Chapter 546 - Chapter 546, Looking Forward to Your Performance

Chapter 546, Looking Forward to Your Performance

"If it's not written here, then we probably don't have it," Qi Hancai said, getting up to pour him a glass of water.

Wu Heng reviewed the list again and said, "Order 50 sniper rifles, 100 heavy machine guns, 2,000 autocannon shells, and 500 grenades. That should do for now."

Qi Hancai returned to the table and began jotting down the items on a sheet of paper.

Wu Heng handed the list back to her. "Place the order, and then ask them for prices on machinery schematics for weapon production and add those to the list."

"Got it!" Qi Hancai said as she tucked the paper away.

"How's the rescue team doing? Are they behaving?" Wu Heng asked.

He remained cautious of them.

Although they claimed they had no choice but to take the road leading to the factory,

there was a possibility, as the radio chatter suggested, that they had deliberately tried to involve him.

Qi Hancai sat down beside him. "They've been behaving. They're eating the same food as we are, and with unlimited electricity and heated rooms in winter, persuading some of them to stay won't be hard."

Over the past couple of days, Qi Hancai had gathered intel on the rescue team's previous living conditions.

Their food supply had been rationed—not the bare minimum, but never enough to fill their stomachs.

They had neither electricity nor heating and were practically living like cavemen.

Their living conditions were much worse compared to here.

"Good to know," Wu Heng said.

Qi Hancai continued, "What happened last time was a wake-up call. I've set up sentry posts along the main access roads to the factory so we'll be warned of any incoming people or zombie hordes."

"Good idea. We should've done this earlier."

"Also, the road outside the factory is being repaved, and the streetlights in the surrounding area are getting rewired. They'll provide better visibility at night."

It was clear that they had held meetings and thoroughly planned these improvements.

Wu Heng didn't see much need for streetlights.

The sentries were skeletons, and whether it was night or day made little difference to them.

But with an abundant power supply, restoring streetlights along one section of road wasn't an issue.

"Go ahead with your plan."

"Okay!" Qi Hancai beamed, happy that her ideas had been approved.

With the factory matters settled,

Wu Heng asked, "What about the mutated zombies Li Yanhong was supposed to convert into skeletons and send over?"

"They've already arrived. They're stationed in the forest behind the factory," Qi Hancai replied.

"Let's go have a look," Wu Heng said.

The two of them left the dormitory and headed to the wooded area outside the factory.

The open ground was filled with hulking, armored skeletons, including Big Guy, Second Big Guy, and numerous other skeletons converted from mutated zombies.

All of these skeletons had been created from mutated zombies.

Most of them were second- and third-tier strength-type mutated skeletons, including Big Guy skeletons and crawler skeletons.

The commander and Big Head skeletons weren't part of this group.

They had been stationed elsewhere to help survivors manage ordinary skeletons.

"They're all here—220 in total. I didn't realize we'd taken down so many mutated zombies," Qi Hancai said.

"It's quite a lot," Wu Heng replied with a casual wave of his hand.

A rift appeared out of thin air, and a stone gate opened, revealing a luxurious bedroom and a hot spring in the middle of a grassy field.

The scene quickly shifted.

The furnishings vanished, transforming the space into a simple, spacious armory.

"Everyone inside, stand by," Wu Heng commanded.

At his order, the mutated skeletons began moving.

They jostled one another as they filed into the armory.

Once they were inside, they stood at attention.

Wu Heng adjusted their positions, making sure they weren't bunched together, and then deactivated the Mansion Spell.

The armory and everything inside it disappeared.

Qi Hancai's eyes widened as she glanced back and forth between Wu Heng and the spot where the armory had been.

A new ability!

This was clearly a power she hadn't seen before.

The central station had been pushing for them to send samples of their ability users' blood to aid in research.

What a joke.

Their leader already had the most comprehensive and diverse set of abilities—he didn't need any outside help.

"Let's head back," Wu Heng said, having stored away the mutated skeletons.

Qi Hancai followed closely behind him as they made their way back.

...

That afternoon, they had lunch together in the cafeteria.

Qi Hancai quietly briefed him on the key personnel from the provincial rescue team,

including managers, team leaders, and technical experts from Tiancheng Group.

As Wu Heng ate, he listened attentively to her descriptions.

The rescue team had brought a significant number of people, but none of them were familiar faces.

One commendable thing about the rescue team's escape was that they hadn't abandoned the civilians.

Even though the convoy had been split into several groups, they had ensured that everyone was evacuated.

After lunch, they returned to the dormitory.

Qi Hancai removed her coat, revealing a white turtleneck sweater that accentuated her figure.

She smoothed her hair, her cheeks slightly flushed. "I'm going to take a shower."

"No rush—we have plenty of time before dark," Wu Heng said as he took off his coat.

Her cheeks turned even redder. "Okay."

Wu Heng sat on the edge of the bed, thinking about their future plans while waiting for her.

If everything went smoothly, Gold-Silver Island's power supply could be fully operational in a few days.

Once that happened, they could establish some production lines on the island.

Designing and developing the production equipment would require skilled professionals, which made retaining the experts from Tiancheng Group essential.

Qi Hancai had been working to win them over these past few days.

If they still refused to stay, Wu Heng was prepared to keep them by force.

He would make sure they helped design the machines his side needed.

As he was mulling over his plans, the bathroom door opened.

Qi Hancai emerged, wrapped in a white bathrobe.

"Do you want to shower now?"

"In a bit." Wu Heng took off his clothes and headed to the bathroom.

"Okay," she said, kneeling on the bed to arrange the bedding.

Wu Heng quickly showered and returned to the bedroom.

Qi Hancai moved closer to him, their bodies pressed together.

"Come here, lie down," she said, pulling him onto the bed.

She let her bathrobe slip off, revealing her soft, flawless skin.

With her bare feet, she pressed against the wall and slowly walked upward until she was suspended upside down over Wu Heng.

"What's this performance supposed to be?" Wu Heng asked.

"I couldn't reach properly," Qi Hancai said, tilting her head.

Wu Heng grabbed a pillow and placed it under his waist, adjusting his position.

Blushing, Qi Hancai extended her tongue and gently licked before taking him into her mouth.

As she hung upside down, she began to slowly rotate in circles.

...

By the time Wu Heng returned to Gold-Silver Island, it was dusk.

He descended the stairs, and the catgirl Robe waved at him excitedly. "Master, dinner's ready!"

"Alright," Wu Heng replied, heading to the dining table.

Dinner was plentiful, and they ate while chatting about their day.

Andviel chewed slowly and said, "Master, the streetlights have been installed, but they don't seem to be working like the ones in Rentam City."

Over the past few days, skeleton electricians and the island's construction crew had been setting up utility poles and streetlights in the central area,

preparing for Gold-Silver Island's power grid.

"They're different from Rentam City's. You'll see the effect in a few days," Wu Heng explained.

"Oh, I thought they were broken," she said.

"They're not broken. Just wait—you'll see they're even better than Rentam City's."

"Really? Now I'm excited!" Andviel smiled.

After dinner,

the maids rested briefly before heading to the training room.

Meanwhile, Wu Heng sat in his study and unlocked the Earth Coffin Spell he had recently acquired.

He then casually chatted with the two spirits, trying to see if Glenda had any other wishes.

But it seemed her only unresolved desire was to burn her husband alive as revenge.

Wu Heng asked her to describe her husband's appearance and name.

He jotted down the details on a piece of paper, intending to investigate later.

Late at night, Wu Heng returned to his room to sleep.

...

The next morning.

After breakfast, Wu Heng stood in the courtyard.

He gathered magical energy into his staff.

The ground beneath him churned as earth elemental energy surrounded him, forming an upright earthen coffin that enclosed his body.

Slowly, the earthen coffin sank into the ground, burying him beneath the surface.

Only faint traces of disturbance remained above ground.

Sealed within the coffin, Wu Heng found himself in complete darkness, his movements restricted by the cramped space.

The air grew thin, making it difficult to breathe.

After a while, he adjusted the spell, and the coffin began to rise back to the surface.

As it reached the ground, the earthen coffin crumbled apart, restoring his view.

When he turned around, he saw Minnie, Annette, and Robe standing there—each holding a shovel.
