The advantages of psionic abilities are obvious, as they entirely rely on the psychic power points transformed by the spiritual power of the psionic adept for spellcasting, without needing hand gestures or additional spellcasting materials, nor are they limited by spell slots.
As long as the psychic power points are sufficient, one can become a spell turret at will, continuously casting spells as desired.
Take the Psychic Fireball Technique for example: each time Gaven performs the lowest level version, it requires only six points, and the highest level version, though more powerful, requires only sixteen points, whereas he currently possesses as many as four hundred psychic power points—he could easily cast dozens in one go at least.
Of course, this is just a metaphor; using it this way would be extremely wasteful, as a Fireball Magic Wand could achieve similar effects.
