She then pushed the blanket away and sat up, her feet landing on her sandals. She hid her gaze as she let her hair cover her small face. She stood up reluctantly and with slow counted steps she started walking as slowly as she could towards him.
Not once did she look at him and her gaze was fixed on the floor. She finally reached him and stood in front of him not looking up but from her standing point, she could see him still patting his lap.
She could also feel his stare and she could only imagine the grin on his face. She did not know what to do next as she did not imagine sitting on his lap at all. It never crossed her mind even once but here she was fulfilling her promise.
She looked at his slightly patted legs and sluggishly walked between his legs, her gaze still fixed on the floor. But the next step required courage. How could she take the initiative? She could not even raise her head to look at him in the first place.
The chair was slightly high such that as she stood facing sideways, her waist reached Alaric's lap and to sit on his lap, she had to hold onto something. She slowly scanned him to look for anything to hold on to so she would haul herself up.
After looking for a few seconds, she gave in and placed both her hands on his thighs behind herself such that her hips were between her arms. Her right hand on the upper part and the left hand close to the knee.
She took a deep breath and with a small haul, she was able to sit on his lap but she seem to have forgotten that this was not a chair and she suddenly lost balance and she could feel she would fall backwards.
Without thinking, she instinctively held onto his neck and pulled herself upwards and through the 'ordeal' she had her face covered by her hair and she did not dare look up but at this moment, she looked up as her hair was blown backwards by the sudden pause and her face became clear.
Also her hands grasped tightly on his neck and her eyes met his as she pulled herself up. His green eyes could not hide his amusement. She gazed into his green eyes and they appeared like green emerald gems that had a sparkle in them.
But the more she looked at his eyes, the view seemed to change. It no longer was the gems but it was different. It was like she was suddenly at the most beautiful of the lush green grass during the ends of the rains with sparkles of dew illuminating the sun rays.
Her already erratic heart seemed to calm down. It was as though she was lying on the grass peacefully when she felt his hand on her waist. She wanted to explore more of his face but she was stuck in those eyes.
She did not even realize the smirk on his face when he saw her staring at him. She was jolted awake in the next instant by his abrupt action. She felt his hand on her lower jaw and he was pulling her so that she would look up even further.
His finger then reached for the few loose strands of her hair and tucked them behind her ears. It was his turn to stare and take in her delicate feature. Her narrow delicate nose. Her violet eyes that seemed to have a life in them.
Her narrow nose and her delicately curved lips that seemed to invite him to savour them. Her flushed cheeks did not hide her embarrassment when she felt his gaze on her.
Now she thought of it, this was the first time she was intimate with him but if Alaric heard her thoughts, he would laugh at her as he would recall a certain scene when they were affected by a psychedelic.
Feeling his hand going down her neck and his palm pressing on it, she could not help but cling on that side. Alaric was not a fool and he could tell from how she had dressed in that thin strapped dress and how it did not have most of the covering on her chest and how it revealed her cleavage...
She yearned for him. But he knew that if anything, this was not the right time. But that didn't mean he wouldn't do more with her after she had walked herself into the lion's den.
Alaric could not help as he scoopped a handful of her hair and breathed in and the scent was intoxicating for him as he took another deep breath of her scent. His finger landed on her chin as he spoke softly.
"Kiss me," he said and his words seemed to jolt her back into her senses and she was frozen by his words in the next instant. She could not believe that he would say such words. She looked at his eyes as though to confirm that what he said was what she had heard.
But the smirk on his face said it all. She had not misheard anything.
"Remember your words." Though he did not say it aloud, she could feel that that was what his gaze was asking her to do. She felt helpless.
She felt like prey in a predator's den and the predator wanted the prey to offer its neck to it so it could get eaten. But she did not have a choice after she had take the initiative to come this far.
She steeled her mind as she took another deep breath and she slowly pulled herself up and himself down with his neck so that he would reach her level. When their lips were millimeters apart she closed her eyes but she felt him start pulling up and his voice came again and made her shudder.
"Open your eyes," the voice was calm but the words and his warm breath on her face sent her a cold shiver down her spine. She slowly opened her eyes after great battle with her mind and he lowered his head to his previous level.
She then left a peck on his lips and pulled away faster as though what she had kissed was not his soft lips but a hot pan. And Alaric's chuckle did not even reach her ears. She was completely lost in her mind.
It was exactly that. It was as though she had kissed a hot pan! It was impossible for a kiss to sent a jolt of electricity throughout her mind and make her race like that. But that was what it did! Her lips trembled from the small action.
Her heart raced. Her thoughts in disarray. Her cheeks heating up. Whatever that feeling was, she loved it and it was the best thing she had felt in her life. His lips were so soft when they touched and she now felt the best feeling in the world. Her first kiss!
Alaric chuckled again when he saw her reaction. Her cheeks were now red as tomato and also her ears. Her gaze was blank as though she was lost. But he wanted to laugh out loud. And he almost asked "you call that a kiss?" But instead...
"There are different types of kiss and I would not classify that as a kiss. You know a lot and you should also know how to kiss," Alaric said and Aurora was instantly pulled from her thoughts. Her gaze confused as she thought, "not satisfied?"
For her, that kiss was the best feeling in the world. The split second their lips were together felt like a lifetime for her. Yet here he was, not satisfied? She wanted to run away but his hand on her waist stopped her.
She could feel gaze that said "you promised." She could only swallow as she steeled her mind once again. He had not drawn away after she had so she only had to rise closer and kiss him again and they would be done.
She slowly rose up and when she was millimeters away from his lips she took in a deep breath and placed her lips on his and maintained that position for a while. Her mind short-circuiting the longer their lips were pressed on each other.
She stayed a while longer before pulling away slowly and looked at his amused expression. Was he not satisfied yet? She had relinquished the softeness of his lips and she felt she had had enough and was satisfied. Yet he was not?
Seeing her confused gaze, this time Alaric did not chuckle but he laughed. Her naivety was going to be the end of him.
"You call that a kiss?" He asked drawing an even more confused expression from her face.
That was not a kiss? Did he not know what a kiss was? Was he playing around with her? No matter what, there was no other way to kiss. That was how one kisses. She looked at him unsure of what he meant. But his next words made her already reddened cheeks to turn redder.
"You can do better..."
