Closing the report, she tucked the file back in one of her desk drawers. Then, pushing her chair, she stood, taking the phone in her hand.
"I have finished going through those files. You can have them delivered to the respective departments," she instructed her secretary.
Mia nodded briskly.
Arwen glanced at her watch. Seeing that it was past afternoon, she asked, "If there is nothing else for today, I will be leaving."
Mia quickly checked her tablet before speaking again. "There is something that I forgot to report to you, ma'am."
Arwen stared at her, "What is it?" she asked, patiently.
"Officer Davis has tried to reach you earlier," Mia explained. "He said they have secured new evidence regarding your accident. And … they have taken Ms. Ember into custody."
Arwen's brows arched faintly. "They have taken Delyth into custody?" she repeated, almost as though she needed to hear it again to believe it.
