The guard room was filled with darkness, but it wasn't completely dark; the screen that was still functioning emitted a faint light, being the only remaining light source.
"Dammit! You're looking for death!"
The thief dressed in a superhero costume and mask, after confirming Lin Yi's figure, did not draw his weapon but instead approached directly.
Clearly, he had a lot of confidence in his abilities.
However, when someone is capable of jumping and performing a flying kick, anyone would feel incredible.
"Although I don't know who you are, you shouldn't show yourself right now... Ah!"
The superhero hadn't finished speaking when Lin Yi kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying backward, crashing forcefully into the table, groaning in pain.
"Dammit!"
Although they couldn't see the superhero being kicked back, the other thieves could judge by his painful screams what had happened.
They quickly drew their weapons and nervously aimed at where Lin Yi had been, shooting frantically.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The bullets hit the wall, becoming deeply embedded in it.
"Where is he?"
"I don't know."
"Be careful."
Suddenly transitioning from light to darkness, they couldn't immediately adjust, nervously looking around in complete darkness.
At that moment, Lin Yi had already arrived behind one of the thieves. With a swift motion, he delivered a solid blow to the thief's neck with the knife. The thief, as if someone had pressed the stop button on him, immediately collapsed, losing all rigidity.
Lin Yi held him and, with great care, placed him on the ground without making a sound.
"Where is he?"

"Why don't we... turn on the lights?"
One of the thieves suggested.
However, after he finished speaking, no one responded, leaving him confused.
Then, fear began to invade him, his legs started trembling: "Eh? Why aren't they answering me?"
"Maruyama?"
Lin Yi squinted his eyes, standing behind the thief, and whispered in his ear: "They're already dead."
The sudden voice startled the thief, who let out a strange scream and quickly spun around, squeezing the trigger: "Die, die, die! Dammit!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang... clack!"
He fired all the ammunition.
"Ah... ah... are they dead?"
The thief murmured nervously.
"Are you asking me?" Lin Yi's voice echoed again, startling the thief, who dropped his gun and ran toward the door. But as soon as he started running, his stomach hit the edge of the table. He screamed in pain and quickly covered his stomach, circling the table and running toward the door.
He barely made it out when a punch struck his abdomen, and Akemi, with skill, took care of him.
"Tch!"
Lin Yi turned on the light, seeing that the superhero hadn't fainted but was still lying on the table, clutching his stomach and struggling to resist.
Lin Yi approached carefully and struck his neck, rendering him completely unconscious.
Akemi crossed through the thieves and entered the guard room, seeing the guards tied up and a woman in uniform. She paused for a moment: "What's... going on here?"
"It seems there was some kind of accident..."
Lin Yi began searching the thieves' backpacks, pulling out a rope and adhesive tape. He used the rope to tie up the kidnappers: "Someone else is watching us... someone else has set their sights on this mall..."
"Is it that casual?"
Akemi said, surprised: "Two criminal groups targeting the same mall? The probability of that..."
Akemi didn't know what to say.
"But this is good; it saves us unnecessary work."
Lin Yi said, quickly tying up the four thieves, taping their mouths and eyes with the adhesive tape.
Akemi nodded, walked over to the monitoring console, and smiled: "Great... they've erased all the monitors, we just have to make sure they don't automatically save..."
As she said this, her fingers began moving rapidly on the control panel: "Done... now we just need to cut the alarms on the counters."
With that, she pressed a red button.
"Done."
Akemi turned around and gave Lin Yi an OK gesture, smiling: "Now we can go without any worries..."
Saying this, Akemi felt a bit resigned: "If we had known they were coming... we wouldn't have had to do so much work investigating... seems like it wasn't necessary."
"Oh, really?" Lin Yi approached, smiling slightly as he pressed against her back, touching her waist, and whispered: "I don't think so."
Akemi blushed, remembering what had happened in the locker room. She hurried away, saying: "Let's quickly go to the sixth floor, take what we need, and leave before this drags on."
"Mm."
Seeing Akemi hurriedly running away, Lin Yi smiled with satisfaction: "But before we leave... I have one more thing to do."
"Mm?" Akemi turned to look at him, confused: "What else do you need to do?"
"That's—"
Lin Yi said as he suddenly spun around and kicked. This kick hit the elevator receptionist squarely in the face.
"Ugh!"
The receptionist fell to the ground, instinctively supporting herself with her hands.
At that moment, she realized something was wrong. She hadn't drawn her weapon from her waist yet when Lin Yi had already stepped on her hands, preventing her from drawing it, no matter how much she tried.
"You...?"
Although the receptionist couldn't see anything because her eyes were covered, she lifted her head: "How do you know..."
"It's easy." Lin Yi began his speech of arrogance: "Because seeing a woman in uniform in the security room really doesn't make sense."
"And also, I've always been on the first floor. If the thieves had broken in forcefully, I would have heard something, but I heard nothing. So, there must be someone inside collaborating!"
"Couldn't I have hidden and left after the mall closed?"
The receptionist retorted.
"Haha, you ask too many questions, I'm not going to answer that many."
Lin Yi sneered, and with a quick motion, he struck her neck with his hand, rendering her unconscious immediately.
He tied her up with her own rope and taped her mouth and eyes.
Lin Yi shook his hands and told Akemi, who was surprised:
"Done, let's go."
