William allowed Ahmanet to reach London mainly because he had realized from the very first time Carol destroyed her—only for her to quickly resurrect—that reality had diverged significantly from the movie.
Although Set couldn't physically enter Earth, he could imbue Ahmanet with his power.
To truly kill the mummy princess, he first needed to strip away the divine power Set had granted her.
And to sever Set's influence on Earth, the best course of action was to destroy the artifacts that bore his mark—the Dagger of Set and the Jewel of Set—breaking the conditions that allowed his presence.
Alternatively, he could lure Set into manifesting and then banish him back to the underworld.
Though the second option carried some risks, it also presented an opportunity—if things went as planned, William might be able to tap into Carol's energy.
After all, her abilities were derived from the Space Stone. The thought alone stirred certain ambitions in William's heart.
If he succeeded, there would be no one left in the universe he needed to fear.
While Ahmanet hijacked the airliner bound for London, William glanced at the time and casually ended the card game at home.
He then descended into his underground chamber, teleported to the Oxford Castle basement, suited up in his Mark armor, and returned to London.
As he waited, he couldn't help but indulge his curiosity about Captain Marvel's powers.
"Sunday, deploy reconnaissance bots to search along the Thames, near the Anglican Cathedral. Locate the Templar underground tomb and retrieve a large red gemstone."
"Understood, sir."
A few minutes later, Sunday reported, "Sir, Ahmanet has begun attacking the airliner. She is approaching her intended destination."
William nodded indifferently. "Keep the triangular drones locked onto her."
Ahmanet had only started attacking the plane now to use the passengers as hostages, forcing Carol to split her focus while she slipped away to find the Dagger of Set.
But when she finally found it, she would realize that the red jewel containing Set's power had been hidden in a Templar underground tomb beneath the Anglican Cathedral nearly 900 years ago.
Of course, that wasn't Ahmanet's concern—William was more than happy to help her out.
Whether she liked the outcome or not was none of his concern.
---
In the skies over suburban London, Ahmanet clung to the fuselage of the passenger jet.
Shattering a window, she slipped inside and began draining the life force of the passengers.
Carol, who had been following closely behind, had no choice but to enter through the broken window to protect the civilians.
Unfortunately, after absorbing the souls of over ten passengers, Ahmanet instantly summoned more undead from their corpses.
Then, without engaging Carol, she smashed through another window on the opposite side and escaped.
Faced with a choice between stabilizing the now-compromised aircraft and pursuing Ahmanet, Carol hesitated only for a few seconds before prioritizing the plane.
She couldn't just leave innocent people to die, and the plane was already only a kilometer above the ground—getting it safely down wouldn't take long.
As she battled the undead attacking the remaining passengers, Carol asked Sunday, "Can you keep tracking Ahmanet?"
"Tracking her alone should be no problem, Ms. Danvers. We currently have over ten triangular high-altitude drones in the area.
Additionally, Mr. Devonshire has been informed of your situation and is prepared to provide immediate support."
Hearing that William was getting involved only made Carol more worried that Set might actually possess him.
"Tell that coward I've got this under control. He better not get in my way."
"I'm sorry, Ms. Danvers, but I cannot alter Mr. Devonshire's decisions. However, your message has been relayed to him."
---
Above the London suburbs, a golden light suddenly appeared above one of the triangular drones.
A moment later, William, clad in his Mark armor, hovered silently in midair.
Thanks to his steadily increasing mental strength, he could now lift objects weighing 1.2 tons without assistance.
As a result, he didn't even need to activate the Mark armor's propulsion system to remain airborne.
With only his eyes and chest reactor faintly glowing, he was nearly imperceptible against the vast night sky.
Watching as Ahmanet reverted to her human form and approached a nearby cathedral, William asked Sunday,
"Have we located the Templar tomb beneath the Anglican Cathedral?"
"Apologies, sir. The time frame has been too short. The reconnaissance bots have only just reached the Thames."
William smirked, knowing he had been impatient.
But the idea had only come to him after witnessing Ahmanet's persistent resurrections—he hadn't had time to prepare in advance.
Thinking back to how she had been submerged in liquid mercury for 5,000 years, he suddenly issued a new command:
"Prepare mercury injectors. Have the Black Blade drones and spider bots administer them into Ahmanet's body."
"Understood, sir."
For Sunday, mercury was just another standard material in storage. Within a minute, ten Black Blade drones and ten spider bots were ready.
To ensure there was enough, additional drones and bots were already undergoing modifications.
Soon, a drone carrier and spider deployment module appeared beside William and began moving toward the cathedral.
---
Meanwhile, inside the cathedral, Ahmanet had greedily absorbed the life force of everyone inside, transforming them into undead minions.
She followed her sensed connection to the Dagger of Set, finally arriving at the altar.
With a wave of her hand, she smashed the statue atop the altar, revealing the dagger hidden within.
But the moment she laid eyes on it, her expression twisted—not with joy, but with shock and fury.
"Where is it?!" she shrieked, smashing her fists into the altar. "Where is the Jewel of Set?!"
While Ahmanet furiously searched for the missing gemstone, the ten Black Blade drones silently closed in.
Without warning, they fired ten mercury injectors directly into her back.
Simultaneously, the spider bots were deployed, descending from the air and landing on her body.
With their razor-sharp metal legs, they latched onto her skin and began injecting mercury.
Within seconds, Ahmanet's movements slowed. Instinctively, she tried to transform into a sandstorm to escape.
But no matter how many times she attempted it, her limbs could partially turn to sand—yet her torso and head remained solid.
To make matters worse, the spider bots began discharging electricity, forcing her transformed limbs to revert back to their human form.
Seconds later, the drones returned to reload, then fired another round of mercury injectors at her.
Three rounds in, dozens of mercury needles pierced Ahmanet's body.
She began staggering, her movements sluggish.
When the spiders unleashed their remaining electric charge, she finally collapsed at the foot of the altar, her eyes filled with rage and unwillingness as she glared at the drones above.
But before she could even process what was happening, another wave of drones arrived—
This time, they carried even more powerful spider bots, specifically modified for mercury injection.
As they descended upon her, Ahmanet's eyes filled with absolute terror.
