Seated around the massive round table were Earth's champions and newfound allies: Aiden Blake, flanked by Valeria Richards and Gwen Stacy; Captain Marvel sat with her arms folded, her sharp gaze locked on the projections; across from her, Adam Warlock stood still, statuesque and unreadable. General Rael and Nova Prime Richard Rider were seated beside Director Fury and the President of the United States, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Thor leaned against the table with casual readiness, watching the room with an amused glint.
Above them, a central hologram projected a three-dimensional map of the solar system, ringed with tactical markers. Red points blinked ominously in the void—each representing the known positions of Thanos' incoming fleet.
Fury stood, his voice cutting through the silence. "Let's get to the point. We've confirmed visual data—Thanos' main armada is moving through our galaxy. Five hundred warships. Some of them large enough to cast shadows over cities. ETA to Earth: one week."
The hologram shifted. Several crimson icons clustered behind the flagship—an ominous formation.
Rael took a step forward. "These aren't just ships. Thanos doesn't rely on numbers alone. He brings monsters. Beings handpicked from the darkest reaches of the universe—his generals."
Aiden narrowed his eyes. "Well go on… Name them."
Richard nodded. The hologram changed again, reshaping into six humanoid silhouettes, each marked by their own distinct aura of menace.
"The first," Richard began, "is Proxima Midnight. Thanos' personal huntress. Expert in close-quarters combat. Her spear bends space itself. She eliminates high-value targets with frightening speed."
Carol's eyes narrowed. "I'll handle her. She'll be mine."
Thor chuckled. "Oh? We're taking claims now, eh? I like it."
"Second," Rael added, "Corvus Glaive. Proxima's mate. Loyal, ruthless. His glaive grants him pseudo-immortality—he can regenerate endlessly as long as the weapon remains intact."
Gwen raised her hand. "We can work with that. If the glaive is the source, we just need to separate him from it. Valeria?"
Still tapping on her device, Valeria replied without glancing up. "Already sketching a prototype. Electromagnetic destabilizer. Disrupts the weapon's harmonic field. With Gwen's help, we could deliver it via nanite dispersion—possibly remote."
"Good," Aiden muttered, nodding with approval.
Rael continued. "Third—Black Dwarf, also known as Cull Obsidian. A brute. Towering. Nearly indestructible. Raw, relentless power."
Thor's grin widened. "Ah, there he is. Mine."
"Fourth is Ebony Maw," said Carol, her tone grave. "Not a physical threat. But mentally? He's a master manipulator. Telekinetic, telepathic. He'll twist your thoughts before you even realize you're compromised."
Adam Warlock's voice was calm, measured. "Keep him away from the front lines. I'll handle him. His reach will not touch my mind."
The image shifted again.
"Fifth—Supergiant," Rael said. "Another telepath. More aggressive than Maw. She devours knowledge—feeds on intellect itself. Thought dead, but clearly she lives."
Valeria frowned. "We'll need full-spectrum psychic dampeners. I'll design synchronized field emitters. If she tries to extract mental data, she'll enter a feedback loop."
"I'll help," Gwen added. "We'll make them portable. Field-deployable."
Aiden looked at them both. "Told you you'd be useful in this meeting. Already solving half the problems. Keep going."
"And the last," Richard said, voice growing grim, "is a new addition. Carni Vex. No origin. No intel. He appears out of nowhere… and leaves nothing. Entire squadrons gone. No survivors. No footage. Just annihilation."
"No weaknesses?" Fury asked.
Rael shook her head. "None recorded. We believe he's less of a general and more of a symbol. A message: resistance is pointless."
President Valentina, who had remained quiet until now, finally spoke. "The U.S. military has a contingency for that particular problem."
Aiden glanced at her. "So you're using that… sure, why not."
Silence fell like a weight on the room.
Valentina leaned forward. "Then we prepare for six generals—and Thanos himself, wielding four Infinity Stones. Divide and isolate. That's our best strategy. Agreed?"
Nods circled the table.
Carol exhaled. "Three lines of defense. Orbital. Planetary. Ground. Nova forces handle space. Earth's armies and Avengers take the surface. And you, Aiden…" She turned to him. "As our Dragon God… you're our final line. You take Thanos."
Aiden leaned back, expression unreadable. He said nothing.
Gwen broke the momentary stillness. "We'll compile a full combat simulation package. Every known general. Tactics. Weaknesses. Deploy it globally."
Valeria followed up. "I'll maintain communications across all defense layers. Even if the grid collapses—we stay online. We stay connected."
"Good," Fury said. "Then we move to the final issue: Stone security. We still have the Time Stone under the care of Doctor…" he trailed off.
Aiden's gaze sharpened. "Where the hell is Strange?"
Fury hesitated… then sighed. "Unknown. We've tried everything. The Sanctum is sealed. His trail—gone. We've had no contact for weeks."
Aiden leaned forward slowly, his voice sharp and heavy with disdain. "So you're telling me that our fucking guaranteed Stone is god damn missing? Great one Fury....Great one"
...
Kamar-Taj sat quiet beneath the orange sky, its ancient halls bathed in silence. The soft hum of magical wards buzzed gently through the air as Aiden Blake and Carol Danvers stood at the gates of the inner sanctum. Yet for all the mysticism, all the magic and knowledge housed within its walls, no one had answers.
Not a single sorcerer knew where Doctor Strange had gone. No notes, no magical signals, not even a trace of his aura remained. It was as if he had vanished from existence itself.
Aiden stood still, eyes locked on the floor of the sanctum. His hands clenched into fists, jaw tightening.
"Nothing," Carol said after a moment. "Not even Wong knows where he went."
Aiden didn't reply. He just exhaled sharply through his nose and muttered—
"Fuck…"
Carol folded her arms and tried to offer some reassurance. "I know you're frustrated… but maybe it's not all bad—"
"And why is that, huh?" snapped Aiden, eyes cutting toward her.
Carol blinked. "Without knowing where the stones are, Thanos can't get them. He can't complete the Gauntlet. And he won't be able to wipe out the Universe. That's... if we lose."
Aiden stared at her like she'd just said the dumbest thing in the galaxy.
"Carol… are you a fucking human, or alien?"
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" she shot back, incredulous. "What does that mean?"
"It means," Aiden growled, "that it sure as hell seems like you're fine with Thanos destroying Earth—as long as the rest of the universe gets saved."
Carol's expression twisted. "There are trillions of lives out there, Aiden. We should—"
"FUCK THEM."
Aiden's voice slammed through the air like thunder.
"Fuck them," Aiden snapped. "You think this is a hero game? That this is about noble sacrifice and high ideals? No. We protect our home. Earth survives because we forged our own gods, our own legends. If Thanos was targeting another planet and the universe wasn't at stake, I wouldn't give two shits. The only reason I care now is because he's coming here."
He stepped toward her, voice deep with conviction. "The only reason I even consider Nova is because they bent the knee and made themselves part of my home. But the rest?" He looked up at the sky as if speaking to some distant star. "The rest of the universe can burn. Where the fuck were they when Galactus came to eat us? Huh? Where were all the noble aliens and ancient civilizations then?"
Carol's eyes narrowed. "We're heroes."
"No," Aiden said coldly. "You are. Not me. I'm a God. And a God takes care of his people. I want what's best for Earth. And maybe Nova. That's it."
A tense silence followed. The fire in Aiden's eyes refused to die down.
Then—
"Did I arrive at a bad time?" came a voice from behind.
Aiden turned sharply.
There stood Doctor Stephen Strange, casually adjusting the crimson Cloak of Levitation around his shoulders, his tone calm, as if he'd just returned from a grocery run.
Aiden's eyes flared.
"Motherfucker, where have you BEEN?!"
