In normal battle groups, Interstellar Warriors generally don't retire; while they may age and theoretically die of old age, in practice, no Interstellar Warrior with a lifespan spanning thousands of years has genuinely lived long enough to die of natural causes. The eventual outcome is either disappearance or death in battle.
Joining the Death Company simply accelerates that timeline.
