From afar, they could see steam rising from the three-way junction.

The visible dishes included stir-fried Chinese cabbage with large chunks of meat; it looked more stewed than fried, a common characteristic of large-pot cooking. There was also a type of green vegetable that Zhou Li couldn't name, pale green with white streaks.
