"How do you use the Reversed Cursed Technique?"
A pair of narrow, crimson eyes opened on Yukinoshita Haruno's cheek, looking at the young white-haired guy in front of them with confusion.
"You don't even know how to use the Reversed Cursed Technique?"
"…I do." Gojo Satoru gritted his teeth as he spoke.
Even though the guy's tone sounded normal, for some reason, the white-haired boy could still sense mockery and ridicule in his words, which made him extremely irritated.
Standing nearby, Geto Suguru shrugged, both amused and helpless.
Even though Gojo Satoru had sworn he'd rather die than ask Hayashizaki for help, he couldn't stand Shoko's relentless teasing. So, after getting Yukinoshita Haruno's contact from Amanai Riko, he came here anyway.
And since Yukinoshita Haruno heard he was looking for Hayashizaki, she didn't refuse and agreed to meet Gojo and Geto.
Before meeting them, Yukinoshita Haruno didn't quite understand why they had chosen such a remote place in the countryside. But now, she got it.
They were here to ask for guidance.
"So, do you have any tips or tricks?" Gojo Satoru forced himself to stay calm and spread his hands as he asked.
"It's simple. It's just like how two negatives make a positive. You take the cursed energy and—"
"I know the theory, obviously! But I just can't do it!" Gojo Satoru cut off Hayashizaki's explanation. "Controlling cursed energy isn't the same as solving a math problem. What I don't get is how to actually turn negative cursed energy into positive cursed energy."
"The only person around me who understands it explains it in such a confusing way that I can't understand a thing!" Just thinking about Shoko mocking him for lacking talent made Gojo Satoru fume with anger.
"I see." As soon as Hayashizaki finished speaking, Yukinoshita Haruno suddenly realized that one of her hands had moved on its own, rubbing her smooth chin.
"Let me ask you—how do you use the normal flow of your Limitless Technique?" Hayashizaki thought for a moment before asking.
"Huh? The normal flow? You just inject regular negative cursed energy into the innate technique engraved in your body. That's the normal flow, right?" Gojo Satoru paused for a second but quickly gave his answer. "And when you inject positive cursed energy into the technique, that's the reversal. That's just common sense."
"You're right." Hayashizaki nodded in agreement, then suddenly smacked his lips and said, "Man, I'm thirsty. It's so hot today. A cold beer would be perfect right now."
After saying that, he went completely silent and retreated back into Yukinoshita Haruno's body.
Haruno shook her head with a laugh and then turned to the two people in front of her. "You saw that, right? That guy doesn't listen to me either."
Gojo Satoru gritted his teeth and glared at the short-haired girl.
"Staring at me won't help." Yukinoshita Haruno couldn't hold back her laughter.
"That guy doesn't take anything seriously, so who else am I supposed to glare at?" Gojo Satoru grumbled.
Just when he thought Hayashizaki was finally about to say something useful, the guy decided to mess with him instead, making Gojo's blood pressure spike.
But since he really wanted to hear what Hayashizaki had to say, he grumpily flew over to the nearest vending machine and bought the cheapest can of beer.
He casually tossed it toward Yukinoshita Haruno, but before she could react, her arm moved on its own. Hayashizaki had taken control, catching the can mid-air.
Rolling her eyes, the short-haired girl quietly stepped aside, fully handing over her body to Hayashizaki.
"Now will you keep talking?" Gojo Satoru asked, clearly annoyed.
With a sharp pop, Hayashizaki cracked open the can and took a big gulp. Then, raising the beer can toward the frustrated white-haired boy, he suddenly turned it upside down, letting the golden liquid spill onto the ground.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing!?" Gojo Satoru frowned, immediately suspecting that Hayashizaki was messing with him again.
But in the next second, a spark of realization flashed in his mind, and he froze.
"Wait… Cursed energy addition… is flow?" Gojo Satoru furrowed his brows, feeling like he had grasped something for a split second, only for it to slip away again. "It's true—if I want to increase a technique's power, I just have to boost the amount of cursed energy I channel into it. If I think of that as adding cursed energy, then it makes sense…"
"But what about multiplication?"
Just as Gojo Satoru was deep in thought, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his head. A pale fist landed right on his skull, and within moments, a swollen bump appeared.
"Hey! What are you doing now? Can't you see I'm at a critical moment… Wait, are you trying to say that cursed energy multiplication happens when they collide!?"
Gojo Satoru's eyes widened in realization.
"Smart kid," Hayashizaki said, barely holding back a laugh.
"But… controlling cursed energy to clash inside my body—are you sure that won't cause any problems? Like, I don't know… blowing myself up?" Gojo didn't rush to try it. He hesitated, clearly concerned.
"I have a shortcut," Hayashizaki chuckled.
"Oh? That sounds interesting." The white-haired boy raised an eyebrow, his face full of doubt. Even Geto Suguru, standing beside him, looked intrigued.
A shortcut for Reverse Cursed Technique?
Could the reason why so few sorcerers could use it be because there wasn't a proper way to train for it?
"What's the shortcut?" Gojo asked, eager to try.
But before he even finished speaking, his pupils suddenly shrank.
Through the vision of the Six Eyes, he saw the flow of cursed energy in Hayashizaki's body speed up—undeniably a sign of an incoming attack.
But the speed was far beyond anything Gojo had expected. By the time he sensed the danger and instinctively tried to activate Limitless, his body was already frozen in place.
*Squelch!*
"Wh—!?"
Geto stared, stunned, as a small hand, dripping with fresh blood, pierced through his best friend's chest. Droplets of blood slowly dripped from the fingertips.
What was even more horrifying was that the hand was gripping a heart—still beating.
"By using the fear of death and the instinct to survive, which are engraved in the genes of all living things, you can push your potential to the limit and master Reverse Cursed Technique."
The short-haired girl's breathtakingly beautiful face curved into a mischievous smile—one that didn't belong on such a face.
"If you can't master it, you die. And if you're dead, well… you won't need to learn Reverse Cursed Technique anymore. Pretty efficient, don't you think?"
With that, Hayashizaki crushed the heart in her hand. The blood splattered onto Geto's shocked face.
Gojo Satoru's eyes widened as the bright blue glow of his Six Eyes slowly dimmed. He staggered backward a few steps before collapsing onto the ground.
Blood continued to pour from the gaping hole in his chest.
