Maxwell, it turned out, got a call shortly before they finished dinner and had to do some work because of the call. It sounded rather serious, which meant Andrew was left to clean up and probably have the night to himself. He wanted to be near Maxwell as he worked, but also didn't want to distract him.
Especially as Maxwell's voice started to rise in volume. It sounded like someone had fucked up, and now Maxwell had to clean up the mess. Oof.
Andrew went about making sure the house was spotless before he made himself home on the couch in the living room, keeping an ear out for Maxwell as he set to work researching separation anxiety, symptoms, and anything that he could do.
Andrew was slightly relieved that at first it didn't sound too different from a normal anxiety disorder. It was only as he read more about how it could affect work life balance that he felt a cold sweat run down his spine.
