"Are you even human still!?" Alucard complained.
"No, but that has nothing to do with why you can't hurt me." I said casually.
"Oh yeah and what might the actual reason be then?" Gion asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It's stats of course. You all should know that as your stats and levels go up you become stronger and faster and all that jazz to a supernatural level. When your endurance stat reaches a certain point the attacks below a certain threshold simply can't break through your bodies natural defenses. A good example is if two level fives were to throw a punch as hard as they could at each others faces they might bruise or break some bones but otherwise be fine. If one of those same level fives were to throw a similar punch at one of your heads it would pop like a zit." I said honestly.
"So basically we are just too weak to even hurt you at all then?" Sasha said with a frown.
"Yep. Don't feel too bad about it though my endurance stats are so high that most level fours would struggle to leave a scratch even if I were to stand still and let them attack me." I said with a grin.
"How are your stats so high if you are only level five?" Evrain asked curiously.
"Not much of a secret really. I have maxed out all of my stats for each level up and the max isn't S or SS but much higher. Add all those stats together and my real status is roughly equivalent to a level sevens and even then close to the peak of that level. I am literally the most powerful an adventurer could possibly be at the same level every time I level up and those stats stack." I explained with a shrug.
"That didn't really explain anything though?" Jin said confused.
I shook my head helplessly "I literally can't explain it in a better way for you since you just lack the experience and knowledge needed to understand it. You are all level ones and new ones at that. You haven't come to really understand just what stats mean for an adventurer yet. You'll probably only start to see it when you get close to level two at the earliest." I said seriously.
"Okay so how do we raise our stats like that then?" Alucard asked frowning.
"Training, life and death battles and a ridiculous amount of luck and resources. Frankly you should forget even trying. Bell and I are both freaks of nature and shouldn't be used as good examples of what the average adventurers growth looks like. That said I wouldn't say it's impossible to achieve on your own, just next to impossible. The falnas great about turning sheer fucking will and inhuman effort into advantages that otherwise wouldn't exist." I said honestly.
I didn't keep things static with their training though and on the third day when they all had a basic grasp of their weapons I turned up the heat. Rather than standing still I started to dodge and move forcing them to adapt. Sasha had it the worst as if I were to simply move in her path while she was trying to concurrent chant she'd lose all concentration and stumble in a panic. Concurrent chanting wasn't just running in a circle while casting a spell. It required active adjustment and movements based on the terrain and situation you were dealing with. I never had trouble with it because my chants were ultra short in length so I barely had to focus on them at all to pull it off, hers was not that easy.-
They weren't the only ones getting training though as Ottar was beating Bell down nearby as well. Haruhime was running laps while concurrent chanting her spell on everyone one by one. This was not new to her though as she had been training like this for some time now as her stats were atrocious. She was getting better now that she was actually training but it was pretty clear she was only talented in magic and had little hope for the physical stats.-
Still even if that was the case I insisted she raise up at least her agility and dexterity so she could at least dodge while using her spell. Training her magic stat was a pain in the ass though as she only had the one spell and it was not only wildly expensive to cast but also ridiculously long. I was forced to find the ancient falnaless magic spells for her to cast that were only ridiculously long but cheap since they were quite weak.-
As far as the others were concerned though they were improving with normal delves into the dungeon. Ophelia had raised her stats in all regards to at least (D) with her agility sitting at a pretty (B) as her favored method was to move fast and strike from stealth. She was a born assassin and it showed as she used her magic to fade away before ambushing her prey with single debilitating or fatal strikes at high speed. If she was forced to fight multiple monsters at once she always aimed for the one that seemed most dangerous to her before taking a cat and mouse approach like she was toying with the others as she always stayed just outside reach until an opportunity for a solid blow appeared.-
Lili was training herself based on her strength and endurance stats mostly as her transformation magic and buffing skill made her a tanky bruiser the heavier she was. By turning into solid metals she got a massive boost to her strength and endurance stats temporarily, a jump from (B) to (SS) even. That was on top of her already existing stats as well so the higher they were the harder she hit after transforming, a nice virtuous loop.
