Ash glanced at the brilliant light emanating from his backpack and suddenly remembered something crucial.
"That's it!" he exclaimed with sudden realization.
Looking at the glowing object, Ash quickly crouched down and pulled his backpack in front of him. He unzipped it hurriedly and peered at the luminous item inside. His suspicion had been correct all along.
He swiftly retrieved the object and held it up in his hands. Brock and Misty stared at Ash's palm, which was completely shrouded in light, making it impossible to see what he was holding clearly.
"Electabuzz!" Ash called out as he stood up.
Taking the ball of light in his hand, he threw it directly toward the struggling Electric-type Pokemon. Electabuzz turned its head slightly and saw Ash's glowing projectile coming toward it. The Pokemon seemed to sense that the saffron-colored light was filled with incredible electrical energy.
Turning back to face forward, Electabuzz watched as the protective barrier's luminescence gradually began to fade. A look of determination flashed in the Electric-type's eyes as it stood completely motionless.
THUD!
The light ball thrown by Ash struck the back of Electabuzz's head. With a brilliant flash, the light dispersed, and Misty and Brock could finally see what had been concealed within the radiance.
Wrapped in the light was a yellow device. They immediately recognized it as the Electirizer that had been given to them by the Pikachu community during their time in the Pikachu Forest.
BOOM!
The moment the light dissipated, Electabuzz opened its eyes wide and felt a tremendous surge of power flowing into its body. Strong electrical currents began coursing through its system unconsciously.
The current connected with the Electirizer, and the powerful energy that had been stored within the device for so long in the Pikachu Forest began to emerge. The forces from both sources attracted each other like magnets.
The Electirizer became wrapped in crackling lightning, while Electabuzz's body began emitting a dazzling radiance. The device gradually transformed into pure energy and merged completely with the glowing Electric-type Pokemon.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
In an instant, Electabuzz's body erupted with astonishing electrical power radiating in all directions. Massive amounts of lightning emerged, forming what appeared to be an enormous Electric Web.
The surge of power caused Electabuzz's protective barrier to disperse entirely. Simultaneously, the electrical current spread outward over a wide area, directly intercepting and neutralizing the mud attacks coming from all directions.
The current also spread to the nearby drainage ditch, where the electricity was conducted through the water. The Grimer that were positioned in the water were struck by the electrical discharge carried by the flowing liquid.
Their movements paused momentarily, and their coordinated attack was smoothly disrupted.
Cassidy and Butch, who were positioned at the front of the battle, were even more shocked by this unexpected turn of events. Solrock quickly spread its arms to cast Light Screen in an attempt to defend against the powerful electrical assault.
The lightning struck Solrock's barrier with tremendous force, creating an instant impact that echoed through the sewer tunnel. However, Solrock had severely underestimated the power that Electabuzz now possessed.
After absorbing the energy from the Electirizer, this was no longer the same Pokemon they had been fighting. Its electrical abilities had grown exponentially beyond anything they had previously encountered.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Under the violent lightning assault, the transparent protective shield began to develop visible cracks that spread rapidly across its surface. The damage quickly became irreversible.
Shock filled Solrock's eyes as it witnessed its defense crumbling. Before the Rock-type could react or reinforce its barrier, the lightning had already broken through the Light Screen completely.
BOOM!
The high-voltage electricity instantly struck Solrock with devastating force, and Raticate, which was positioned nearby, was caught in the electrical blast as well. Both Team Rocket Pokemon were sent flying backward by the overwhelming power of the lightning attack.
"AHHHHH!"
The two Pokemon crashed directly into Cassidy and Butch, and the Team Rocket operatives experienced the same treatment typically reserved for Jessie and James. They were instantly electrocuted and let out continuous screams of pain.
An explosion followed, filling the area around the two criminals with thick smoke. Unlike Jessie and James, however, they clearly didn't possess the same cartoon resilience and weren't launched into the sky.
As the smoke gradually cleared, both Team Rocket members and their respective Pokemon were revealed to be completely blackened and breathing out dark fumes. The Grimer that had been under hypnotic control were also affected by the Thunder Shock, but they didn't hold any grudge against Ash and his friends after recovering from the psychic influence.
Everyone turned their attention to the imposing figure standing where the electrical discharge had originated. As the residual energy gradually dissipated, a tall silhouette became visible. Both Misty and Brock wore expressions of complete amazement.
The previous Electabuzz had stood only about 1.1 meters tall, but the figure before them now towered at approximately 1.8 meters in height. It was much taller than any of the three trainers, and from their current angle, they could only see its back.
The Pokemon's body was covered in saffron-colored fur, with a distinctive circle of black hair resembling an electrical socket on its back. This pattern extended down to its rear, where two slender black tails had grown. These appendages looked remarkably like electrical cables, with bright red tips at their ends.
Slowly turning around, the evolved Pokemon revealed black fur covering its face and chest, along with two thick layers of mane surrounding its head. The dark hair around its eyes made it appear as though it was wearing natural sunglasses.
Two antenna-like protrusions grew from the top of its head, resembling lightning rods. Beneath the abundant fur were a pair of remarkably long arms with a very distinctive structure. Unlike human arms, which have thicker biceps and more slender forearms, this Pokemon's arms were thinner at the biceps but irregularly thick at the forearms. Each wrist was adorned with a circle of black fur that looked like protective wristbands.
Its open palms contained five pitch-black fingers, allowing for incredible dexterity and free movement. Not only were its arms impressive, but its legs were also long and powerfully built, with extremely well-developed muscle definition.
As it faced them with round, scarlet eyes, a confident, toothy smile spread across its face.
"Is this evolution?!" Brock and Misty exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with wonder.
Electabuzz had indeed evolved, and honestly, neither of them had ever witnessed an Electabuzz evolution before. Moreover, this Pokemon was completely unfamiliar to them, which wasn't surprising given its rarity.
Ash smiled knowingly when he saw the transformed Pokemon. The evolutionary history of the Electabuzz line was truly unique among all Pokemon species. In the original Pokemon series, the evolutionary chain actually began with Electabuzz, meaning that Electabuzz was among the very first Pokemon ever created and appeared in the original generation of games.
The pre-evolved form of Electabuzz, known as Elekid, didn't appear until the second-generation Gold and Silver versions. In the anime series, Elekid's first appearance was associated with one of Ash's traveling companions during the Orange Islands adventure.
A Pokemon researcher had been sketching in the wild and had drawn a Pokemon with a distinctive plug-shaped head. While the full creature hadn't been visible, observant viewers could easily identify it as Elekid just from the characteristic head design.
Therefore, the evolutionary timeline of the Electric-type family started with Electabuzz and then later introduced its initial form, Elekid, creating a unique backwards development in the Pokemon world.
