[3rd POV]
After the killing of the beings that sit in the Shadows, Gwen had spent the next two weeks preparing the ritual for its eventual use, and after a month of work had managed to complete the entirety of the ritual preparations.
The ritual itself had been completed and was ready to be used at any moment. She had her clones spread around the universe keeping an eye out on the ritual locations to make sure that nobody tries to interfere in it. As right now would be the worst possible moment for the ritual locations to be destroyed or changed.
While her clones had been preparing most of the ritual locations, Gwen had been traveling around universes in order to consume and conquer the remaining Kings in Black that she could find. With that month of work, she had managed to spread her clones out to do it at the same time as her.
And after a month she had managed to find and consume another 100 Kings in Black, getting ever so close to becoming similar to what God Emperor Doom was going to become. She hadn't yet, but she was certainly getting there.
Once she becomes Eternity and Infinity, it'd be even easier to hunt them down across the multiverse. Her power would rise further as she becomes a true abstract being that is a literal concept in and of itself.
And once she becomes a concept, Gwen was certain that her divinities would also grow to a conceptual level, making her embodiments of those concepts as well. Or something close to them at least.
She wasn't sure how that sort of thing worked, as it had never been done before. She could only assume for the future.
At the moment Gwen was in Malzif, preparing the other parts of her plans. Which mostly involved the Phoenix Blade she had stashed away, a blade that held a fraction of the Phoenix Force.
Aka one of the primary powers that she wanted to obtain. As with the phoenix force, her telepathic abilities would absolutely explode in power, especially telekinesis. But her other powers related to fire would also become conceptual in nature similar to that of the Phoenixes.
She imagined it would mesh well with most of her abilities too.
Staring at the Phoenix blade, Gwen reached her hand out and pressed her finger against it. Shutting her eyes, she breathed out and began to pull on it's connection to the speed force, hoping that the Phoenix will answer her call.
Sure, she already had the power of the Enigma Force which was incredible, but the Phoenix Force was just as amazing as the power of Captain Universe and the Starbrand. If not more, considering it was the personification of all psionic energy from the past, present, and future.
As she pulled on its connection, Gwen felt it, the warmth and the power rippling from it. Power being exuded from the Phoenix Force, as Gwen looked up with a smile on her face as the form of a phoenix was shown to her.
"You have called me, child?" The Phoenix's voice echoed, not deep or powerful, sounding quite human for once. Which was rare for a cosmic entity.
"Yes, I have. And we both know why it is that I have called you, Phoenix. We both know what I want from you. The question is whether or not you are going to agree to what it is I want" Gwen responded, knowing that the Phoenix knew exactly what she wanted to do.
"...You wish to become my host in order to fight back against what is coming, correct?" The Phoenix asked.
"Yes, that is correct. I wish to obtain as much power as humanly possible in order to stop what is coming, or what will come. And your power is one of the primary methods that I plan on doing that" Gwen responded, nodding with the words of the Phoenix.
"...And why should I agree for you to become my host? You are already quite powerful, and I already have a host in the form of Jean Grey" The Phoenix questioned.
"Because we both know that what is coming is far too much for her to handle. At the same time we both know that I am the absolute perfect host for you, even greater than that of Jean" Gwen responded, knowing that there was no better host than her.
And it would seem that the Phoenix agreed.
"You...are very lucky that you have asked me this question at the only time when I would truly be willing to accept. Had it been any sooner, and I would have said no. But in this case, with what is coming...I shall accept...host" The Phoenix said, as the phoenix began to glow brilliantly, an orange flame of incredible power beginning to exude from it.
And soon it began to turn into what was basically a beam of pure power, a beam that flew into Gwen, as she gasped. An orange and gold energy formed around her as the surroundings began to shake and warp underneath her power. Her eyes glowed brightly as she felt her psionic power begin to rapidly boost to entirely new levels of strength.
She already had powerful psionic ability beforehand, but this was on an entirely different level. It was like comparing a newborn child to a full grown adult or something.
Two different levels of power.
Which came with a quest completion.

Feeling the power flowing into her from her two new characters, Gwen silently shut her eyes, feeling the immense power of antimatter flowing into her being. The power of Beerus flowing through her at the same time.
Had she not controlled her power, she would have atomized the entire universe with just the tiny percentage of her power that was leaking. The power of anti-matter and destruction all combine to become something incredibly dangerous.
But also incredibly useful to her.
She just had to...you know, make sure not to end all of reality by accident or something.
'I must say, your mind is truly incredible, Gwen. And these other entities who preside here with me are certainly...interesting' The Phoenix said in her mind, impressed with the sheer amount of mental power that the girl had.
She truly was the best host she could ever have.
It was like she was made perfectly to be the host of anything and everything, like her body instantly grew and adapted to the power in order for her to utilize the full brunt of it without difficultly.
And it wasn't just her body, but also her mind that grew. Her soul was once again being strengthened, and at this point it was getting...a little ridiculous with how powerful it was. It was so strong that her soul was soon going to be able to interfere with reality itself, and even turn physical.
Which is a problem. Hence why becoming Eternity would solve that problem completely without it having a chance of coming back.
But now that she had her ritual preparation all done, was the host of the phoenix force, and has absorbed hundreds of Kings in Black, Gwen decided it was finally time to talk with Eternity and Infinity.
So, with that thought in her mind, Gwen teleported off, one thought on her mind.

Just a simple chapter of talking with the Phoenix and becoming it's host. The next few chapters will be slow, but that is because it is leading up to the final main arc against God Emperor Doom.
And once that arc is over with...well, this fic will be all but finished.
