Chapter 8 - The Strongest Trainer with His Relaxed Life : 8. Construction Completed

The next day, Brian took them to see the construction on his land, which was nearly complete.

Ann: "Brother Brian, is this your place?"

Brian: "Yes. Why?"

Ann: "It's so cool!" she said enthusiastically.

Brian smiled at her excitement.

Brian: "How did you sleep last night? Was it good?"

Ann: "It was amazing! Even Lim, Gats, Song Ye, Ye Yan, and Otto wouldn't have woken up if we hadn't shaken them, right, Nova?"

Nova: "Yes, Brother Brian, they were like pigs. But Brother Jeremy still woke up early, as usual."

Lim: "That's because it was so comfortable, right, Gats?"

Gats: "Yeah, we haven't slept that well in a long time."

Brian smiled again. Of the five children, Jeremy stood out—calm, mature, and naturally taking the role of a responsible older brother. Even though he was the same age as Brian's younger brother, Alan, his demeanor was far more composed. Perhaps growing up surrounded by younger kids had shaped him that way.

Yesterday, Brian had learned all their ages: Jeremy was 16, Ann, Nova, Gats, and Lim were 15, Song Ye and Otto were 12, and the youngest, Ye Yan, was just 10.

After touring the area, Brian and the eight of them headed to a restaurant for a meal.

Days passed, and soon all the construction was complete. That day, Brian's family moved into the manor, and Brian also invited the eight to live in the dormitory. He introduced them to his family, who welcomed them warmly—especially after hearing their story. Brian's mother felt deep sympathy for the younger three and began to pay special attention to them. She and Brian's father agreed to send Ye Yan, Otto, and Song Ye to school.

They even gave all eight of them the Culler family name.

The children were overjoyed. They could feel that Brian's family truly accepted them. Jeremy, especially—having been an orphan even before the war—felt a deep warmth. Determined to protect this newfound home, he silently made a vow to himself.

In the end, instead of staying in the dormitory, the eight lived together with Brian's family. They were now one family.

The next day, Brian's parents took the trio—Ye Yan, Otto, and Song Ye—to register for school. Jeremy, as the eldest, stayed behind to help Brian look after the shop.

While at the shop, Jeremy glanced at Brian's Pokémon, then looked serious.

Jeremy: "Brother Brian, I… I want your help to capture a Pokémon."

Brian: "Oh? Why do you want to catch a Pokémon? Do you want to become a trainer?"

Jeremy: "I… I want to protect this family," he said, cheeks turning red.

Brian was a little surprised. They had only been together for three days, yet Jeremy was already thinking this way. It warmed his heart.

Brian: "Alright, I believe you. What kind of Pokémon do you like?"

Jeremy: "Normal type. I heard they don't take double damage from any attribute."

Brian: "True, though their attacks aren't that strong. Still, a good choice. Tomorrow we'll go to Yellow Forest."

Then he added, "I'll take you to a hidden garden. There are lots of green-quality Pokémon there."

Ann: "Brother, we want Pokémon too!"

Gats: "Yeah, me too! I want a Grass type."

Lim: "Water type for me."

Nova: "I want a Psychic type—so I can heal my brother's Pokémon."

Brian: "Alright, we'll go tomorrow."

The next day, Brian took the five of them to the hidden garden. Even though he'd been there many times, he still looked left and right—one could never know when a rare Pokémon might appear.

Sure enough, he spotted a blue-quality Zigzagoon. Brian frowned slightly—this was already the fifth blue-quality Pokémon he'd encountered. High-quality Pokémon seemed almost too easy to find lately.

Brian: "Jeremy, you can try catching that Zigzagoon over there."

Ann: "Is it strong, Brother Brian? It looks so small."

Brian didn't answer her, just looked at Jeremy. Seeing that look, Jeremy felt an unshakable confidence in Brian's choice.

Jeremy: "Alright, I'll trust you."

He approached the Zigzagoon and tossed a Pokéball. It was still young, so there was no need to battle or weaken it first.

After catching it, the group continued toward the hidden garden.

Brian: "We're here," he said, pointing at a small opening just big enough for one person.

Ann: "Brother, are we going in there?"

Brian: "Yes. Don't be surprised once you're inside. Jeremy, you first."

Curious, they all followed—Jeremy, Gats, Lim, Nova, Ann, and finally Brian.

Inside, the scene opened up like another world. Pokémon flew overhead, others nibbled on tree fruit.

Ann: "Is this… heaven?"

Nova: "It's beautiful!"

The boys nodded in agreement.

Brian: "Amazing, isn't it? I found this place a while ago. I call it the Hidden Garden."

Jeremy: "It really is a hidden garden."

Brian told them to catch the Pokémon they wanted. By 4 p.m., they all returned to their meeting point.

Jeremy caught a Meowth and a Pidgey.Ann caught an Eevee and a Vulpix.Nova caught a Slowpoke and a Chimecho.Gats caught a Bellsprout and an Exeggcute.Lim caught a Feebas, a Goldeen, and a Carvanha.

Brian was surprised about Lim's Feebas—it was blue-quality and even had the move Dragon Breath, meaning one of its parents was a Dragon type.

Brian: "Since everyone has their Pokémon now, let's head back. I'm sure Mom's worried we're not home yet."

All: "Yes, Brother!"
