Daji hoots with laughter while the Gigantes finish pummeling our hips and thighs, then flip us both over. The Gigantes glare at her for the first time--they have mellow dispositions, but Daji sometimes wiggles so much when she laughs that she can't keep still.
Wheezing with laughter, Daji says, "I remember hearing about the lotus bath, and how irascible Kulkulkan was. He has always been quixotic. But you truly didn't suspect anything at that point?"
"I just thought it was a neat trick," I confess, blushing. "I mean, spas put flower petals in baths all the time. I know they just appeared out of nowhere, which i thought was strange, but I surmised that someone did that behind the scenes."
"What, that perfect lotus petals just shot out of the water jets?"
