Chapter 506: Becoming a Tyrant in the World of Death, With Thirty Percent Power
Soon, the Gold and Silver Ape King and Purgatory exchanged a few nostalgic words.
Then, it turned its attention to Borsalino.
"Marine Admiral Kizaru, my name is also Kizaru! If I had known, I would not have chosen this name." it said.
"It is truly unpleasant to share a name with a funny-looking human like you."
Borsalino felt speechless upon hearing the Gold and Silver Ape King's complaint.
Why was he suddenly attacked for his appearance?
What did it mean by a funny-looking human? Did he look amusing?
He recalled that many people had called him cute when he was a child!
"Forget it! For Purgatory's sake, I will give you a simple test." the Ape King said.
"Marine Admiral, you are quite qualified."
"As long as you can touch me, I will give you the treasure I possess."
Hearing the Gold and Silver Ape King's words, many Contestants nearby looked envious.
Marine Admirals had connections, did they not?
They struggled so hard and could not even get past the subspecies of Mythical beasts.
Yet, the Marine Admiral could directly face their leader for a test upon arrival. Was that not shameless?
Were they merely here to be outshined?
Many began to question their purpose, feeling that obtaining these treasures was too difficult.
What could these weaklings do?
Some had an idea and stopped focusing on treasures, instead eyeing the surrounding subspecies of Mythical beasts.
Subspecies of Mythical beasts!
With so many weaker, solitary ones around, why not target them?
They had come this far; they could not simply be outshone!
As some Contestants began considering alternative paths, under Borsalino's shocked gaze, the Gold and Silver Ape King turned into light particles and re-condensed on a tree nearby.
"Then, the test begins."
Without waiting for Borsalino to react, it transformed into golden light and leaped away.
Borsalino reacted instantly.
He turned into a beam of light and chased after it.
Only Akainu remained in place.
Akainu watched the two golden lights vanish, then turned his serious, cold eyes to the people around him.
Everyone he looked at lowered their heads or averted their gazes, not daring to meet his eyes.
With Borsalino gone, the atmosphere grew heavier in Akainu's presence.
This man's reputation outside was not favorable.
Akainu observed the people avoiding his gaze but said nothing.
His current goal was to test the power of his God Killer Equipment, and the best target was elsewhere.
He looked toward one direction of the Thunder Light Forest.
A circle of rocks blocked the view, marking the other half of the forest.
There, a legendary Sulong resided, as mentioned by the Mink tribe earlier.
This information had been relayed through Datori, the steward of the Magic Gold Chamber of Commerce, and Akainu had noted it.
Sulong?
As a purebred Mythical beast, it should not be weak. That was his target.
Akainu touched the gauntlet on his right arm.
The Purgatory Cage Hand, crafted from a Mythical beast simulating the Admiral Sun King's signature move.
Obtaining such a God Killer Equipment, Akainu felt a sense of destiny.
Admiral Sun King had defeated that man.
With this God Killer Equipment, he might have grasped a crucial hope.
Akainu clung to this belief.
Though it was merely a creation of Yamata God Orochimaru, it fueled his delusions.
Delusional or not, it was the hope Akainu held onto.
Swish!
Wrapped in red light, Akainu leaped forward, and those around him breathed a sigh of relief.
That was just how it was.
Marine Admiral Akainu was known to be unhinged, a widely accepted impression.
This man dared to challenge major pirates, demon kings, and even demon apostles alone on a warship.
He was called the tyrant of the world of death.
People wondered if he was mad or simply did not care to live.
Yet, he never died, which was intriguing.
Whoosh!
Soon, Akainu's figure reached the other half of the Thunder Light Forest.
From a high vantage point, he quickly spotted a conspicuous Mythical beast near a small lake.
A lion-like Mythical beast stood there.
Its white, plush fur fluttered in the wind, its slender body slightly hazy, as if cloaked in moonlight.
With one glance, Akainu confirmed it was the legendary Sulong.
Though he had only just heard of this legend, it was accurate.
Swish!
A flash of red light appeared.
Akainu landed in front of Sulong.
"Marine Admiral Akainu, why is this man here?" a voice exclaimed.
A group of mink tribe members and Shinko, sitting cross-legged nearby, looked at Akainu's sudden arrival in shock.
The Mink tribe was surprised, but Sulong remained calm.
Its red eyes studied Akainu, sensing his rising fighting spirit.
It shook its head and said, "Human, if you want treasure, I have none here."
"It does not matter. I only wish to test my current strength." Akainu replied in a deep voice.
"Is that so? Then follow me!" Sulong said.
Crackle! Crackle!
A burst of lightning flashed, and Sulong instantly moved to another location.
Its speed was astonishing, leaving Akainu stunned.
Fast! Incredibly fast!
This speed was not merely physical but reflected in its reaction time.
Though surprised, Akainu remained composed on the surface and followed Sulong away from the Mink tribe gathering.
"What about Sulong-sama!" a Mink tribe member called out.
Seeing Akainu leave with Sulong, the Mink tribe, who had no time to speak earlier, erupted in concern.
"Do not worry, continue to feel and absorb. Do not waste this opportunity." Shinko said.
"Sulong-sama's power is beyond your imagination." he reassured his worried tribesmen.
This time, Shinko had leveraged his relationship with Sulong to obtain its treasure, the Mythical Beast Contract Stone.
It was granted after passing a simple test.
Now, as the contract partner of the Mythical Beast Contract Stone, Shinko was troubled.
He did not consider contracting Sulong itself.
It was a blessing that Sulong allowed it. Contracting with it was a fanciful thought.
Truthfully, Shinko hoped Sulong would go to the Mokomo Dukedom and become the guardian beast of the Mink tribe.
However, he had already used his connections well.
Ultimately, Sulong helped the Mink tribe members here gain Mythical beast power.
It also improved their adaptability to Sulong form.
These actions enabled the Mink tribe to activate Sulong form without a full moon, and the activated form was stronger.
Some tribesmen, who would have lost sanity in Sulong form, could now maintain it.
Having done this, Shinko lacked the audacity to ask more of Sulong.
Looking toward the direction where Sulong and Akainu departed, he could only pray for Sulong's safety.
Given his status, he had only heard of the God Killer Equipment and did not know its specific power.
However, with such a name, he could not help but worry.
Of course, he was not entirely clear on Sulong's strength.
He only knew it was formidable, but not to what extent.
As Shinko prayed silently, Sulong and Akainu arrived at a deserted sandy expanse.
Looking at Sulong standing opposite him, Akainu turned his gaze to the gauntlet on his hand.
A dazzling red light began to shine, spreading across his body.
His clothes seemed draped in a layer of red gauze.
"Thirty percent power."
Instinctively, he knew he was at this stage of using the God Killer Equipment.
