It does not take long for us to arrive, moving towards the screen on the console to get a good look outside to see where it's put me. What I see on the monitor is something I recognise, quickly checking when and where I am, I am shocked to find I landed in London in 2025.
The first thing I do is ask Ada if she knows anything, but all she says and I quote, `You are here because you need to be here` I can only sigh at her words, one of the downsides of being able to speak to your TARDIS, you get riddles most of the time.
Well, I can only move on, not going to find answers waiting here, am I? With that in mind, I exit my TARDIS, closing the door behind me. As I turn around, something runs into me and falls onto the ground.
Curious about who the individual was who had run into me, I looked at the fallen individual. To my surprise, it's a woman who looks no older than 20. Her hair is blonde, but its hue gives off the look of it being silver when light hits it.
As I watch her, she scrambles to her feet, ignoring me entirely before bolting away. Not long after she left, two men appeared, looking around. What I notice, though, is that they appear to be human, but they give off a vibe that makes them not fit in.
Intrigued, I decided to follow them to see what was going on. As I follow, I notice that we hit a dead end where I see the girl look around panicked, of course, I stay back so as not to be spotted by either the girl or the two men.
However, that changes once the two men realise they trapped her, put a finger to his belt buckle before his appearance shifts, and what I see is a humanoid with purple skin, his body riddled with strange metal components, he looks like a cyborg, with all the components added.
"You have nowhere to run, now you will be harvested" I have never seen anything like this race, but I know I can't just let them take her. Sighing, I make my move using my mechanical force to disrupt the mechanical component attached to the purple man.
The man in question freezes for a second before he falls to the ground screaming in pain. I may not have taken into account just how integrated the components were, but seeing that both men were distracted by this one in pain, the other looking at his friend, trying to see what was wrong. I bolted to the girl, getting there before the second man could notice, grabbing the girl's hand and running past the two men heading anywhere but here.
I was not sure if either of the men had noticed that I had taken their target, but I did not care; I was too focused on running away from the scene with the girl I had just saved being pulled along. Once we were far enough away and I confirmed that we had lost them, I let go of the woman's hand, and as I did, she plopped onto the ground trying to catch her breath.
After she does I decide to ask her what's going on as well as her name" May I know your name, and why those two are after you" Hearing my words she reluctantly speaks" My name is Alice, Alice Darkadia, as for why they were after me its because my father made a deal with them, in exchange for his firstborn, my father received advance technology to sell as his own" hearing her my eyebrows raise at her words, why would an advance alien race want to make such a trade. Then I remember the words I heard one of the men say, ' harvested`. What could they mean by that?
I start mumbling to myself ` they could mean it literally but something tells me that they mean it in something else and why her why bother with taking a human woman` hearing my words Alice says "I have no idea what they want me I am nothing special, I work at a goddam corner shop for god sake, I am as ordinary as it gets".
The tone in which her words come out shows her fear. Accepting that I would not find out exactly what was going on, asking her, I tried to reassure her" It's going to be fine, we will get you through all this, but to do so we need to find out why they want you, no intelligent being would need a human for anything good" although these are what I say I knew that there were exceptions to this once being the Doctor and he hopes himself but he has yet to have a companion so having a definite answer was not possible for him.
After Alice hears my words, I see her visibly relax before she speaks" What now?" hearing her question, I can't help but a grin starts to form on my face before I speak "Now we run" I give her no time to process as I grab her and I start running in the opposite direction that we came from while pulling her along with me.
After running for a while, we stop to allow Alice to catch her breath as she does, I speak," Do you have a place we can stay hidden? I do not think you will be able to continue running; it's preferable needs to be a place they will not know exists".
I can see that she is contemplating my words before her face brightens up before she speaks," I know a place that no one knows about, my secret place where I go to collect my thoughts without any disturbances".
Hearing this, once I confirm she has caught her breath, I grab her hand again, running directly to the TARDIS. My plan is simple: use the telepathic circuits to get the location, then use my TARDIS to get there without being followed by whatever those two men were.
It takes us a bit of time to make it back to my TARDIS as we have to stop a few times to let Alice catch her breath, but as we arrive, I can't help but be excited, since I know get to participate in the most iconic interaction that appears with most if not all companions of the Doctor, the bigger on the inside conversation.
I open the door and walk inside as Alice, still standing outside, just looks at me with the look someone would if they were looking at a person who made a sex joke in the middle of a restaurant. But as she looks inside, that look slowly disappears, replaced with a look of confusion before she enters, looking around, she starts to mumble `impossible` As she mumbles this, she runs out before running around the exterior and running back inside.
"It's bigger on the inside" Hearing her words, I can't help but laugh at participating in this iconic moment. Once I finally stop laughing, I speak "Yeah, it's bigger on the inside, it's dimensional engineering, as this ship It's called a TARDIS. It stands for Time and Relative Dimensions In Space".
After settling her in, I pull her toward the console before activating the telepathic circuits. Once activated, I connect it to Alice's hand, she at first pulls her hand back, causing me to explain why I connected her to the circuit. Once hearing my explanation she reluctantly allowed me to connect her" Now I need you to think of your secret place, in as much detail as you can, this includes its location, as well as what it looks like during the time you spent there" as I finish speaking the TARDIS starts to set off.
