"What, what is happening?! Why did Aurora appear? There has never been such a reaction before!"
Jack looked at the arena in panic.
The witch was currently fighting against Midnight. Even the Cult of Diablos, which had controlled the sanctuary for centuries, had never successfully summoned this witch.
Jack looked at Midnight with fear in his eyes.
He had already heard of the Night Raid and its leader.
Just by looking at him, Jack felt chills running down his spine.
But…
"Hmph! That person is Midnight? What terrible luck for him to have summoned Aurora. She was the witch who nearly destroyed the world. He's surely going to die."
"Is that so?"
"Eh?"
"Although I don't know how strong Aurora truly is, I don't believe he will lose so easily."
Rose and Iris stared intently at the arena.
Just the warm-up clash between the two had already made them feel frightened and overwhelmed.
"Doesn't the Sanctuary choose a suitable opponent based on the challenger's strength? That man was chosen by the witch who possesses the power to destroy the world… doesn't that also mean he himself is strong enough to rival such destruction?"
"How could that be possible…?"
Jack began to sweat coldly.
As one of the twelve highest-ranking officials of the cult, he was well aware of the terrifying power of Aurora, the Witch of Calamity.
That was why it was impossible for him to believe—or accept—that there still existed humans in this world capable of rivaling this witch.
Beta narrowed her eyes.
She pulled a small notebook from her chest.
[The true appearance of the Witch of Disaster, Aurora, has been confirmed. This fighting method using blood as the medium of attack is consistent with our earlier assumptions. However, there are still many things that need to be verified, but…]
The silver-haired elf wrote furiously in the notebook, her writing speed so fast that afterimages appeared. At that pace, she could easily fill ten of those notebooks in a single day!
[No matter who or what Aurora is! I should pay more attention to the Master right now!! Ah, today the Master looks so majestic as well. I've fallen in love with him all over again~~]
Beta took two seconds to sketch Aurora's appearance before recording her master's stance.
At the same time, she cast a cold glance at Jack.
[That damned bald old man actually said the Master would lose!]
Then, she continued staring at the figure in the arena with fascination and intoxication. Beta's cheeks turned red, and she unconsciously pressed her legs together.
[No matter how strong Aurora is, Master will never lose~]
[Look at that tall, robust body, with an aura almost tangible—like that of a king. From any angle, his figure is in perfect proportions~ I just can't stop writing!]
This elf had entered her springtime once again.
"It's been so long since I've felt this happy,"
Leon cheerfully brandished his sword.
He had not used magic, nor magic items, nor many abilities—only his swordsmanship.
And yet, no one had been able to compete with him for long. At the very least, this was the first time he had met someone who could endure under his sword for so long without suffering injuries.
"Haha~"
Aurora laughed as well.
She raised her hands as if to embrace Leon, but the next instant, countless blood-forged weapons shot forward.
To the onlookers, she appeared as a witch unleashing a wild torrent of blood. But against that wild torrent, Leon caught everything with a single sword.
The battle between the two was like a dance.
Every magic swordsman present stared in awe at the elegant, beautiful, dangerous, and deadly duel.
They believed they were witnessing the ultimate offense and defense—but the very next moment, that record was shattered once again.
They were convinced in that instant that the dark-haired man and woman in the arena were beings whose heels they could never hope to reach, no matter how hard they tried for the rest of their lives!
"That's a fine move, uh-huh~ Miss Aurora, I truly would like to invite you for afternoon tea, if possible."
Leon was enjoying himself immensely.
The number of blood-forged weapons in the field was increasing.
Covering almost the entire arena, dozens of them flew at him every second—but each one was stopped by his sword.
It truly looked as though they were practicing the art of combat.
But…
"You're being restrained? What a pity."
Leon sighed. From his perspective, Aurora was bound by countless invisible chains. Neither he nor she had used their full strength.
It was like a delightful game, but only the trial version had been released. While fun to play, it wasn't fully satisfying.
"I really want to fight you at your peak."
"Sorry."
"It's time to end this."
Leon's eyes turned cold.
He no longer dodged or resisted.
Instead, he casually swung his sword through the air.
"!!!"
In the very next second, all of the blood-forged weapons dissipated.
The sword, now brimming with magic, glowed a deep crimson.
Then, moving with teleport-like speed, he advanced upon the witch and swung his sword once more with ease.
The witch did not bleed, for her body was originally composed of magical power. Once destroyed, it gradually transformed into particles of light and faded away.
.......
Aurora felt no dissatisfaction.
She still wore an elegant smile, though her beautiful violet eyes looked at Leon, filled with expectation and joy.
"I've finally found you."
"Hm?"
He froze for a moment, but by then, Aurora had already dissipated.
At the same time, all the girls in the VIP seats let out sighs of relief. What a marvelous battle!
Just watching it filled them with excitement. Had they not been wary of his mysterious identity, they would have applauded with all their might.
However, some people did not share such appreciation.
"How can this be! Aurora lost? Haha! I must be dreaming—how could that witch possibly lose?"
Archbishop Jack Nelson was utterly shocked.
It had to be remembered that Aurora, the Witch of Disaster, was the very demon Diablos whom the cult sought to resurrect—yet that witch had truly lost in a one-on-one battle?
It was simply absurd.
And before he had time to recover from the blow—
BOOM—!!!
A massive dark-red magic circle appeared.
It expanded and shifted in the air, finally taking the shape of a gate.
Leon: "Excellent. The Sanctuary Gate has been opened. It's time to rescue the witch."
He snapped his fingers.
Suddenly, a large number of girls in black appeared in the arena.
The Night Raid girls swiftly eliminated the guardian knights, and the blonde elf stepped to Leon's side.
Alpha: "As expected of you. Thank you for your hard work, Master."
Leon: "The rest is up to you."
Alpha: "Leave it to me. I won't let you down."
(End of Chapter)
"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
