An hour has passed and now all the members of the group are in their beds.
Joe-"Hey Julius?"
Julius-"Yeah?"
Joe-"Back when we were fighting those lava monsters, why did you use that strange matter attack? Couldn't you have just deconstructed them since you have more mana than them?"
Julius-"Yeah, I just wanted to test out my strange matter abilities. It's my method to take care of monsters with more mana than me. So even if I can't deconstruct them with omni particle control I can still convert them into strange matter"
Joe-"How many types of matter are there again?"
Julius-"Well there's normal matter, anti-matter, strange matter, and dark matter. There's also possibly exotic matter but that's more sci-fi than real science. The closest we have to it is the Casimir effect force where invisible particles exist in a vacuum between two objects and pull them together. Although magic already lets me bend the rules of particle physics so I've been trying to create some exotic matter for a while now. Also I-"
Julius's science rant get's interrupted by Adam's snore.
Joe-"You know, Elise isn't wrong about his snoring"
Julius-"Damion is able to sleep just fine. So how come you're still awake?"
Joe-"I don't know, I guess the time zone change since this island is really far away from the Kaiju Archipelago"
Julius-"Yeah, I think there's about a five hour difference. The sun hasn't set yet over there. But Adam, Elise, and Damion have always been pretty heavy sleepers so they got used to the change pretty quick"
Joe-"Well what are you gonna do tonight? I know you don't sleep, but you don't really need to keep watch for monsters attacking anymore"
Julius-"I don't know, I'm used to floating around on recon for monsters after doing it for so long but now... I guess maybe I'll just explore the forest of Yiltama. There could be some cool things out there"
Joe-"You know, I heard that there are actually still a lot of people moving around at night here. Because a lot of beastfolk are nocturnal they spend the day sleeping"
Julius-"Interesting, but Axolotls are nocturnal so wouldn't Marigold be sleeping during the day?"
Joe-"I think they can change what hours they sleep through practice"
Julius-"Makes sense, like humans who work night shifts"
Joe-"Yeah, hey Julius?
Julius-"What's up?"
Joe-"Do you, ever think I'll be as strong as the rest of you?"
Julius-"What do you mean? You're the one who took down the lava demon"
Joe-"I know but, it seems like everyone else on our team are insanely talented. I mean there's you who can do just about anything with your skills and you're pretty much S rank at this point. Then Damion with his dark magic, Marigold with her holy magic, and Adam and Elise who at this point could tear apart mountains. And I, can charge up an arrow with my evolved skill"
Julius-"It's a very powerful arrow"
Joe-"I was just hoping that I had some crazy hidden potential that I would unleash after training on the Kaiju Archipelago. But I don't"
Julius-"Joe I-"
Joe-"But don't get me wrong, I promise that I will do my best to help you guys. And I'll keep getting stronger"
Julius-"I appreciate it Joe"
Joe-"So do you-"
Joe yawns and rubs his eyes.
Joe-"Well looks like I'm finally getting tired"
Julius-"Goodnight Joe"
Joe-"Night Julius"
Joe turns over in his bed and drifts off to sleep.
Julius-"Well, I guess I'll go out exploring"
Julius floats out through a microscopic gap in under the window. As Julius floats away from the hotel two hooded figures appear outside of the hotel on the bottom floor. The two hooded figures look through the tiny window on the ground into the room that Marigold and Elise are staying in.
Hooded figure 1-"So the elf girl really is shrunken down to stay in there"
Hooded figure 2-"That changes nothing. Is your cloaking skill still active?"
Hooded figure 1-"Yes, nobody can see or hear us"
Hooded figure 2-"Good, then we'll proceed as planned"
The second hooded figure leans down and places their hand against the wall.
Hooded figure 2-"Medical skill: bisection"
The small room that's four feet in width, four feet in length, and two feet in height is cut out from the building without making a sound.
Hooded figure 2-"Next levitation skill: levitate object"
The room is then slowly levitated out of the building without waking Elise and Marigold inside.
Hooded figure 2-"Now use your cloaking skill on the room"
Hooded figure 1-"Cloak skill: undetectable"
The levitating room becomes invisible.
Hooded figure 1-"Illusion skill: still image"
The first hooded figure places an illusion on the window that makes the outside of the room still look like the forest. The two hooded figures then take the room with them into the forest.
Hooded figure 1-"I hope the doctor will be pleased with our success"
