This crazy scene unfolded before the surrounding Konoha-nin, and all of them froze for a moment, their throats bobbing as they swallowed subconsciously. None of them had expected such a turn of events.
They vaguely guessed what those eager ninjas were thinking.
Trying to get a certificate of honor? No—this was something more.
If they wanted to be acknowledged by Namikaze Mirai in the future and gain status once the tide of the war shifted, they had to show their worth now. These battles were being watched. Their every move might decide their position in the new future. To survive in the turmoil that would follow, they had to earn recognition on this very battlefield.
With their eyes flickering with ambition and urgency, the Konoha-nin seemed to make a collective decision. Their grips tightened around their kunai. Their hearts pounded with tension.
"Come on!!" one of them shouted, and a new wave of energy surged through the Konoha forces.
Their attack power abruptly increased as they charged toward the opposing Kumogakure shinobi with renewed intensity, driven by both fear and desire for honor.
Even Yamanaka Inoichi and the other high-ranking officials were stunned by the transformation they were witnessing.
"Isn't this... psychological warfare?" Inoichi muttered, incredulous. "It's like some kind of PUA strategy... but for war."
It was absurd, yet somehow brilliant. This godlike momentum boost had rendered Konoha's troops nearly unstoppable. The Kumo-nin, caught off guard, began suffering heavy losses. They could only stagger back in retreat.
The once-arrogant expressions on the Kumo side began to crumble.
How could this be? Nii Yugito's entrance was supposed to be a morale-shattering event for the Konoha forces. Her status as a Jinchūriki alone should have inspired dread.
But instead—Konoha's morale had surged to an overwhelming high.
Kumo's tactical advantage had suddenly crumbled. Their momentum flipped in an instant. The ones pressing forward were now being pushed back.
Yugito, overwhelmed by relentless pursuit, finally snapped.
Chased like a wild beast by a squad of fiery-eyed Uchiha, her frustration reached its limit. After all, she wasn't just anyone—she was the proud Nibi no Bakeneko (Two-Tails, the Demon Cat), the most noble Jinchūriki of Kumogakure.
"You forced me!!" she shrieked.
Her palms slammed against the earth, back arched like a feline ready to pounce. Her eyes glowed with eerie coldness as dark blue chakra flared around her like raging flames. It wasn't just chakra—it was tailed beast chakra, rich and full of malevolent will.
Her body swelled and expanded.
Suddenly, a vast shadow spread across the battlefield as her form transformed.
A blood-curdling shriek—inhuman and piercing—rang across the battlefield. It was as sharp and chilling as the scream of a cat demon in the dead of night.
Konoha and Kumo shinobi alike turned their heads in dread.
A drop of cold sweat fell from the forehead of nearly every shinobi present.
The Two-Tails had manifested.
The Two-Tails had reappeared in her full form—massive, majestic, and horrifying.
Her burning-yellow eyes, brimming with rage, stared down from high above at the pursuing Uchiha. Her voice rang out, eerie and razor-sharp.
"This... is the price of irritating me!"
Her massive form surged forward, and with each thunderous step, the battlefield trembled. Blue flames scorched the earth wherever her paws landed.
The Uchiha ninja didn't flinch. They rapidly formed seals, and moments later, a massive fireball exploded from one of them.
Fire-style ∙ Great Fireball Jutsu!
The enormous fireball engulfed the Two-Tails, illuminating the battlefield in fiery orange. But when the flames cleared, it was as if nothing had happened. The Two-Tails's body, composed of ethereal chakra flames, remained unscathed. Regular fire release was ineffective.
"Go to hell!" the Two-Tails howled.
Her enormous paw came crashing down with terrifying force.
But then—
It froze.
Her claws, just moments away from crushing an Uchiha, halted in mid-air. Her eyes widened, a glassy dullness overtaking them. Her body trembled and then... froze completely.
The battlefield fell silent.
Kumo-nin were stunned.
Behind them, the commander Dodai gasped.
"What... what happened?!"
He squinted and suddenly seemed to realize something. His pupils shrank with shock.
"No... it can't be... don't tell me—"
A soft breeze flowed across the field.
Namikaze Mirai smiled faintly.
He turned his eyes toward the man standing firm, facing the Two-Tails alone.
"Fugaku... So you've finally decided to act."
At that moment, in Uchiha Fugaku's eyes, a different kind of Sharingan spun. It wasn't the familiar three-tomoe pattern. No, his eyes had evolved.
Three curved blades of darkness formed a shuriken-like pattern with three-tomoe on their ends.
The Mangekyō Sharingan.
The surrounding Uchiha gasped.
"That's not a normal Sharingan..."
"The clan leader... has eyes like that?!"
"He controlled the Two-Tails instantly! Unbelievable!"
Staring at their leader, the Uchiha burst into wild laughter.
"As expected of our clan leader!" one cried.
"He's as terrifying as Madara-sama himself!"
The laughter carried across the battlefield, echoing into the ears of the Kumo-nin.
A shiver ran down their spines.
The Two-Tails, their ace, was paralyzed in an instant.
The massive cat trembled.
Even as the Two-Tails struggled to break free from Fugaku's fearsome visual prowess, his expression remained calm.
In the past, he had concealed these eyes to avoid panic among the village's higher-ups. But now, with the Uchiha name on the line, there was no need to hide.
With all his strength unleashed, the battlefield belonged to him.
Jet-black chakra erupted from his body. A skeletal ribcage of pure chakra materialized, forming a towering humanoid structure.
Susanoo!
The skeletal arm of the Susanoo swung fiercely, colliding against the frozen Two-Tails.
*BOOM!!*
The Two-Tails's huge body went flying across the field, flattening a line of Kumo-nin and cratering the ground in its wake.
Uchiha Itachi's jaw dropped.
'Father... is this your true power?' he thought, his heart trembling with awe.
His entire life, Fugaku had remained distant, composed, and stern. He had never shown his full strength before the clan.
But now, Itachi realized just how terrifyingly powerful his father truly was.
"The real strength of Uchiha Fugaku... is this overwhelming..."
Around him, Konoha-nin murmured in awe. Some shook their heads in disbelief. Others clenched their fists with pride.
Fugaku had become a symbol.
Yamanaka Inoichi's throat was dry as he glanced sideways at Namikaze Mirai.
'He knew. He must've known all along... just how strong Uchiha Fugaku is. How many trump cards has Mirai prepared?!'
But before the shock faded—
A sudden massive whip noise cut through the air.
A colossal tentacle swept across the field, slamming toward a large group of Konoha shinobi.
"W-What now?!" a shinobi shouted.
An octopus-like shadow towered over them.
Another Jinchūriki.
The Eight-Tails.
Kumogakure had sent both of their Jinchūriki into this war.
Dodai's face relaxed a little. "Killer Bee..."
Meanwhile, the experienced shinobi on Konoha's side narrowed their eyes.
Two Jinchūriki. A declaration of all-out war.
Fear gripped the hearts of many Konoha-nin.
How were they supposed to fight against two tailed beasts?
That's when Namikaze Mirai stepped forward.
With a flick of his fingers, a high-pitched metallic tremor filled the air.
All across the battlefield, the kunai and swords he had previously embedded in the earth, abandoned during earlier skirmishes, began to rise.
Thousands of blades floated into the air, spinning and shimmering.
The sky became a sea of cold steel.
Peacock's Descent.
Every eye turned upward.
Even the Eight-Tails paused, its tentacles twitching as it sensed the chakra concentrating above.
The storm of blades surged toward the enemy lines like a hurricane of death.
Kumo-nin screamed.
Tentacles whipped around, attempting to deflect the barrage. Some blades were blocked, but many pierced through.
The battlefield became a river of blood and steel.
Dodai watched in horror.
His thoughts flashed back to the legends of the last war.
Two colors had defined Konoha's terror:
The 'Yellow Flash', who struck from nowhere and took heads before enemies even noticed.
And the 'Blue Flash', who controlled the very battlefield, manipulating metal like a god.
Today, the 'Blue Flash' had returned.
Namikaze Mirai stood at the center of the chaos, kunai surrounding him like a crown of blades.
This... was his battlefield.
