Amid the firelight, Sasuke vanished from his original position, dodging the attack and landing further away. He first made sure Kakashi and the others were safe, then silently turned to face Senju Tobirama.
Since the opponent had space-time techniques, the only one who could deal with him was Sasuke.
But Sasuke had a question. "I remember that Flying Thunder God requires pre-set markings for teleportation. Obito didn't have any of your markings before this, so how did you teleport him?"
Tobirama, looking annoyed, replied, "Before coming here, the caster had me mark some creatures called White Zetsu with my teleportation seal. While you weren't paying attention, one of them ran over to Uchiha Obito, preparing the transfer in advance."
That said, being controlled like this was truly frustrating.
He didn't want to protect Obito, but his body moved on its own.
His chakra wasn't on the same level as his older brother or Madara. Even they would struggle to resist this level of control, though they might at least put up some resistance. But he? He couldn't even move freely.
Tch. He was the one who created this technique, yet having it used against him was beyond infuriating.
"I see," Sasuke nodded. "White Zetsu is great at sneaking around. If I don't get close, even I'd have trouble noticing them. But if it were Naruto, his strong sensory abilities would let him detect White Zetsu before they even got close."
If Sasuke had used his abilities to sense hidden enemies, he could've spotted them too. With his Rinnegan, he definitely had that capability.
"Naruto?" Tobirama thought for a moment. "That White Zetsu… I could sense it, probably because my current body was created using White Zetsu as a sacrifice. If Naruto can sense them directly, his perception is quite impressive."
"So, why isn't he here?"
Even as he spoke, his hands moved on their own, forming hand seals.
Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet!
A massive water dragon formed out of thin air, roaring as it lunged at Sasuke.
Of course, a jutsu like this wouldn't hit Sasuke. But the fact that Tobirama could create such a large-scale Water Style technique in a place without any water truly proved why he was called the God of Water.
"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!" Sasuke quickly formed seals, spitting out a fiery dragon that clashed with the water dragon.
As the two dragons exploded and vanished, Sasuke finally explained, "Naruto went to support the Sand Village. The Akatsuki is currently—"
"They're gathering the Tailed Beasts to bring back the legendary Ten-Tails, but things aren't looking too good right now."
"The Ten-Tails?" Tobirama frowned, though he wasn't too shocked. It was hard to understand, but not completely impossible.
He could understand it—just barely.
Tobirama turned to glance at Obito behind him, his frown deepening. "You need the Rinnegan to revive the Ten-Tails?"
"Yes," Sasuke nodded. "According to the Sage of the Six Paths, reviving the Ten-Tails requires summoning its husk using the Rinnegan. Then, the Tailed Beasts have to be sealed inside it one by one, from the One-Tail to the Nine-Tails. After that, the Ten-Tails will slowly revive from its current form as the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and return to its complete state."
"What about the Nine-Tails?" Tobirama asked seriously.
Sasuke paused for a moment, then chuckled. As expected of the Second Hokage—he immediately spotted the flaw. "Naruto is the current Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. His situation is too complicated to explain fully, but you just need to know that he only has half of the Nine-Tails inside him. The other half is sealed inside the Fourth Hokage. But Naruto's strength is about the same as mine, so the Akatsuki can't deal with him anymore."
"That's why they attacked Konohagakure—to get the Fourth Hokage's body. Their goal was to use Edo Tensei to bring him back and then seal the other half of the Nine-Tails inside the Ten-Tails instead of taking it from Naruto."
If he had to explain Minato and Naruto's story, it would take forever.
Luckily, Tobirama was sharp enough to follow along. He didn't fully understand what had happened, but he grasped the key points of Sasuke's words.
He frowned as he looked at Obito behind him, lost in thought. After a while, he finally asked, "What's the situation in Konohagakure?"
"Minimal casualties," Sasuke said. "The Akatsuki kept Naruto and me occupied, then attacked the village while we were gone. Konohagakure was almost completely destroyed, but thanks to the efforts of the Fifth Hokage Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Sakura, there weren't many deaths. It's just... the buildings took a serious hit."
Honestly, he wanted to say the place was a total disaster.
"Little Tsuna is the Fifth Hokage?" Tobirama was surprised but also a little proud. Still, his tone remained strict. "Her training wasn't enough if she let the enemy attack the village."
After saying that, he asked again, "That Jiraiya and Sakura—what clans are they from?"
"Uh… they're both civilians," Sasuke rubbed his cheek. "The enemy was an orphan from the Uzumaki Clan who lived in the Land of Rain. His name is Nagato—"
"Jiraiya is a student of Mount Myoboku. As for Sakura..."
Sasuke glanced into the distance at the girl still treating Konan. His face softened into a small smile. "That girl is Sakura. Her last name is Haruno. She's a civilian, Tsunade-sama's student, and the heir of Shikkotsu Forest."
"Me, Sakura, and Naruto—we were all trained by the guy with the Sharingan over there, Hatake Kakashi."
Tobirama looked at Sasuke, then at Sakura with a hint of approval. But when his gaze landed on Kakashi, his expression suddenly turned stern. "Your strength is decent, but your chakra is too weak. You're not an Uchiha, yet you've transplanted a Sharingan. It may have made you stronger, but it also limits your potential."
"Shortsighted!"
With one sentence, he completely dismissed Kakashi.
But this was Tobirama—the man who studied the Sharingan in depth. In just an instant, he had seen through Kakashi's biggest flaw.
Sasuke hesitated as he looked at Tobirama. Then, under Obito's oddly amused gaze, he said, "Uh... Lord Tobirama, the situation is complicated, so I'll make it simple—Kakashi's Sharingan came from the guy you're protecting right now."
Tobirama froze, then instinctively turned to look at Obito behind him. His expression became... indescribable.
Yeah... this situation was definitely complicated.
Obito tightened his grip on Nagato and spoke in a low voice, "I've regretted that decision more times than I can count. Now, I fully understand—Kakashi is a useless fool who can't be trusted."
His voice was deep, his words heavy—but no one paid him any attention.
Tobirama completely ignored the guy who was irritating him. Instead, he looked at Sasuke with admiration. "You're not bad. Among the Uchiha, you're the second one I don't feel any hostility toward. I'll remember you, Uchiha Sasuke."
The first was his old comrade, Uchiha Kagami.
Sasuke chuckled. He had noticed from the start that Tobirama harbored a faint hostility toward him. But it wasn't just directed at him—it was aimed at the name 'Uchiha' itself.
That hostility still remained, but it was no longer directed at him. In Tobirama's eyes, it seemed Sasuke was no longer just another 'Uchiha.'
Sasuke gripped his sword, his Rinnegan glowing faintly. "I think that covers everything. Now, Lord Tobirama—let's get serious."
