Just several minutes ago...
The patrolling elves suddenly encountered a devilish monster in the rain, it was climbing a tree just waiting for them to pass by.
One of the patrolling elves were quick enough to notice it due to the rain and so the elf became it's first victim.
He was able to let out a scream and a magical orb that shined brightly, alerting the other nearby patrols.
"Damn it!" An elf cursed as he approached, seeing the bloodied face of the monster.
"It's the vile things from the north again!"
"Avenge our brethren!!"
The first three elves attacked the beast.
It had a giant head, it's maw was dripping with blood and saliva and had rows of giant bone crushing teeth.
It's body was that of a beatle, human like arms protruding from it's head, instead of horns though it had a weird black flower sticking from it's head.
The Beatle didn't seem to be one of the strongest that lived in the death zones and strayed away, it did not have the aura of those stronger beasts.
It did not even have the usual dark mist emanating from it's body, though the flower on its head had it, but it only seemed to be withering away like ash.
The first of the patrol elves dashed towards it, dodging and weaving from the arms of the monstrous beetle.
He brought out a sword, it was like a khopesh but it was made out of polished wood that seemed to reflect the few rays of sun that passed through the leaves.
Another elf ashed towards the monstrous beetle, holding a small tree root, but then it suddenly grew in size turning into a curly and sharp javelin.
The third elf, a female patroller had a bow, it had dark green ooze on its arrow head and the bow itself was large and heavy looking. The petite girl looked smaller beside it, it seemed impossible to draw but she did, letting out the first long and slender arrow.
It whistled through the air, avoiding every branch, seemingly almost every raindrop that would slow it's speed as if it had a kind of it's own.
THWACK!
It hit the target, right at the beetles protruding arms that were on its armored head, unlike the rest of the arms and legs, it had no armor and all flesh. This was new to the patrols as they have seen many evolutions of these types of monsters, and one with protruding arms and a black looking rose flower on its head was new.
"Joints!!"
The female elf yelled as she flew away, distancing herself and repositioning as she readied her next shot.
The monster let out a shriek as it's arms were pierced, then a painful sting attacked it's wound, and a melting sensation was filling it's mind.
SHRIEKIKIKIIKIKEEEEIIIK—!!!
The two melee elves flew on their gliders and the first one with the khopesh slashed at its armored legs, though it only did a shallow cut.
He dodged it's arms and it's huge horn as it rammed through the tree trunk, sending wooden splinters all over the sky.
"HYUP!"
The man with the polearm attacked just a moment later after the first man tried attacking it's joints.
He aimed to pierce it's lower body since it was trapped against the wooden trunk and unable to move.
Crack...
Just then, the beetles back suddenly cracked upen with a wet sound, a disgusting sound really.
What appeared underneath its shell were dark inky wings that seemed almost as big as it's body.
"What..."
"... The."
"Fuck..."
The three elves cursed as they stared at the sudden transformation.
Without hesitation, the female elf took out another orb that emitted light, this one brighter and of a different color.
They were gonna die, but they could atleast call for reinforcements and kill this vile beast.
"For Aeloria!!"
The three elves shouted as they went back to try and wear it down.
***
By the time reinforcements arrives, the three patrolling elves that signalled the danger...
We're safe.
A squad of high ranking elven warriors flew in with their gliders to come and help, but what they saw left them stunned.
The monstrous beetle had severed legs and had several huge arrowheads piercing it's armor.
It was moving sluggishly and weak, like it was at its last moments and using all it's remaining strength to keep pushing forward and kill whoever opposes it.
The flower on its head was already halfway to withering away, as if it was losing its life the just as the beetle was.
The entire area was a mess, branches and smaller trees were wrecked, the ground was filled with the marks of rampage and destruction that the beetle has caused.
"Let's hurry and kill this vile demon shall we?"
The captain of the elven warriors spoke, gliding down cautiously and raising their weapons at it.
The beetle let out a weak cry, finally falling to the ground causing the ground to shake and the flower on its head to finally turn to ash.
The warriors let out a sigh and approached, however two figures suddenly emerged from behind the now beetle corpse.
One was tall figure with bright, long red hair and eyes there were like the sun, his smiled radiated warmth and something else that couldn't be determined.
He had two of the elven men on his shoulders, and dragging the girl behind him. He was handling them well despite his young age.
The other one...
Slightly shorter and had dull gray hair and a stone sword, his face was dirty and battered and his eyes looked lifeless.
"H– Humans!?"
One of the elven warriors exclaimed, and it made the rest of them notice it as well...
These two young kids weren't elves.
However they got back to their senses and hurriedly went to help the bright young man who's as carrying their comrades.
He got their attention quickly, and he exuded warmth and burning confidence.
However they felt something off about him, something odd... Creepy... Cold...
But they didn't seem to care or notice right now, they immediately brought the two young human kids to their town.
