Chapter 37 - Three New Arrivals

The young looking elven girl looked to have been inspired and intrigued by the human boys answer.

She smiled, satisfied and appreciative of Yoru's answer. She stood up and walked away, meaning to leave his rundown shack but suddenly stopped at the doorway.

Then, she looked back at the young boy, giving him a long look as if she forgot something.

And that she did.

"Are you... Will you be that shining star?"

My oh my.

Yoru smiled at her question.

He thought for a few moments, considering his past, present and future.

Has he done something worth being called a star? Of being a good person through and through?

Right now, in his current life. Has he done something good, to outshine the brightest of the brightest stars?

'I don't think so.'

Then.

In the future, will he become the shining star that this young elven girl is asking for?

After a moment of silence, the girl thought that Yoru wasn't, or couldn't answer, or if he just didn't want to.

The elven girl turned to leave but Yoru already found his answer.

" No. No I will not." He said, sipping from the cup of whatever liquid.

The girls face dropped, disappointed. She was expecting something more from the human, guess she was wro—

" But," Yoru suddenly added, catching the girls attention once more. He flashed her a gentle and light smile, the best he could do, and added:

"When the star falls, I will become the moon—silent, grieving, but still shining in its memory."

The young looking girl left the hut of the human boy and walked across the wooden platforms.

The wind was strong this high up and it seemed a bit too strong, the girl lifted her hand out, trying to see if there were raindrops.

The gigantic leaves of the trees didn't let much in so in the end she just sniffed the air, bringing her hands up to her pointy ears to listen.

'It is about to rain. I wonder if the bell is gonna ring?'

And just as she thought that, a deep melodic thum came echoed through out the huge city of Aeloria.

Satisfied, the young girl continued walking, hopping on top of many bridges and platforms.

She stopped at the edge of a wooden platform, looking at the older looking elf man across from her, the man was sitting on a branch holding a green moss looking staff.

She waved to get his attention and suddenly the rope fence Infront of her pulled back and vines suddenly formed on her feet as she walked, bring her all the way to the next platform.

Plip.

Ploop.

The first few raindrops finally started falling through the thick canopy of the trees.

The stores and vendors started readying some tents and makeshift umbrella's and covers to keep their items safe and clean.

The elven citizens rushed back to their homes, some finding cover from the rain.

Some children even played around, the raindrops were starting to pour in.

Whoosh.

Whoosh.

Elves suddenly flew by, they were flying in the air quickly and almost soundless. They were there to keep watch on the surroundings, they had magical gliders made out of leaves or crafted out of monster corpses that they've killed.

"Look, look!"

"Woah! It's the Wind Riders!"

"So cool!"

A few kids and older elves suddenly exclaimed, pointing at the sky.

There were two heros of this city.

One was a beautiful woman with auburn hair and smooth creamy vanilla skin. She had ember colored eyes and she was as tall as the male warrior elves.

The other was a jaw dropping gorgeous man with long white hair and a perfectly sculpted face, his eyes were golden and was the strongest combatant.

... Both of them, even.

Wind Riders were given to the best of the best skilled elves, they were able to Awaken their abilities, truly awaken and even move up to a higher spiritual being.

They had the ability to ride the wind, the sky and the wind was their territory, they harnessed and controlled it.

Currently they were patrolling as well, rainfall like these usually resulted in a few monsters from either the North or the south to stray by.

The young looking girl sighed.

'I wonder if I can be one too...'

...

The young girl was close to her destination, prepared and ready to bring the news to the elders.

'They'll surely like his answer.'

She stepped onto a rising platform, the same magical vines controlled by the elven officers with staffs lifting them up.

She jumped off at the high platforms, the view was even better up here but very dizzying.

The young looking girl entered a spacious shed, inside were several older elves, some looked like they were sixty years old in human years while few were wrinkly and old.

"You're back, watcher?" An elderly great elf spoke, his voice hoarse. "How was the interview between the human and you?"

The young looking girl, Watcher, knelt down on one knee and suddenly her body glowed and her form shifted.

From a teenage human looking body to an adult, slender physique and a dashing appearance, Watcher smiled and responded with a calm tone:

"I have high hopes for him, I hope the elders will feel the same way."

The elves within the room looked at each other all wary and curious about this new arrival of the human, could it have meant something?

Suddenly, the curtains swung open and a young elven man entered

"I bring news to the elders and higher ups!"

It was pretty rude disrupting a meeting, this man was not even invited too. An elder raised her hand and ordered him to speak.

"Two more humans appeared at the ground!"

Watcher's eyes grew wide with shock, several of the higher ups and even the elders stood up.

They were now even more wary.

One human was already a shock enough to bring half of the entire city of Aeloria, but two more was unexpected.

'This does not gonna end well.'
