On the ashen barrow a root of the tree was going outside the ash and hiding 3 sleepers, who were ready to run at full speed to the island. As the disembodied centsurion was making its way to the island carrying a soul shard a scavanger demon was making its way to the shore of the island.
When the demon was almost there the 3 sleepers were already running to the tree, when the demon noticed them the centaurion attacked the demon and trew itself on him and went balistic. It didn't take long for the demon to destroy the echo.

'Damnation!, we need a few seconds to get there.' The 3 sleepers were close to the branch, one already climbing it, the other 2 assisting. When the last sleeper finaly made it, the first used the memory they just summoned to blow the wind and get rid of the foot steps they left.
When the demon stoped looking sunny sudenly called out shouting:" OVER HERE YOU DAMNED DEMON, YOUR TOO STUPID TO GET US, HAHAHA" after the demon made its way to the branch of the tree the shouting came from it was sudenly wet from some acid. The next second it was aflame from the burning stick hiting its tough shell and burning the liquid..
The dark sea was shaking, the 3 sleepers were having their eyes shut as to not look at anything that is to come out the water. When the demon made its way to the monster that came out of the water it instantly attacked and it was ruthless while fighting it.
"Open your eyes sunny" it was cassies voice, the monster was using the same trick as the first time, he wouldn't fall for it this time either.
"OPEN YOUR EYES SUNLESS" again with the yelling, soo anoying.
When the sound of attacking came to a stop and warm sunlight came to the island, the sleepers opened their eyes and got ready once again to fight that stupid peice of shit demon. When sunny and nephis jumped down, sunny augmented himself with his shadow and neph made her sword shine with white radiance.
"OVER HERE STUPID DEMON" sunny called out to the demon who was severly injured and with fury in its eyes.
It started running at sunny who barely avoided the atack from the pincers and blocked the bone scythes, nephis was behind it and just cut down one of its hind legs and backing away to not get hit by the bone scythes. The sleepers were doing everything to damage the demon and change the center of gravity as mutch as possible to make it harder for it to hit them. After sunny cut down one of the scythes he blocked the other one by sliding under the demon, it was risky but he was closer to the heart of the demon witch was easier to destroy because it was mostly revealed by damage from the sea monster and it was too slow to react to him stabing it.

Sunny was glad to hear the spell anounce the kill but he had to go away from the demon before it crushed him to death.
When sunny got away from the demon, he fell to the fround and sighed loudly. He was happy about what happaned.
"Neph, you aren't gonna belive this. I got the memory and the echo. I'm sorry if we find an awakened titan tomorow."
Neph was making her way over stuned by what sunny just said made her angry. She was visibly frustrated by the fact he had sutch good luck, she hadn't ever hear of someone geting a memory and echo from the same kill. It was unheard of and so un fair, she only got 2 memories from the whole jurney. "I'm not gonna forgive you, but im glad for you. Atleast its gonna be very usefull." Neph healed him and then went to take cassie, they neded to quickly return to the previous place that they could escape the dark sea. It was to dangerous to stay on the island.
"Lets go we need to hurry up, i know you are tired but lets go." Neph said to cassie as she helped her climb down the tree. When they came to sunny he was holding the demons shards in his hands and puting them in his backpack. He was ready to go by the time they came to him.
Sunny wanted to summon the demon echo but knew it would be hard to use it in the labyrinth and it would make them stand out witch they didn't want. Sunny was carying cassie on his back while running behind nephis, he was kinda slow but that was because he had to scout ahead and couldn't buff himself. He didn't want to make nephis suffer by augmenting him so he made his best effort to avoid danger and return to their previous stronghold.
When they made it up, neph started cooking the food from the scavangers the killed on the way. Sunny was laying down with closed eyes ready to sleep, but knew it was to early. When sunny smeled the food nephis made he was ready to stuff his face full of the food. Before that he took out the soul shards and handed them to neph.
Neph took them and crushed 2 and gave the rest to cassie. When sunny was done with the food he finaly took a look at his runes, they read:

In just a month he was able to get more than 200 fragments, he was very happy, tommorow he could get a lot more if Vile thieving birds egg was still there. He didn't know if it would be there but he had high hopes, if not the drop of ichor than he wanted the fragments.
"Tommorow we should visit the island and make a boat, while you are doing that i'm going to check for something on the top of the tree."
Both cassie and neph nodded in agrement, they knew what sunny wanted to check and knew they couldn't help in that. So they told him to be carefull.
The next morning the trio went to the island to do what they agred on yesterday. Sunny started climbing the tree, nephis sat cassie near herself and started working on the boat. After a few hours of climbing sunny finaly got to the top of the stupid tree, and finaly saw the nest and aproached it. Inside he saw the egg of the vile thieving bird, but it was starting to crack, sunny was frightened he instantly summoned the midnigh shard and augmented it with his shadow. He was able to hit the egg but the spell didn't anounce the kill. Then a head of a little bird poped out.
