Chapter 459 - Chapter 460: The Thoughts and Calculations of Poros and Poseidon – Sea Monsters and Angels!

Humanity!

There's no denying it—humanity's potential is terrifyingly high.

That's why,

in every World of Myths, humans are invariably the main protagonists. This is the strength of humanity as a race: whenever there's significant external pressure, humanity can unleash an extraordinary level of power.

This is why,

at the end of a world's lifespan, just before its inevitable destruction, the World of Myths often draws in invasions by outer gods or certain malevolent entities.

This method forces humanity to realize its potential, allowing the World of Myths to transcend and avoid its destined demise.

This is the core truth for both the World of Myths and humanity itself.

But there's also another aspect:

When external threats are absent, humanity's internal strife between nations becomes their greatest obstacle, and genuine unity is rare.

Humanity is driven by an inherent greed, and while this greed may not be a negative trait,

it's through this very greed that humanity has continually advanced and stretched the limits of its capabilities.

This is a fundamental aspect of humanity's nature.

In fact, it's fair to say that humanity's progress owes much to this quality. This is the core truth, and the main reason behind humanity's growth.

And this!

is humanity's essence.

Therefore,

with humanity now confronting the challenges before it, what will the future bring?

The answer is self-evident!

At the very least,

in this racial war, facing external threats, humanity's response has been nothing short of terrifying.

If this power continues to grow…

it's chilling to imagine what could happen. The sheer potential of humanity is frightening to behold.

The gods may feel dread.

In fact,

during this racial war, the gods find themselves in an awkward position.

Unable to directly intervene, the more pressure the gods apply, the more terrifying humanity's response becomes.

Unless you possess overwhelming power to crush humanity entirely,

you can never be sure of the extent of their strength or what they may unleash.

In Heaven,

"Heh heh heh…" Poros chuckled softly, saying, "This is fascinating! Demeter, tell me, do you think humanity will ultimately fail in this racial war?"

"This…"

Demeter hesitated, then shook her head. "If things continue as they are, humanity may very well end up victorious."

Demeter seemed to want to say more.

Majesty!

You are an invincible being, and your creation, the angelic race, is destined to replace humanity as the main force in the World of Myths.

However…

anyone who has observed the battlefield would reach the same inevitable conclusion: humanity is too formidable. If this goes on, with humanity's boundless potential, defeating them seems nearly impossible!

It's a daunting realization.

A truly indescribable terror.

"Heh heh heh…"

"Indeed!"

Poros smiled thoughtfully. "Hades should have been better prepared, but now he is staying isolated in the far north, refusing to expand. What do you suppose is the reason for that?"

"This…"

Demeter fell silent, lost in thought.

Nearby,

Hermes contemplated for a moment before speaking quietly, "Majesty, could it be that the Lord of the Underworld has reached some sort of agreement with the World of Myths? It seems likely that such an agreement was made in exchange for Europa's birth, as the Underworld could not have taken her without paying some price."

"Exactly."

Poros nodded with a smile. "You're right, Hermes. But that's only part of it. If Hades truly wanted to secure the role of the main protagonist, his preparations and the power he's amassed in the northern Spartan kingdom would surely make him a strong contender."

"But!"

"Hades has practically abandoned this pursuit."

"The core reason,"

"isn't just some transaction with the World of Myths; it's that Hades himself has decided it's not worth it."

"This…"

Hearing this, Hermes fell into silence.

How could that be?

If his own creation were to become the World of Myths' protagonist, it would bring him incomparable growth and rewards. Why else would the gods be so eager to compete?

Because!

It's the greatest opportunity possible, far beyond simply becoming a God-King or breaking existing limits. It could lead to entry into the realm of the Ancient Gods.

But…

Hermes seemed to have realized something, and his face grew dark. He murmured, "Majesty, if my suspicions are correct…"

He trailed off, unsure of how to continue.

Poros looked at him with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. Speak freely. I'm curious about your thoughts."

To be honest,

unlike the raw power of the Underworld and the support of the Five Sea Gods aiding the oceans,

Heaven has suffered considerably after a period of division. This loss isn't only in strength.

In truth,

it's a fundamental weakening across all aspects. Think of Prometheus's once-stunning power or Metis's wisdom as the Goddess of Wisdom.

But now?
