In the olden days of the Ancient Era, all practitioners who engaged in Qi Refinement and God Transformation, upon reaching the Peak of the Primordial Spirit, accumulated merit and could be bestowed a Heavenly Talisman to ascend to heaven and become immortal.
However, if one could not receive a Heavenly Talisman, after death, they would enter the Netherworld and could be sealed as a Ghost God.
There was another group, whose cultivation reached the Peak of Refining God but lacked merit, and thus were bestowed upon the Mortal World as Land Immortals.
There was still another group, whose cultivation was insufficient, but due to accumulating virtue and doing good deeds, were also bestowed upon the Mortal World as Land Immortals.
