Chapter 460 - Chapter 459: Athena Secures the Power to Slay Gods – The Ideal Outcome for the Gods

Without anyone realizing it, the Underworld has gradually begun to withdraw from the World of Myths.

To put it differently:

Hades' divine power has steadily grown, his strength advancing step by step. Now, he is starting to break free from the World of Myths.

In other words,

without fully committing to his duties, he has been performing them and, in doing so, gaining strength.

His gains have been immense.

This is no exaggeration.

Hades is advancing quickly; anyone can see that it won't be long before he completely breaks free from the constraints of the World of Myths.

After all!

Once Hades reaches the level of an Ancient God, his very essence will undergo a drastic transformation. At that point, not even the World of Myths will be able to bind him.

In fact,

the World of Myths is already struggling to restrain Hades.

He could leave the World of Myths with the Underworld if he chose.

And if Hades did make that choice, regardless of what the World of Myths might desire, the outcome would be irreversible.

This is simply unchangeable.

For this reason,

this gradual departure is the core of his progress. With this foundation, Hades can fully detach himself from the World of Myths.

In truth,

Kronos, the mighty Titan God-King, once stood in the same position as Hades does now. If Kronos had been willing to relinquish his powers, he too could have easily freed himself from the World of Myths.

There would have been no need to seek transcendence.

For a God-King, stepping into the Ancient God realm fundamentally transforms everything.

This fact is undeniable.

Thus,

given this current state, the eventual outcome is difficult to describe or change.

This is simply the truth.

But

Hades is fundamentally different from his father, and that cannot be altered.

On the surface world:

Step, step, step…

With steady footsteps, a short man with black hair walked slowly into the Sanctuary, observing the space before him and muttering, "Sanctuary!"

"Pegasus."

Prometheus smiled as he looked at the man before him. "I didn't expect you to come into being this way."

"I didn't expect it either."

Pegasus replied calmly, "According to the original plan, I should have been born from the union of my father and mother. But now, I have come into existence in a unique manner. However, whether this is good or bad is hard to say."

Pegasus was calm, his gaze devoid of emotion.

Clearly!

These matters were of little concern to him.

Poseidon and Medusa.

They were meant to be Pegasus's parents.

Yet,

due to the birth of the power to slay gods, Pegasus, as its holder, was brought into existence prematurely. Pegasus, the God-Slaying Power, and the Pegasus Constellation—these three are inherently intertwined, forming a perfect union that will never change.

This is their unalterable fate.

Forever!

This will never change.

And!

Though born human, Pegasus knew his true nature from the beginning. He has grown and now stands here in the Sanctuary.

Of course,

Pegasus's order of development has changed, but his essence has not.

In the original tale, Pegasus would be born as the Divine Horse, master the God-Slaying Power, and then attain the Pegasus Constellation.

In this version, Pegasus was born human, then gained the God-Slaying Power, ascended to the Pegasus Constellation, and will ultimately become the Divine Horse.

Although the sequence may differ, in essence, these things remain the same. This is the central truth.

No matter the time, this core truth will remain unchanged.

Therefore,

Pegasus arrived in the Sanctuary, and Prometheus had known that he would come.

"Come, let's go see the goddess."

"Hmm."

Pegasus nodded coldly in response to Prometheus's words.

The two entered the goddess's temple.

Meanwhile,

as the God-Slaying Power entered the Sanctuary, the gods all sensed its presence.

But!

They collectively sighed in relief.

While the God-Slaying Power had appeared among humans and would surely aid them,

the situation would be different if another god wielded that power. Such a scenario would have a significant impact on the racial war.

But only the Sanctuary posed no threat, as it hadn't joined the war.

The gods understood well that the Sanctuary wasn't invested in the war's outcome. Regardless of who won, the Sanctuary would still reign as the lord of the earth.

For this reason!

The Sanctuary would profit either way—it was merely a matter of degree, something not worth dwelling on.

Naturally,

the God-Slaying Power falling into the Sanctuary's hands was the best possible result for the gods, an entirely acceptable outcome.

However,

they remained wary of the God-Slaying Power, as its existence—outside of the gods' grasp—meant it would only aid humanity.

Humanity, after all, is the main player in this conflict. Although many other races are actively opposing them,

humanity is like a tightly wound spring; the more pressure placed on them, the stronger they'll rebound. Heroes continue to emerge, more powerful and numerous than ever.

That's humanity!

Without external threats, humans are often their own worst enemies.

But!

With immense external pressure,

ha! The force humanity can unleash will send chills down anyone's spine!
