Sonia's hands clenched the cup's handle, but a sad smile remained on her lips.
Someone coughed, clearly trying to stifle a laugh, while others shot Sonia a look of pity.
"So, you didn't ask her Majesty about the done key," a woman said in a deadpan tone, unmoved by Sonia's half-truths.
Sonia's eyes flickered with hatred as her gaze fell on the speaker. "Hazel, please watch your words; her Majesty didn't let me speak before I was sent out, not the other way around."
Hazel shot Sonia a knowing glance. "You said a lot of rubbish and angered the queen, didn't you...? Hypocrite." She snorted, her gaze filled with disgust.
Her words hit the nail on the head because that was precisely what Sonia did.
If she had gone straight to the point and told Elora why she was there instead of using her illness to steer the conversation in her favor, she would've had a chance to get a response about the dome key.
