanished. It has been confirmed this was not a mirage, and no immediate danger has been detected. Additional personnel are requested to investigate the situation.]

These were incidents that the lower-level Pokemon League investigators couldn't resolve, or situations involving unexplained phenomena.

When they couldn't handle these cases, they reported them to the Pokemon League for the Elite Four and Champion to address personally.
