The pitch-black, sinister energy of Pursuit struck like a curse, followed by the red light retracting Politoed into its Poke Ball.

Wallace suddenly realized that his Politoed was already finished.

Looking back at the battlefield, only Zeraora remained standing.

"Heh," observing the heavy rainfall, Wallace smiled bitterly.

Politoed hadn't created a suitable environment for his other Pokemon to thrive—instead, it had constructed a "death trap."

No matter which Pokemon he sent out next, it would inevitably face a devastating "Thunder" attack.

"So be it!" Wallace murmured quietly, taking a Poke Ball from his belt and releasing it.

Suddenly, a massive blue catfish crashed onto the ground!

"BOOM!" The impact sounded like an earthquake.

Its plump body was surrounded by a layer of transparent aura, and its "wise" eyes stared blankly ahead, as if it had glimpsed the fundamental truths of the universe. It appeared to be another sage of the Pokemon world, rivaling even the legendary "Slowking" in apparent wisdom.

His second Pokemon was Whiscash—and not just any Whiscash, but a Totem Whiscash!

The combination of Water-type and Ground-type meant it was no longer vulnerable to Electric-type moves, but could actually counter Electric-types effectively.

This was his strategy for dealing with Electric Pokemon.

Without such countermeasures, he never could have secured the championship position.

"Dynamax!"

Facing a legendary Pokemon, Wallace didn't dare take any chances, immediately activating Dynamax.

Additionally, given Whiscash's massive size and sluggish speed that made dodging impossible, he decided to simply enhance its defensive capabilities through Dynamax transformation.

As the giant blue sandbag landed on the battlefield, the real battle was about to begin.

"Whiscash, Z-Move: Tectonic Rage!" Wallace displayed his Z-Power bracelet, going straight for a finishing move!

Khaki energy erupted from his body, striking the Dynamax Whiscash.

The wise Whiscash quickly twisted its hefty body, lowered its head slightly, and plunged into the earth.

In the next instant, the entire battlefield floor shattered completely, forming a massive abyss.

From the bottom of the chasm, Whiscash twisted its corpulent form and charged upward, wrapped in Z-Crystal power from its master Wallace. Its mission was to launch the Zeraora that had fallen into the abyss straight into "outer space"!

However... somewhat beyond Wallace and the four Elite Four's expectations, even though the battlefield had been shattered into a deep crater—an abyss—Zeraora still hadn't fallen in, but instead floated calmly in mid-air.

"Can Zeraora actually fly?" Sidney wondered aloud.

"You're asking me? Who should I ask? I'm meeting Zeraora for the first time too," Phoebe replied, spreading her hands and looking toward Drake.

"I don't know anyone who's tamed a Zeraora either," Drake shook his head slightly.

Glacia crossed her arms and offered her own theory: "Perhaps it's using Magnet Rise from the Electric-type moveset?"

"Zeraora, ascend higher and use Spiral Aura Sphere!" Chris commanded.

In his assessment, the Ground-type Z-Move "Tectonic Rage" was essentially an enhanced version of Dig.

Both attacks originated from underground, but Tectonic Rage possessed far greater power and range.

Yet like most Ground-type moves such as Stomping Tantrum, Earthquake, and Magnitude, once a Pokemon left the ground, the attack became completely ineffective.

"ROAR!" The gigantic Totem Whiscash soared through the air, its mouth gaping wide like an abyssal maw, attempting to devour everything above.

But Zeraora had already risen into the air, continuously gaining altitude and accelerating, while Whiscash—having launched itself from the abyss—was steadily losing momentum.

The two were like bird and fish, destined never to "embrace" or even properly engage each other.

What would follow would be Zeraora's unilateral massacre! Whiscash could only serve as a punching bag.

A Spiral Aura Sphere condensed on the pad in the center of Zeraora's right paw. With a swift motion, the Aura Sphere rocketed downward at tremendous speed!

"Hydro Pump!" Wallace shouted desperately.

With "Tectonic Rage" proving ineffective, he could only seek alternative strategies.

Mimicking a Magikarp's "Splash" attack, Whiscash released a torrential azure stream from its mouth. Visually, it appeared comparable to Kyogre's own Hydro Pump.

But Whiscash was no Kyogre. The Spiral Aura Sphere struck the Hydro Pump, and everyone watched as the water column was blocked, as if capped with a lid, being pushed down incrementally until it was forced back into Whiscash's mouth.

"BOOM!"

A violent explosion erupted from within Whiscash's mouth, sending countless water droplets splashing everywhere along with a cloud of smoke.

"Whis~" Whiscash's wise eyes widened further, becoming even more profoundly enlightened. Its body writhed violently from the pain as it plummeted back into the abyss.

But Chris wouldn't allow it to escape so easily.

With its Ground-typing, Whiscash treated the earth as its "pond." Once it retreated underground, there was no telling when they'd be able to catch it again.

"Aura Sphere Barrage!" Chris commanded.

Zeraora raised both hands, the aura force condensing on the pads of its left and right paws. These weren't Spiral Aura Spheres, so the condensation speed was extremely rapid.

Approximately every two seconds, an Aura Sphere formed.

Once condensed, Zeraora immediately hurled the Aura Sphere downward, then began forming another, repeating the process continuously. Due to Whiscash's massive size, Zeraora didn't even need to aim carefully.

Moreover, Aura Sphere automatically targeted its intended opponent!

Have you ever witnessed a bombing run in action?

Zeraora had become the bomber aircraft, Aura Spheres were the munitions, and they were heat-seeking missiles!

"BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!"

The battlefield erupted like a string of firecrackers, creating a deafening cacophony.

"Chris's mastery of Aura Sphere techniques is incredible!" Sidney, who had been devastated by the Spiral Aura Sphere earlier, quietly wiped away his sweat.

From the Spiral Aura Sphere that could pierce through other moves to the standard aura bombs now being used as bomber ammunition, everything demonstrated that Chris had achieved remarkable proficiency with aura power—at least along the path of Aura Sphere mastery.

"Whiscash is unable to battle! Zeraora wins!" the referee announced the result.

Overwhelmed by countless Aura Spheres, another explosion echoed from the abyss. Even though Whiscash possessed naturally thick hide, was a Totem Pokemon, and had undergone Dynamax enhancement, the outcome remained unchanged.

Having fallen into the chasm without re-emerging, Trainer Wallace could only retrieve his Poke Ball and recall his Pokemon.

However, what concerned everyone wasn't Whiscash's fate—the four Elite Four members were contemplating Wallace's situation.

What Pokemon should Wallace send out next?

Did Wallace still possess any Pokemon capable of battling against Electric-types?
