Chapter 334 - Chapter 333: The Sky City

Chapter 333: The Sky City

In the center of the fountain stood an angel statue towering nearly fifty meters high.

The pool below the statue emanated a rich, sacred aura.

From a distance, a pure white magical radiance could be seen emanating from the pool.

"Is that… a Light Slime?"

Although far away, Li Meng could make out small, pure white figures bouncing around in the fountain.

Sometimes, they would leap out of the fountain, hopping about on the ground.

At other times, they would dive back into the water.

A small figure perched on the massive angel statue's arm caught his attention.

The figure was encased in platinum armor,

with a pair of radiant white light wings on its back.

These weren't actual wings but rather wings formed entirely from light,

fluttering gently.

With each movement, particles of sacred light scattered into the air.

"Is that a Radiant Angel?"

Even from a distance, Li Meng could sense something strange about its aura.

By all accounts, light elements were a manifestation of sacred power.

Yet, the aura emanating from this being was anything but sacred.

The sacred aura wasn't coming from the Radiant Angel itself,

but from the Light Slimes below it and the glowing crystals in the fountain.

[Master, it seems to be absorbing the magical energy from the Light Crystals,]

Xiao Bai's voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"Lord Silver Mask, the fountain in the square is the nest of the Light Slimes. The last time we infiltrated the square's edge, we managed to lure one out with magical crystals," Helena whispered beside Li Meng.

Her gaze focused on the radiant figure on the statue's arm, her expression tightening.

"The Radiant Angel appears to be asleep. Otherwise, it would have reacted when we captured the Light Slime last time."

Nearby, Matthew and Irisis watched the radiant figure with interest.

This was their first time seeing a real angel.

Although the Water Dragon Knights had been here before,

neither of them had participated in that mission.

"Miss Helena, are you certain the Radiant Angel is asleep?"

Its radiant wings didn't seem to match the concept of slumber in any way.

Matthew suspected the Radiant Angel wasn't asleep at all.

Perhaps it was merely sitting silently on the statue's arm,

and it had already noticed their presence.

Helena shook her head slightly.

"I don't know. The last time we captured a Light Slime, it didn't react at all."

The Radiant Angel's entire body was encased in armor,

making it impossible to see its eyes.

Who could tell if it was asleep or awake?

"Did its posture change?"

Irisis turned to Helena and asked.

Change in posture?

Helena scrutinized the Radiant Angel on the statue carefully.

Her expression shifted as she noticed something, and she quickly looked away, lowering her head.

"There is a change. Last time, it sat on the statue's left arm. This time, it's on the right arm."

Hearing this, everyone was startled.

Could it be that the Radiant Angel wasn't asleep but had been awake the entire time?

Had it silently observed the Water Dragon Knights capturing a Light Slime during their last mission?

Perhaps the Radiant Angel simply didn't bother to intervene?

If that were true, this mission was incredibly risky.

"What's there to fear? We've got so many people. Even a Radiant Angel might not be a match for us,"

Matthew said with a grin, a trace of excitement flashing in his eyes.

He had never fought an angel before,

and he was eager to test the strength of such a creature.

Matthew's words left everyone momentarily stunned.

Indeed, those present were all formidable warriors.

No matter how powerful the Radiant Angel was,

it couldn't possibly defeat them all.

"Being able to fight is one thing. What happens when the battle actually starts is another matter entirely,"

Irisis said, furrowing Matthew's brow.

"Are you scared?"

Matthew taunted, glaring at Irisis.

The two were both part of the Merchant Alliance and knew each other well.

Irisis was known for his cautious nature,

but sometimes, his excessive caution annoyed Matthew.

If it weren't absolutely necessary,

Matthew would avoid working with Irisis.

Faced with Matthew's provocation, Irisis chose to ignore it.

"I'm not afraid of the Radiant Angel. I'm afraid that if a fight breaks out, it might alert this place's true master."

The true master of this place?

Matthew looked at Irisis in confusion.

Wasn't the Radiant Angel the master of this place?

"Matthew, this is Sky City."

Although Irisis couldn't confirm if this was the legendary Sky City,

the likelihood was high.

"Sky City?"

Matthew was taken aback.

He hadn't considered the possibility of this place being Sky City.

"That's impossible. Sky City floats in the sky, but this place clearly…"

Before he could finish, his voice trailed off.

Matthew realized that they might indeed be in the sky.

In the legendary Sky City.

No, this wasn't a legend.

Sky City was real.

Every few years, it would pass over the labyrinth city.

It was called a legend because no one had ever set foot on it.

Even airships couldn't approach Sky City.

They would crash as soon as they got close.

The rumor claimed that Sky City had an anti-flight barrier.

Whether it was true or not was unknown.

After all, anti-flight barriers were also the stuff of legends.

"Miss Helena, are we really in Sky City?"

Matthew's question left the others speechless.

They had already realized that this place was likely the legendary "Sky City."

They couldn't believe Matthew was still clueless about their location.

Facing his gaze, Helena nodded slightly.

Upon receiving her confirmation, Matthew grinned.

"Who would've thought Sky City would look like this, huh?"

Matthew remarked, clicking his tongue in disbelief.

Sky City turned out to be vastly different from what he had imagined.

"Miss Helena, if we make too much commotion, it might attract the Sacred Dragon King,"

Irisis warned, making everyone tense.

The Radiant Angel was powerful,

but it was within their capability to handle.

After all, they weren't alone.

They had many strong companions beside them.

But the Sacred Dragon King was a different story—a monster ranked among the top thirteen.

After some thought, Helena's gaze grew resolute.

"We'll use the labyrinth's magical crystals to lure the Light Slime, just like last time."

Having come this far, there was no turning back.

Since they were here again,

they had to take the risk.

Backing down over every risk meant accomplishing nothing.

"Let's move to the square's vicinity!"

Helena turned and headed toward the western street.

The others exchanged glances before following closely behind.

No matter the risk, they couldn't leave empty-handed.

In this, everyone shared Helena's resolve.

As for Li Meng, the thought of retreat never crossed his mind.

Even if the Sacred Dragon King appeared,

he was determined to seize the Light Slime.
