A couple minutes earlier.
Joe-"We actually survived a year out here"
Elise-"What, you thought you wouldn't make it?"
Adam-"Couldn't blame him for being concerned, we had a run in with a few upper A rank monsters"
Elise-"Most of them were either B or lower A rank though, I could handle those by myself"
Marigold-"You couldn't of when we first got here"
Damion-"You almost got eaten a few times"
Marigold-"I had it under control"
Adam-"So Julius, did you get that new plan of yours all finished up?"
Julius-"Yes I did, robogolem 2.0 has been fully completed. And I've increased my mana by so much by being here that I can make a whole bunch of them"
Joe-"Why is it the robogolem 2 again? Shouldn't it be like number 10?"
Julius-"Well it went version 1.0 version then 1.1 and so on"
Joe-"Why?"
Julius-"That's just how you number things"
Damion-"No it isn't"
Julius-"It's how you number technology, I've explained this to both of you"
Marigold-"Who actually decided that?"
Julius-"It was an inventor named Tom Preston-Werner"
Elise-"Whatever, I'm just glad that we've gotten so much stronger, even Joe isn't so useless anymore. He's still the weakest though"
Joe-"Couldn't even just give me one compliment huh? I'm probably almost as strong as you were before we got here. Do you think you were weak before?"
Elise-"Well obviously yeah"
Joe-"(groans) of course you would think that"
Adam-"You want to summon some of your robogolems? A group of them make some good sparring partners"
Julius-"You know it's still disheartening to watch them get broken after I spent so much time developing them. Sure I can make them quickly but it still hurts"
A large boom sounding like a huge splash of water suddenly fills the air.
Elise-"Sounds like a big monster just appeared"
The group looks out into the horizon and sees that multiple giant lava monsters that look like sculpted statues have risen out of the water.
Damion-"They're far away"
Marigold-"We can get there in no time"
Joe-"Guys look!"
Joe points to the boat in front of the monsters.
Adam-"They're attacking the ship, it might be full of passengers. We have to help!"
Julius-"I'll launch us there. Special skill: particle accelerator bubble type!"
Julius creates large blue bubbles around everyone. He then launches himself and the rest of the group forward through the air at over 99% the speed of light. Julius himself changes his own course to hit one of the monsters to destroy it while he has the rest of his group land on the boat.
Magmordor-"...What?"
Julius-"Good thing you were flaunting your mana around so much. Made it easy to detect you"
The rest of the group acknowledges the man on the ship, they can tell from his high temperature and high mana that he's responsible for the monsters.
Elise-"You picked a bad time and place to show up. I've been looking for a new punching bag"
Magmordor-"How dare you destroy one of my masterpieces?!"
Adam-"Masterpieces? We've ran into plenty of monsters stronger than those back on the islands"
Magmordor-"(scoffs) it seems I'll have to teach you all some respect. Lava skill: sulfur serpents"
The demon captain creates multiple snake like clouds of black gas that move as if they're alive.
Magmordor-"Just one touch with them is a deadly poison. This is the end of you all"
The sulfur serpents fly forwards to attack the group.
Elise-"You use lava magic, that's cute"
Elise gets into a sprinting stance.
Elise-"Evolved skill: sun's blazing spear"
Elise blasts forward transforming into a beam of pure plasma traveling at light speed. She incinerates the sulfur serpents and strikes Magmordor in the chest. He is sent backwards while he grinds his feet into the wooden floor to slow himself down. He has a glowing hole in his stomach from Elise's strike.
Joe-"There's someone here who is injured!"
Julius-"I've got it!"
Julius flies down to guard 1 who has a bad burn mark from a lava blast.
Julius-"It'll be okay, healing skill: heal others"
Julius uses his healing skill and the man's burns go away.
Guard 1-"Thank you, are you adventurers from the Kaiju Archipelago?"
Julius-"Yeah, don't worry we have this guy under control"
Magmordor-"Under control!? You dare mock me like I'm some kind of animal"
The hole in Magmordor's stomach begins to heal.
Magmordor-"I'll melt you all down to ashes"
Damion-"Wouldn't it be 'burn you to ashes' not 'melt'?"
Magmordor-"Shut up! Just shut up and die!"
The giant lava monsters begins closing in on the ship.
Magmordor-"The wasteland that I'll make this world into has no space for the likes of you"
Marigold-"Seems like he can heal himself, based on those horns I would say he's a demon"
Julius-"If I remember correctly, you said demon's have a core in their body right? And that the only way to kill a demon is to destroy that core?"
Marigold-"That's right, and depending on how strong the demon is, the more damage you have to do to that core"
Adam-"A weak demon's core just needs to be broken. A strong demon's core needs to be reduced to sand"
Magmordor-"It seems you know your stuff. Unfortunately for you, I'm one of the strongest demons there is"
Joe-"Not really much to brag about when there aren't many demons left"
Elise-"Yeah, you don't seem as strong as the demon king's generals probably were. And there were what? A couple dozen of them?"
Magmordor-"That's enough!"
Magmordor's aura grows with immense magical power and enough heat to begin burning the boat.
Adam-"So should I take care of the lava monsters?"
Julius-"Nah, I'll take care of them. You guys just deal with him. Shouldn't be much trouble"
Magmordor-"Don't be so-"
Adam-"Evolved skill: moon's gravitational slash"
Adam creates a slash of pure gravity that cuts Magmordor clear down the middle then smashes the two pieces together.
Magmordor(in his head)-"Impossible, each of them, is stronger than a demon lord's captain! This is bad, but I still have a few tricks up my sleeve"
