Chapter 709 - Chapter 707: Forceful Seizure and a Swift, Decisive Strike

This Takigakure ninja was no ordinary individual—he was Hayakawa Haruto, a Special Jonin from the Sealing Corps, responsible for overseeing this sealing ritual.

Seimei locked onto him as his target, determined to disrupt the ritual.

Whoosh!

A cold glint flashed.

With a flick of his right hand, a kunai slipped from his sleeve and into his palm.

Then, like a bolt of lightning, he slashed toward his opponent's throat.

Seimei's movements were incredibly fast and sudden. Even though the Takigakure Elder had just given a warning, Hayakawa Haruto still reacted half a beat too slow.

As a Special Jonin specializing in sealing techniques, he lacked proficiency in combat—especially in close-quarters combat.

Thus, Seimei's kunai sliced cleanly across his throat.

"Guh… guh…"

A strong sense of suffocation overwhelmed Hayakawa Haruto as he staggered back several steps, clutching his neck, his eyes filled with disbelief.

It was as if he couldn't accept the fact that he was about to die.

Indeed, as a sealing specialist in a small village like Takigakure, he was considered a prized asset.

Whenever he traveled, he was always accompanied by Anbu bodyguards, ensuring his safety was never a concern.

But today…

As he saw the 'belated' arrival of the Anbu and the cold, indifferent gaze of Seimei, a deep regret suddenly filled his heart.

Perhaps he shouldn't have placed his safety entirely in the hands of others.

If given another chance, he would surely devote more time to training.

In the shinobi world, whether it was sealing techniques or any other ability, they were ultimately just supplementary skills. Only by becoming strong oneself could one truly be powerful.

At the final moment of his life, Hayakawa Haruto finally understood this truth.

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Thud!

A dull sound echoed as Hayakawa Haruto's body collapsed heavily to the ground.

Although it seemed like a long sequence of events, everything had actually happened in an instant.

It was only after Hayakawa Haruto had fallen that the Takigakure Elder snapped back to his senses, his voice roaring, "Haruto!"

"Damn it! Kill him!"

His furious command resounded as his eyes burned with murderous intent toward Seimei.

But even without his order, the Takigakure Anbu had already sprung into action.

Unfortunately for them, even as Takigakure's elite forces, they were still no match for Seimei.

Without even activating his Sharingan, Seimei relied solely on his exceptional perception—enhanced by his 23-point 'Spirit' attribute—to evade their first wave of attacks effortlessly.

Seizing the moment, he swiftly formed a series of hand seals: Serpent – Ram – Monkey – Boar – Tiger!

Ninjutsu—Earth Release: Rising Stone Spears!

Despite being only a C-rank ninjutsu, when used in the right conditions, it could rival B-rank techniques—or even stronger ones.

And what were the right conditions?

Simple—a confined space.

Like this cave.

Slap!

Seimei pressed a single palm against the ground.

A surge of Earth-natured chakra spread underground, tapping into the terrain's natural ley lines.

Within moments, hundreds of stone spears erupted from the cave floor, piercing toward the Takigakure shinobi.

Forced into evasive maneuvers, the enemy shinobi scrambled to dodge.

Under Seimei's deliberate control, this maneuver cleared a large area around the Seven-Tails.

Seizing the opportunity, Seimei flickered to the beast's side, ready to subdue it.

But the Takigakure shinobi weren't fools. The moment Seimei made his move, they immediately guessed that his goal was related to the Seven-Tails.

Seeing him approach the beast, they reacted violently.

Almost instantly, multiple attacks were launched—kunai thrown, ninjutsu unleashed, and some even forced their way through the Earth Release: Rising Stone Spears to close the distance, aiming to kill him on the spot.

At the very least, they intended to stall him.

Observing their actions, the corners of Seimei's mouth curled slightly beneath his mask—he had no intention of engaging in direct combat.

With his keen perception and exceptional agility, he flickered through the battlefield, effortlessly dodging their attacks.

Not only that, but he also managed to get even closer to the Seven-Tails.

Raising his hand, he was about to cast the Binding Curse Seal to restrain the beast.

Sensing the imminent danger, the Seven-Tails retaliated with a frenzied, indiscriminate attack, targeting both Seimei and the Takigakure shinobi.

Having already broken free from part of the sealing restraints, the beast had gained more room to move after Seimei forced its captors away.

With a single flap of its wings, it generated powerful gusts of wind that swept through the cave.

More dangerously, it scattered countless toxic scales throughout the cavern.

The wind itself wasn't a problem—both Seimei and the Takigakure shinobi could stabilize themselves by channeling chakra to their feet.

But the scales were a different story.

Not only did they obscure vision and disrupt sensory perception, but they were also laced with venom.

Anyone who inhaled or came into contact with them would immediately experience paralysis, rendering them unable to move.

This was the power of a Tailed Beast.

Give them even the slightest opening, and they could wreak havoc on an unimaginable scale.

No wonder they were regarded as calamities.

A flurry of thoughts passed through Seimei's mind, but he quickly refocused, stabilizing his stance while activating his Byakugan.

In an instant, his vision cleared, and his ability to perceive chakra returned.

"Hmm?"

Noticing something, Seimei suddenly sidestepped, narrowly evading an attack from the Takigakure Anbu.

Clearly, these shinobi were well aware of the Seven-Tails' abilities. Though they were affected, they still managed to launch an attack.

Unfortunately, they hadn't anticipated that Seimei would be completely unaffected.

That's right—completely unaffected.

His superior physical constitution allowed him to resist the venom. While not immune, he could still move freely.

As a result, their ambush failed.

Yet, Seimei didn't retaliate.

His objective was capturing the Seven-Tails, not waging war against Takigakure.

There was no need for unnecessary conflict.

Besides, this was the perfect opportunity—he couldn't let it slip away.

Through his Byakugan, he saw a flicker of panic in the Seven-Tails' compound eyes.

Seimei smirked.

Before the beast could make another move, he unleashed the Binding Curse Seal.

Instantly, intricate black markings spread across the Seven-Tails' body, rendering it immobile.

The beast thrashed violently, but beyond draining some of Seimei's chakra, it was powerless.

Meanwhile, the surviving Sealing Corps members rushed forward, preparing to activate the sealing array beneath them to trap both Seimei and the Seven-Tails.

But they were too slow.

The moment they made their move, Seimei activated his Mangekyō Sharingan.

Then, he unleashed the dojutsu stored in his left eye—Heaven's Transit!

In the blink of an eye, Seimei and the Seven-Tails vanished.

Silence fell over the cave.

For a few seconds, no one moved.

Then, finally, someone muttered, "How… is this possible?"

That whisper shattered the silence.

Chaos erupted as shinobi scrambled to search for Seimei and the Seven-Tails, debated his abilities, and sent urgent messages outside.

Watching the disorder unfold, the Takigakure Elder furrowed his brows and barked, "Silence!"

At his command, the shinobi quieted.

He scanned the room before speaking grimly, "He couldn't have gotten far. The village is on lockdown—he must still be inside, maybe even in the caves. Begin the search immediately."

"Yes, Elder!"

The shinobi regained their composure and responded in unison.

But just as they were about to act, a Takigakure ninja burst in, looking frantic.

At that moment, both the Elder and the others felt a growing sense of dread.

And the words that followed confirmed their worst fears.
