Chapter 407 - 406: Wheel of Myriad Tribulations

The Abyss of Death earned its name because anyone who ventured even remotely close to it would meet their end. The area surrounding it was filled with an incredibly dense, pitch-black Abyssal Dust that swallowed all light, leaving nothing but endless darkness.

Even a True God would find themselves blind and lost in this place. To Yun Wuji, however, this did not apply. On the contrary, his senses were enhanced countless times by the Abyssal Dust, as he could infuse his perception into it and extend his awareness far beyond normal limits.

Because of this, even though everything around him was shrouded in darkness, he could clearly see what lay before him.

At the center of the Abyss of Death, a place that was supposed to contain nothing but Abyssal Beasts, there was a figure that resembled a person curled into a ball.

The figure was enormous, easily spanning thousands of meters in size. It hung suspended in the air, its body curled inward as it hugged its knees.

"What is that?!" Li Suo and Hei Xiaolian exclaimed in astonishment and disbelief. Even as a former Creation God and a Heavenly Profound Treasure, they were still utterly stunned by the sight before them.

"I expected that something would be at the Abyss of Death... but this is a bit different from what I imagined," Yun Wuji muttered as he slowly walked closer. He had anticipated some super duper powerful beast dwelling at the center of the Endless Fog, but he had never expected it to take on a humanoid shape.

As for why he had assumed it would be an Abyssal Beast rather than a human, it was not just common sense leaning that way. All beasts had been corrupted by the Abyssal Dust, and the majority of Abyssal Beasts were born from it. It simply felt more rational to expect a powerful Abyssal Beast at the center than a human-shaped figure.

Yun Wuji made no effort to conceal his presence. He approached the figure with calm confidence, yet the enormous being showed no reaction, as if it were lost in a deep sleep.

When he was a few thousand meters away, Yun Wuji's expression suddenly changed. He swiftly raised his hand in front of him, and in that very instant, it felt as though a massive invisible hammer had struck him head-on!

BOOMM!

With a thunderous sound, Yun Wuji's figure was sent flying like a cannonball, streaking through the darkness before crashing into the distant ground. The impact carved a deep canyon in his wake, stretching far behind him.

"Wuji!" Li Suo and Hei Xiaolian shouted in horror and worry at the same time. Everything had happened so suddenly and without warning, catching them completely off guard.

Rising from the massive crater his impact had created, Yun Wuji brushed the dust off his body and said calmly, "I'm fine."

"Big brother was sent flying! That must've hurt, right, You'er?" Hong'er said while hugging a massive sword twice her height. Each time she bit into it, her teeth left clear marks on what was supposed to be an indestructible weapon.

"Big brother... is... hurt?" You'er blinked her multicolored eyes, set down the cake in her hands, and asked in a soft, worried tone.

"Nah, I'm not hurt, just surprised," Yun Wuji said with a smile at her, then turned his gaze to the gigantic figure, which had not moved at all. "That actually caught me off guard. When was the last time I was caught off guard like this?"

"When Chi Wuyao pulled you into a room full of SM toys?" Hei Xiaolian said, her careless tone returning once she realized he was unharmed.

"...Don't say things like that in front of the kids," Yun Wuji's face darkened. He took off into the air and slowly flew toward the giant once more. Earlier, he hadn't sensed anything before being sent flying by some invisible force. It was as if something had swatted him away when he approached the figure, but it had not continued its attack.

"Perhaps it's an invisible barrier? It's strange that I couldn't sense it," he murmured, narrowing his eyes as he focused his senses ahead. Soon, his expression grew serious. After concentrating all his senses for nearly five minutes, he finally discerned a strange force field surrounding the figure.

"Let's try again," Yun Wuji said. As he got closer, his hand flashed with silver light, and in the next instant, it transformed into a massive silver dragon arm. He clenched his dragon claws and slammed them against the invisible barrier with all his might!

BOOMMM!

The impact sent invisible waves rippling across the barrier, yet it remained unmoved. Yun Wuji, on the other hand, was once again sent flying, this time even faster than before.

Countless sonic booms erupted with each split second as he streaked through the air, only coming to a stop after traveling hundreds of kilometers.

"Strange, this barrier actually rebounded my strength back at me. Not only that, it combined with the same force from earlier," Yun Wuji muttered, narrowing his eyes as he stared at his numb dragon hand. This was the strongest barrier he had ever encountered in his life.

"Come to think of it, isn't this a good opportunity?" He suddenly smiled and stretched his arms forward. "Xiaolian, you're up. I choose you!"

"I am not a freaking Pokémon!" As soon as his words fell, a dark light, darker than even the surrounding darkness and so intense it was visible within it, flashed from Yun Wuji's body and converged in his hand. The space around him began to tremble violently as Hei Xiaolian's arrogant laughter rang out. "Hahahaha! Finally, it's this mommy's turn!"

A five-foot wheel with twelve sharp blades unfolded from it, each as dense and deadly as a devil's fangs. Its body was pitch black, yet perhaps its existence had already transcended "darkness." Even in absolute black, it could still be seen with perfect clarity. It was like the unblinking eye of a devil in an endless abyss.

"I thought you would never use me in this life. Sigh, this is the unfortunate thing about having a strong master. It makes you feel so useless," Hei Xiaolian spoke with excitement and joy. Ever since Yun Wuji became her master, he had never summoned the Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulations. "Hmm, thinking about it, you have used me many times, hehehe. My body has been used so many times that it has taken your shape."

"...Pervert," Li Suo muttered, facepalming in embarrassment at what was supposed to be an invincible Heavenly Profound Treasure.

"Lets try this time, I don't believe this barrier can stop me this time!" Yun Wuji said with a grin, the wheel in his hand spinning and emitting a sharp sound that mirrored his excitement. The barrier was strong, but Yun Wuji was not completely without a solution. If he used Invictus, he could more easily tear it apart, but just like Hei Xiaolian, he wanted to try using the Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulations.

The Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulations may be ranked second among the Seven Heavenly Profound Treasures, but in reality, it stands on the same level as the Heaven Punishing Ancestral Sword. In fact, when it comes to sheer destructive power, the Wheel is even more terrifying than the Sword.

BOOMM!

With a loud explosion, Yun Wuji transformed into a silver beam and shot toward the barrier at an astonishing speed. In a split second, he was already in front of it. Without a second thought, he raised his arms and swung the Wheel of Myriad Tribulations down at the barrier with all his strength!

Ripppp!!!!

The moment the Wheel made contact, the space cracked like a mirror before shattering. The impact rippled across thousands of kilometers around them, and a sharp, screeching ripping sound echoed, traveling tens of thousands of kilometers to reach the Abyssal Beasts far away, causing them to howl and tremble in fear.

Abyssal Beasts that were supposedly incapable of feeling fear curled their bodies and whimpered.

Crack!

The barrier split open before shattering like a fragile mirror.

"Hmph! There is nothing this mommy can't break!" Hei Xiaolian's arrogant voice rang out as she easily shattered the barrier. One could imagine her puffing out her chest proudly, hands planted firmly on her waist.

The Wheel of Myriad Tribulations possesses the power to even tear through the walls of Primal Chaos, so breaking a simple barrier was indeed effortless for it.

Rumble!

Just as Yun Wuji flew past the barrier, the gigantic figure that had remained silent all this time slowly uncurled. Its movement stirred the Abyssal Dust around it, creating a loud commotion. It rose into the air and fixed its gaze on Yun Wuji.
