'Is...is he pawning our things for petty cash?'
Noe rubbed the bridge of his nose in deep frustration, 'Yes. It certainly looks that way.'
'Did he not even try to look for the safe? We went through all that trouble putting together a new identity for him. There's even a bank account and an Amex with no credit limit...is he slow? Did we miss something?'
'Unfortunately, yes. Who the hell wouldn't look for a safe? Is it us? Did we expect too much?'
'No...no it's him. He's completely hopeless.'
Noe groaned in agreement. The thought of leaving him to fend for himself caused an unfamiliar twist of nerves in his stomach that he immediately despised.
'Ugh. I don't like this feeling. It's like watching a baby deer stumble around on the ice.'
