I had an older brother whom my parents doted on for being a great athlete and I had a younger sister who was doted on for being someone so smart for her age.
As you could probably guess I, the middle child was treated like shit. They didn't really give me any attention or money for that matter.
Once, I needed some money for a school trip, and they shut me down! They said I was old enough to pay for it myself. But then, not even a week later, they went and bought my brother a brand-new BMW! I didn't even get a "Happy Birthday" from them, let alone a car!
So, I ended up working two jobs and using my employee discount to scrounge up some food while trying to survive school. Thank goodness I had some brains, or I don't think I would've made it. Oh, and they even wanted me to start paying rent when I was just 16, but I put my foot down and had to bring in some outside help to sort things out.
Then, my grandparents found out what was going on because I was working late shifts, and they showed up at the drive-through. That made my parents really mad at me cause they berated them. So, I packed up and moved into my college dorm in a hurry. And not long after that, my grandpa passed away, but he left enough money to cover my college.
Walking out of the bar I let out a sigh.
Today was a long day but thankfully I would be able to get more money before my classes started. This bar was a job I had gotten after I graduated high school. The pay was great but the main reason why I had gotten the job was because I could get a lot of tips.
It wasn't exactly hard many women came in heartbroken or needed a shoulder to cry on.

Looking at the guy in the hood who had a knife pointed at me I quickly brought the tip I received and gave it to the guy.
"Th-this is all I have," I said while giving him the money "Just don't kill me,"
"25 dollars? Are you kidding me!?" hearing him raise his voice I flinched.
Despite my scared front I was actually trying to figure a way out I then quickly raised my voice "Sorry man that's all the money I have please don't kill me!"
I then felt a sharp pain near my stomach and as I looked down I saw the knife piercing my stomach before the guy ran off.
Collapsing on the floor I tried to breathe but couldn't.
'Was I going to die? No, no, no not like this! I still need to attend college!'
I was lying there, and I could see the red blood pooling all around me. And then, right there in the middle of it all, I spotted the necklace my grandpa left me in his will. When the red blood touched it, the necklace started glowing a super bright pink. That's when I shut my eyes, and everything went black.
Gasping I looked at the white ceiling.
'Am I in the hospital?'
But then, just like that, the thought disappeared when I caught sight of the light pink status screen. I stared at that screen in front of me, and my expression went totally blank.

Looking at the status screen I grew even more confused.
Who was Maxwell Parker?
All of a sudden, a pounding headache slammed into me, causing me a ton of pain. But with that pain came a flood of memories rushing back.
My name is Maxwell Parker. I remembered having a dad who had gotten married again. I also had 2 step-sisters one was the same age as me while the other was 3 years older, however, a couple of months back both our parents passed away as they were in a...raid? This left me in the care of my step-sisters or well step-sister as the older one provided for us.
I jumped out of bed quickly and headed to the bathroom, staring at myself in the mirror. Black hair, green eyes, and a face that most people would probably call just "okay".

Then I tried to remember what the heck happened to me before I woke up here.

When my grandfather died they gave me an inheritance. But I remembered when it touched my blood it started to glow.
"What was it? And why the hell did Gramps have it?"
Those questions raced through my mind but I calmed down. The reason for that was I was probably already dead and I had a system with many more notifications.
Using my mind I scrolled through the notifications.

I then looked back at my status screen which was still fine. I quickly washed my face before I went back to my room to digest the knowledge of this world.
This world is known as Eldroia. The solar system here seemed to be similar to Earth's but what made this world different was the different races that were here. There were elves, beast people, vampires and demons as well as the fact magic existed here.
And despite that, this place had a lot of great technology that seemed to be pulled out of a sci-fi movie.
The people who could use magic were called mages. There were 2 types of mages, one was close combatant with the name Auroras while the other that shot spells from a distance were called Casters.
Being a mage was respectable but rare and only a few people had the ability to use mana.
But I didn't care about that.
"Magic's real here," I muttered
Everything went out of the window.
All of my concerns, my doubts, the system, everything went out the window.
My otaku dream had finally been realized, I could use magic!
However, I then remembered my status screen and noticed I didn't have any spells. Going through my memories I couldn't help but release a groan.
The previous Max was pretty much a slacker. Despite his father's offering he didn't take any magic training and wasn't interested in magic. What he wanted was a cozy job that didn't require a lot but paid a lot.
Honestly, I wanted the same in my previous life but come on there's magic here! Don't you wanna learn a simple clean spell or something?
"Ugh what a pain," I then started to explore the system.
"SP seems like stat points and speaking of my stats they seem like complete shit," mumbling to myself I then noticed my [Ero Points] "100 already?" I muttered
"Guess it's just a bonus or something," I then opened the [Ero Store] which had many skills but when I opened the Hero store I noticed it used the same currency while the skills were different but it also had...spells!
At first, I wanted to instantly buy the fireball spell but I stopped and calmed myself down "No I need to think this carefully,"
