"Good," Tobirama said with approval in his eyes. "You should know the weakness of the Flying Thunder God technique. Against someone else with space-time jutsu, my own abilities get weakened significantly. So don't hold back."
He then turned to look at Obito behind him. "That guy's eye power is starting to recover too. Hurry up, Sasuke."
Being able to call an Uchiha by name in a normal tone—Sasuke was only the second one.
"Then, here I come," Sasuke said seriously.
His Rinnegan and Mangekyō shone at the same time, and lightning crackled around him. In the next second, his figure vanished.
Compared to the Flying Thunder God technique, the advantage of Amenotejikara was that it didn't require a huge chakra surge to activate. Even with Tobirama's sensory abilities, he couldn't immediately detect it.
But Tobirama was a space-time jutsu expert himself. Almost the instant Sasuke disappeared, his body reacted instinctively—grabbing Obito and teleporting again.
"Lightning Release: Chidori Current!"
Just as Tobirama landed, a deafening crackle of lightning erupted behind him. A massive surge of electricity struck, and even with his Edo Tensei body, he felt a strange numbing sensation.
Tobirama reacted quickly. Without hesitation, he let go of Obito and teleported again, vanishing from the spot.
Landing a short distance away, he glanced at his shoulder—now shattered by Chidori. A serious expression crossed his face. "I see. You're swapping yourself with something else… Looks like your space-time jutsu has its limits."
That's right—just now, Sasuke and Obito had switched places.
Obito stood dumbfounded where Sasuke had been. The whole exchange had taken less than a second—his Sharingan couldn't even track their movements.
This space-time jutsu was much faster than Kamui…
Of course, when it came to range, Kamui still had the advantage.
Paper scraps fluttered around Tobirama as they began to repair his body. He nodded slightly at Sasuke. "Not bad. But if you had attacked Obito directly just now, there was at least a 50% chance you could've killed him."
"Yeah," Sasuke admitted. "But at that moment, my only target was you. I instinctively attacked you first—only after striking did I realize it."
Tobirama formed a hand seal while speaking. "Always confirm your enemy's identity and position. Don't get distracted by what's in front of you—"
He suddenly frowned, his voice turning serious. "This jutsu… Sasuke, be careful. This is a technique I specifically created to counter the Uchiha—Genjutsu:
'Bringer of Darkness.'"
This genjutsu didn't deal damage, but it was powerful because it completely robbed the target of their sight, plunging them into total darkness.
It was highly targeted. Yes, it was meant for those who relied on their eyes.
He never said it was for the Uchiha… Oh wait, he did. Never mind, then.
Sasuke, however, was already aware of this jutsu. His father's scrolls had mentioned it, though they didn't include a way to counter it—just a warning to be careful.
If this were before, he really would've had to watch out. But with his Tomoe Rinnegan? This technique wasn't a threat.
As soon as the darkness covered him, a glint flickered in his eyes. His Mangekyō did go dark for a moment, but his Tomoe Rinnegan remained unaffected.
As expected of the powerful Six Paths Yin Power.
Tobirama, looking rather reluctant, formed another seal. "Water Release: Water Severing Wave!"
A high-pressure jet of water shot out—its cutting power rivaled a blade.
But Sasuke didn't flinch.
"Lightning Release: Chidori Sharp Spear!"
As the two jutsu clashed and canceled each other out, Tobirama barely had time to react before his body moved on its own—pulling out a kunai and rushing forward.
"So since genjutsu and ninjutsu don't work, you're using taijutsu now?" Tobirama muttered in frustration. "Damn it. This jutsu really retains my battle instincts… Good thing there's only this much chakra left. Otherwise, even this kid would have trouble winning."
With the Flying Thunder God and all kinds of forbidden jutsu at his disposal, Tobirama was an even bigger problem than Minato. A ninja with extreme speed and mastery over water techniques, combined with the fact that he couldn't die in his reanimated state—Sasuke, without prior intel, wouldn't have much of an advantage.
At least he was glad Tobirama wasn't at full power right now.
Tobirama closed in on Sasuke, his body instinctively launching into a series of Taijutsu attacks. Sasuke blocked each one, occasionally counterattacking, but in terms of pure hand-to-hand combat, Tobirama was definitely superior.
As Sasuke dodged another strike, Tobirama pressed forward and spoke while attacking. "If you can't take me down quickly, don't waste time on me. Find a way to stop the Flying Thunder God and take out that Obito guy."
As long as the Flying Thunder God wasn't neutralized, even if Sasuke found an opening to attack Obito, Tobirama would intercept him before he could land a hit.
"Got it." Sasuke understood. He was also waiting for an opportunity.
If that's the case, then I won't hold back. I'll go all out!
Kakashi and the others should be able to handle themselves!
With that thought, Sasuke's eyes suddenly turned purple. His blood-red Mangekyō Sharingan took on a strange hue, blending with the deep purple of his newly awakened Rinnegan.
Tobirama's eyes lit up. "Sage Mode? It doesn't feel like my brother's, and it's different from Mount Myōboku's. Are you from Ryūchi Cave?"
"Yeah." Sasuke nodded. With a flick of his wrist, he thrust his sword forward, and the sudden burst of power forced Tobirama to retreat uncontrollably.
Behind Sasuke, a massive purple Susano'o began to form. "Sage Art: Kagutsuchi—Amaterasu Arrow!"
The third-stage Susano'o pulled back its bowstring, forming an arrow of black flames. Amplified by natural energy, the arrow shot forward at blinding speed, aiming straight at Tobirama from close range.
From a distance, Madara turned his head as he sensed the overwhelming energy. Seeing the enormous purple Susano'o, he smirked with interest. "Such powerful eyes. I see… So this is the strength of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan."
"This probably isn't even his full power." Hashirama, standing beside him, nodded. "He's holding back to avoid dragging others into the fight."
Mito sighed, glancing at the three who had broken free from the sealing jutsu. "You've already been surpassed by the younger generation. At this rate, you're just slowing that kid down. If you don't step up, this battle won't have anything to do with you anymore."
The three exchanged glances before gripping their kunai tightly.
Kurenai took a deep breath. "Mito-sama is right. We don't have time to keep testing things out."
Asuma spat out his cigarette and gripped his trench knives with both hands. "Kakashi, I'll handle Uchiha Madara and the First Hokage. Kurenai, you take the old man. Mito-sama is all yours—only your Sharingan can deal with her unpredictable sealing techniques."
Genjutsu wouldn't work on Madara or Hashirama. Mito's sealing jutsu was something no one had seen before. Since Kakashi had the most combat experience, it was best for him to take on Mito, whose abilities were mostly unknown. That left Sarutobi Hiruzen to Kurenai.
This was the best way to split their efforts.
Kakashi didn't object, but he sounded slightly worried. "You sure you can handle two legendary ninjas at once?"
"Yeah, it's gonna be tough." Asuma grinned like it was nothing. "But I can't back down. Besides, they're not at their peak. So just hurry up and take care of your fights and come help me—if you're too slow, I'll be dead."
His words were half-joking, but the seriousness in his voice was obvious.
Kurenai stood beside him and let out a helpless laugh. "You still have time to joke around at a time like this?"
"Well, staying positive isn't a bad thing." Kakashi moved to stand next to Asuma. "Let's spread out the battlefield a little. Give Sasuke the space to fight at full strength. As long as he takes down Obito… this whole thing ends."
"Yeah!" Asuma's expression turned firm.
