Izuku cursed under his breath as he ran ahead of the group, blasting through the shutters that were trying to box them into one place.
"Midoriya!"
Izuku looked back to see Iida break a door, and Melissa calling him back.
He turned mid-air, using the closing shutter in front of him like a spring board to [FLASH ARROW] into the plant factory.
"They probably have cameras" Izuku muttered as the group hid in the bushes "we need a way to jam communications. Momo?"
"I'll need time to make it, and something to power it" Momo said.
"Found you, you damn kids!"
Izuku tensed, tapping the full gauntlet to reveal its full form.
"What did you say you bastard!?"
Izuku's eyes widened before he used Haki to sense when the villain's backs would be to him.
"Um, we got lost" Kirishima tried to reason with the man, and Izuku realized the two had no idea what was going on.
"I can see through you" one of the villains yelled, hands erupting into weird scoop type shape "don't try to lie!"
"[SOLAR SLASH]"
"[FROZEN BLOSSOM]"
Both the villains had no chance.
One second they were yelling at Katsuki and Kirishima.
The next, one was an ice sculpture and the other was thrown into a wall by Izuku's attack.
"What the hell?" Katsuki muttered as the group revealed itself "Izuku, did you seriously get involved in another villain attack?"
"Not like I choose it" Izuku hissed in irritation as Momo and Kaminari secured the frozen villain while Kirishima and Iida went to pick up the villain Izuku had sent flying.
"Seriously, your life as a pro isn't even gonna have patrols" Jiro laughed.
"Yeah, I'm a magnet for trouble, can we focus on the villains now please" Izuku groaned.
"I think I can get us up there" Todoroki said as he placed his right hand on the ground and created an ice circle around him "get on."
And then they used the ice as an elevator.
"Pretty creative" Melissa said as they looked on to see the plant factory get smaller and smaller.
"Did we lose them?" Uraraka questioned as the group ran through the corridor.
"I doubt that" Jiro said.
"They're leading us somewhere" Momo said grimly.
"Traps don't matter if we can just blast through them" Katsuki said with a grin.
As if the world had heard him, hundreds of robots fell in front of them, red sensors blaring menacingly.
"Iida, Katsuki, Kirishima, let's go!" Izuku said, jumping into the fray with the pole-sword hybrid Momo had handed him.
"yeah!"
The trio ran forward beside him, each taking their own portion of the robot derby.
'Let's try this out' Izuku thought to himself as he cocked back his right fist.
[70% SMASH!] Izuku unleashed the move, trying to test out the full gauntlet's capability.
There was no pain, and the robots went flying like bowling pins.
Above in the rafters, Izuku sensed the rest of the group running through the rafters, taking down a few robots of their own but otherwise being unimpeded.
He winced as he felt a surge of electricity, and looked up to see Momo, Jiro and Kaminari holding a black box.
"We made a temporary jammer" Momo grinned at him.
Izuku and the rest of the combatants made their way to the exit to meet the rest of the group.
"Like 5 minutes ago you said you couldn't" Izuku said with a raised eyebrow.
"Melissa-san gave me an idea to use Kaminari-san and Jiro-san's quirks for a combo-area based jammer! Now, we can move around without the enemy being able to see us!"
Izuku glanced at Melissa, giving the blonde a smile before turning to Jiro and Kaminari.
"You two will be able to maintain it right?"
"Being a battery is like my thing" Kaminari said with a laugh while Jiro nodded.
"So we fly up there somehow?" Izuku muttered as he looked at the emergency exit at the wind generator system "Melissa-san, what exactly do you think it is that we're doing? You really think Iida-san's letting that happen?"
Iida's signature hand chopping supported Izuku's statement.
"Robots" Kirishima warned as waves after waves of robots started rolling down.
"jamming squad" Izuku called out, prompting Momo, Jiro and Kaminari to do their thing.
"It won't last for too long" Momo informed him as the team looked up "flying up there is your best option. I'd rocket roller-skates myself but I don't have the stored-up fat."
'she just says rocket roller skates so casually…'
"so we split into teams then" Katsuki said "one stays with me and breaks these things down. Momo, stop the jammer. Kirishima, earphone, perv, Glasses, with me. Icyhot and Pink cheeks, get Izuku and blondie up there."
With that, he jumped into the fray with a grin like it was Christmas.
His way of removing the wrappings of all of his gifts was…aggressive.
"You heard the man" Izuku sighed as he extended his hand to Melissa "We're doing your crazy thing"
"It's not crazy!" she argued.
Jiro interrupted them with a quick zap at Izuku's ears.
"Ochako is ready. You both get ready too."
Todoroki got near a fan, taking Iida and Kirishima's help to turn it before activating his flames to give them a clear path in the air with the heat.
"Good luck" Ochako said as she pat the duo on the back and they started floating.
"Try not to fall."
"Wait whaAAAAAAAAAA"
Let's just say that [FLASH ARROW, LONG VERSION] while weightless is not something one should experience with zero warning.
If it hadn't been for Melissa frantically grabbing (choking) Izuku's neck to stay with him, she most definitely would have gone floating towards the wrong building.
Izuku stopped the momentum, waiting for the heat from the turned fan from earlier to push them towards the exit.
"We're gonna land short, I'm making a custom entrance" Izuku informed her, using one hand to slightly adjust her body to allow him to breathe while cocking back the other.
[20% DETROIT SMASH]
The duo just stayed floating for a second inside the stairwell, before suddenly falling.
Izuku acted quickly, pulling Melissa onto his back and landing in a crouch.
She got off quickly, apologizing while he waved her off.
"Okay, go time" Izuku said as he stretched his legs a bit "stay a bit back from now on, I doubt it'll be ordinary grunts from here on."
[SIDE!]
Izuku was a blur, grabbing Melissa and moving her to the top of the staircase before using the wall behind her like a springboard to land straight on top of the villain that had tried to stab him.
"Wha-your power is knife hands?" Izuku asked incredulously as he held the villain down, one hand held behind his head and the other to the side "you couldn't hit me anyway then. Why'd I even get an alert?"
He winced as he suddenly heard Shanks's voice in his head.
'For the girl, kid. You can't keep acting like you're going solo with a sidekick. You are a team right now.'
'Right. Thanks, Third.'
With a Haki infused hand chop at the neck, Knife hands was out cold, but Izuku grabbed the metal railing and wrapped it around him once anyway.
"You alright?" he asked as he walked up the stairs to see a worried Melissa.
"Are you sure he won't wake up?"
"He's tied up" Izuku pointed "and we're not going to stick around long enough for him to try anything anyway."
"There he is!"
[5% Piercing light]
The two gunmen could not do much against a beam of light that passed through their bullets and straight up threw them into the wall.
"Since when can you do that?" Melissa asked, pointing at the wall where his attack had hit.
"I haven't mastered the move, so I try to avoid it" he told her "at this range though? Perfect chance."
"Papa…"
Izuku winced as he heard the pain in Melissa's voice, but stayed on guard for what the assistant might do.
'the professor just thanked Sam for arranging things. I'm keeping my eye on him.'
"Don't tell me you did this? To get that device…?"
Mr Shield closed his eyes, before letting out a resigned yes.
"The professor is only trying to get back what was stolen!" Sam (the assistant) interjected "this groundbreaking invention that mechanically amplifies quirks…"
"And unlike drugs, it does not have any adverse effect. But the investors took it from us, all because it could change the structure of Superhuman society, multiple nations pressured him to put an end to it."
"The Papa I know would never do that!" Melissa shouted "tell me it's a lie! Please, tell me this is all a lie!"
"…it's not a lie"
The professor's hoarse voice cut through her rambling, stopping her in her tracks.
"But why?" she finally let out.
"It is for All Might" David said resolutely "his quirk is disappearing, but the symbol of peace can regain his light!"
"Then you don't know All Might at all!" Izuku shouted, finally interrupting the father-daughter conversation "you think he'll use that? No!"
"What do you know about him" Shield yelled back "it matters not what happens to me! I cannot allow the world to be in the darkness All Might's absence will bring!"
"You think he didn't think of that?" Izuku growled "All Might is the one who knows what his fading will do to the world the most! That's why he's training us! To be the new pillars that will hold up the world he made!"
"What do you think Izuku and the rest of his classmates have gone through to rescue the hostages!?" Melissa shrieked, holding her hands in front of her chest like it was physically hurting her to see her father like this "even now, they're fighting!"
"That makes no sense" The professor's brows furrowed "the villains are fake. It was supposed to have been an act."
"Of course it was an act"
Izuku was the only one not surprised by the emergence of the leader of the villain group, wearing the same metal mask he'd seen earlier at the party.
"An act to pretend being fake villains" the man declared.
"The act ends here!" Izuku yelled as he launched himself forward with [30% flow state] already active, passing through railings that had tried to grab him and clocking the man straight at the lower jaw.
He could only stare at Izuku in astonishment as he was sent flying, his lackey not far behind as Izuku kicked him into the wall.
[the case!]
Izuku turned back to see Sam steal the case from the stunned professor, and Melissa rushing over to those two.
[1% Piercing light]
Izuku's laser-like move hit Sam's hand, causing the man to wail and grab the hurt hand with his other while the case clattered to the ground.
[GET IN THE AIR!]
Izuku leapt, going high enough to land upside down on the roof.
Just fast enough to dodge the two giant columns made of the wall that would have crushed him.
'Metal manipulation huh' he mused as he ran around on the roof, dodging crushing blows that wouldn't leave him unscathed if they hit.
'He saw that the railing passed through earlier, so he's sticking to big moves' he cursed as he dodged another pillar from smashing him into paste while he saw the lackey start moving towards the case.
[30% MANCHESTER SMASH+HAKI BOOST]
Izuku launched himself from the roof, right leg straight out to directly knock the man out.
He glanced at Melissa before turning to Wolfram.
"You're not getting that booster." He said firmly, right hand making a finger gun charged with [10% PIERCING LIGHT] "I have no problems with breaking it if you make a move."
Wolfram froze before trying to placate Izuku.
"Destruction of private property, especially on I-Island, wouldn't be taken lightly kid. Let's not be hasty, I'm sure we can figure something out."
"I won't change the plan" Izuku said, glancing at Melissa in hopes she would get what he meant.
'No change in plan. Go disable the security system.'
She stared at him for a second before nodding and running out of the room with no attempts from Wolfram.
Izuku increased the light output from his right hand, showing that he wasn't bluffing.
"Let the professor and his assistant leave. Whoever wins our fight after that keeps the case. Agreed?"
Wolfram stared at the pudgy man and Mr Shield, thinking.
[Punch from behind.]
Izuku didn't flinch as Sam of all people tried to punch him and passed through with a stumble.
Izuku frowned, grabbing the man's wrist with his left hand and using his own momentum to spin him around and trip him onto the ground.
"I'm trying to save your life here" Izuku said "so why are you trying to hit me?"
"The idiot still thinks he has a shot at a happy ending" Wolfram said with a scratchy laugh "even if you get paid, you're gonna be a wanted man Sammy. Shield will probably get a slap on the wrist, but you colluded with actual villains, so you're not getting off that easy"
While the man on the ground paled, Izuku looked back at Wolfram.
"You sure you wanna save him?" Wolfram asked while idly scratching his head with the tip of his gun.
Izuku sighed.
"I am a hero. Have to save everyone, even if they're stupid. Anyway, deal or no deal?"
"Fatty can go right now" Wolfram nodded "Shield leaves after handing me the case."
Izuku glanced at Mr Shield, who looked like he was going to vomit.
As Sam scrambled his way to the exit, Izuku had a quick conversation with the professor.
"You don't mind if I break that thing right?"
"As long as it's out of the villain's hands." Shield nodded as the lights flickered once.
'That was the signal. All Might and the rest will be free now'
"He'll probably take you as a hostage though. All Might is free now, but do you trust me to save you?"
David looked at Izuku, determined.
"It's what I'd deserve for all this. But, I'll believe in my rescue. You are his student after all."
With that, he picked up the case and walked to Wolfram, handing the villain the case before making way to the exit.
"Not so fast Mr Shield."
Wolfram's gun was pointed straight at Shield's head.
Izuku acted quickly, clapping his hands together and shooting a [10% PIERCING LIGHT] blast.
To his surprise, the attack was blocked by the very ground rising up.
When it lowered, Wolfram had the professor by the neck, gun now pointing at his back, right at his heart.
"None of that" he snapped at Izuku "the professor's coming with me. Since you stepped into evil, I'm sure you won't mind making a bunch of these right?"
The last part was directed at David Shield, but Izuku answered for him.
"You do get that the security systems are probably down by now right? A bunch of pros, including ALL MIGHT, are on their way. You're not making it out, so why make such a dumb move?"
[FRONT -> LEFT -> TOP+BOTTOM]
Izuku was a blur, rushing back before lashing out with a kick to his left to break the pillar that would have crushed him.
As he did that though, two more giant constructs appeared, one shifting the floor beneath him and one falling from straight above him.
He threw out a punch with the full gauntlet, completely destroying the top one with the force of a [70% SMASH] while the shockwave destroyed enough of the bottom one for him to roll out of being crushed.
But the professor and Wolfram were gone.
He cursed, running into the tunnel to get to the roof before the metal manipulator managed to get out of their grasp.
"You really came to save a criminal!?" Wolfram's voice rang out as the man slammed his fist on the ground to unleash a barrage of pillars at Izuku.
Izuku closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
[All Attacks dodged so he tries sandwiching me with an attack when I'm mid-air, then tries leaving on the helicopter. I jump and grab, but he shoots the professor in the shoulder and then shakes me off by spinning the chopper, leaving me in a crater.]
To change this unpleasant future that Izuku had seen , all he would need to do was burst straight through rather than waste time dodging.
So, he ran straight forward, going [45% FLOW STATE] through his whole body and putting his hands in an X shape in front of his body.
Wolfram swore, slamming both hands on the ground again and again to throw pillars and spikes at Izuku, but he just ran through all of them like they were nothing.
Finally, when he was close enough he swung with his right hand, releasing a gust of wind that sent the Helicopter's fan spinning in the wrong direction.
'That should buy some time'
Wolfram yelled something, firing magazines worth of bullets at Izuku that just passed through before smirking as he pointed his gun at the professor and let out a warning.
Izuku grit his teeth.
'Sorry professor, but he won't risk killing you. You said you deserve the pain earlier, so I hope you can handle a shot on the shoulder.'
Izuku didn't hesitate, sending out a [10% PIERCING LIGHT] at Wolfram's gun to send it out of the slowly rising helicopter despite his threats.
It wasn't fast enough to stop him from pulling the trigger though.
And just as Izuku had seen, it hit David Shield's shoulder, putting him in a world of pain but sure to not leave any lasting damage.
[FLASH ARROW, HAKI ENHANCED]
Izuku was a blur of light and black lightning as he shot through the helicopter, Professor safe in his arms as he landed with a thud on the ground near Melissa while the helicopter wobbled slightly while Wolfram roared profanities, either at Izuku or the pilot.
"I AM HERE!"
Wolfram wasn't swearing for long after that.
In a blur of motion, All Might shot through the helicopter, completely destroying its insides and sending it crashing as he crouched down in front of his student, niece and friend.
"Melissa called and told me most of the situation" he said "Young Midoriya, looks like you saved Dave before I even got here!"
"You just took too long" Izuku laughed "I figured I might as well let your old bones rest."
And then Izuku was sent flying by a giant wall of metal.
All Might didn't get a chance to say much either, because he got thrown back by a pillar of his own, while David Shield got wrapped up in a bunch of metal and dragged back towards the wreckage of the helicopter, where a metal behemoth was slowly being made.
Izuku burst out of the metal easily enough, but he was busy in his head.
'Third, there was no warning from Haki! What's going on !?'
'you ran out' Shanks said grimly 'or more like, your brain can only handle so much prediction. Because you saw minutes into the future earlier, Observation Haki can only tell you the most obvious things. Rely on your own senses till your mind can handle future sight again.'
'So my mind got tired? I haven't actually run out or anything right?'
'…you can't exactly run out of WILLPOWER kid. Quick warning though, avoid using Armament as well until your final attack. Should let Observation recover quicker.'
'Roger.'
"You don't know when to give up, huh?" All Might yelled as he charged forward with a [TEXAS SMASH] ready.
The attack was blocked, before All Might was thrown back.
Izuku leapt forward, grabbing his mentor by the arm and landing in a way that they both made it on their feet.
"The professor's device buffed him. We need to work together" he said grimly.
All Might coughed, blood falling on his steaming hand.
"Normally I would tell you to stay back, but this needs to finish quickly" his mentor said as he stood up to his full height "I'm trusting you to keep up, Beacon!"
Izuku stood up too, Flow state at 45% already running through his body as he looked at the practically undamaged full gauntlet.
"Let's go!"
"Yeah!"
"Now in order to raise the price of this device, why not have a demonstration of how it can blow All Might away!?"
"I don't appreciate being ignored" Izuku yelled, spearing through two metal pillars that tried to crush him before slicing through the behemoth's right side off with a [40% PIERCING LIGHT].
"I'll kill you brat!" Wolfram roared as he sent out a bunch of pillars at Izuku.
[FLASH ARROW, LONG VERSION]
Izuku zoomed at the side of one, racing up its length before jumping to another and then another.
"[HOWITZER IMPACT]"
Izuku smirked.
"[FLASHFREEZE HEATWAVE]"
And then he grinned.
Backup was here.
He landed near where Iida was coordinating his classmates.
"Everyone's status?" he asked quickly.
"Tired, but we can keep going" Iida said with a nod.
"That's good, but stay back on defence for now. Cover Todoroki and Katsuki where you can, but stay grouped. The villain has gear amplifying his power to an insane level. All Might himself is fighting right now."
The yell of [CAROLINA SMASH] followed by a light that left spots in Izuku's eyes for a few seconds helped his statement.
"Find Melissa too" he told Iida "she'll be somewhere in this mess. Have Uraraka, Jiro and Momo do a Search-and-rescue for her. I need to return to All Might."
Iida nodded, before rushing to carry his class president's orders.
"AAAAAAGHHH"
Izuku flinched as he heard All Might's yell, and looked up to see Wolfram with a completely different quirk attacking his wound.
His body moved before he could think.
Izuku dashed forward, dodging pillars by going in a zig-zag pattern before jumping as hard as he could do deal with the giant cubes which had All Might between them.
"No time to hold back" he muttered as he was suspended mid air for a second "[100% DETROIT SMASH!]
Just before a bunch of spiked could pierce through All Might's prison, Izuku's attack released a shockwave that completely blew away not only the spikes but also All Might.
With a yelp of concern, Izuku rushed to fall before him, catching the big man and placing him gently beside him.
"How many times have you saved me by now?" All Might chuckled as he stood up on wobbly legs.
"We said we'd do this together, but you went solo anyway" Izuku said with a scowl.
"You were busy coordinating with your classmates" All Might protested.
Izuku pinched his brows.
"Doesn't matter. We're going to need double one for all to end this quickly. Don't think I haven't noticed all the steam."
"Well then, this time you lead and I follow!" All Might declared.
"Right! You go high; I go low!"
Izuku dashed forward as All Might jumped up, both going at speeds that could only be described as blurs of motion.
Izuku kicked off the falling rubble, bouncing around like a pinball while All Might ran straight, slapping away any attacks that came his way like they were bugs before punching forward so hard the attack literally melted away.
In the background, he heard explosions and blasts that let him know that Todoroki and Katsuki hadn't stopped yet either.
The two continued their individual assault till they met back up at a particularly big pillar and ran forward towards the giant cube Wolfram was making.
'To overcome the crisis before you…'
'With everything we've got…'
'And save people'
'With a smile on our faces'
'THAT IS WHAT MAKES'
'A HERO!'
"I'LL CRUSH YOU AND THE TOWER!" Wolfram roared as he threw the giant cube at them.
[DOUBLE DETROIT SMASH ]
Both Beacon and All Might swung their fists, the impact stopping the shattering cube's momentum completely.
'not yet!'
Izuku yelled as he channelled all his Haki through his fist and into the cube.
The cube broke apart like an egg, but their charge didn't stop.
'NOT YET YOUNG MAN!'
'Yeah! Now is the time we…'
'GO BEYOND'
'PLUS ULTRA'
"Dave…Dave!"
All Might sighed in relief as his friend opened his eyes.
"I came to save you, Dave."
"Thanks…"
But All Might shook his head.
"If you want to thank anyone, it should be Young Melissa and Beacon."
"…Beacon huh?"
Toshinori paused, before chuckling.
"To me, that boy is already a fully fledged hero. I don't have much to teach someone who acts like a hero on instinct."
Dave nodded.
"I was scared to lose your light." He admitted "But that boy…he told me what your solution was. To create new pillars…it's not something someone as stuck in the past as me would ever have thought of."
"Your successor is well on her way too" All Might said as he finished bandaging Dave "That glove she gave Young Midoriya allowed him to go all out."
David spent a few seconds just looking at the teenagers meeting up at the top of the hill of metal, checking up on one other and congratulating each other for the victory.
"All I tried to do was maintain the status quo" he chuckled bitterly "I didn't notice the new light already emerging."
He glanced at Toshinori.
"Izuku Midoriya is your successor isn't he?"
Toshinori grinned.
"Inside that boy is the ability to shine as a hero more than anyone. Even without my guidance, I don't doubt that he would rise to the peak. All I'm doing is helping him avoid making my mistakes."
"I see it too, Toshi" the two turned to look at Izuku, still slightly glowing as he waved down at the two with a grin " a light like yours. The brightness of the hero who will bring light to the world, like you do."
