Commentator 1: "That Dragonite… it's radiating power like nothing we've seen! This isn't the same one from the quarterfinals! The aura alone is making the air heavy!"
Commentator 2: "Mega Blastoise versus this monster Dragonite this is the battle of the semifinals! Two titans! Two legacies! No holding back!"
The crowd was on its feet screaming, chanting, phones recording every second.
Amber: "Big brother's Dragonite looks so strong! He's glowing!"
Delia: "Come on, Ash… be careful…"
Daisy: "That dragon is huge! Smash that Mega thing!"
Cynthia: "Dragonite's aura… it's overwhelming. This is no ordinary battle."
Professor Birch: "That power… it's like the legends of old dragons awakening…"
Norman: "Ash is holding nothing back. This is pure determination."
Wulfric: "Ice would freeze that water… but fire and dragon… this is raw."
Ritchie: "Come on, Ash… don't let the Mega steal the show."
Gary opened with a roar. "Hydro Cannon triple blast! Full power!"
Mega Blastoise's three cannons charged simultaneously bright blue energy swirling like whirlpools inside each barrel. The hum grew louder, deeper, until it vibrated through the stands. Then three massive water beams fired in perfect unison, converging into one devastating torrent that tore across the field like a tsunami. The water pressure was so intense it carved furrows in the mud before it even reached Dragonite.
Ash's voice cut through the roar like a blade. "Dragon Rush meet it head-on!"
Dragonite's body ignited with dragon energy blue-white flames wrapping around her like living armor. She launched forward, wings beating with thunderous force that sent gusts of wind rippling across the field. She plowed straight into the triple Hydro Cannon barrage.
Water exploded in every direction waves crashing against the barriers, drenching the front rows again. Dragonite kept coming, roaring through the flood, dragon energy blazing brighter with every meter she gained.
They collided dead-center.
Dragon Rush slammed into Mega Blastoise's armored chest with the force of a meteor. The impact rang like a gong shockwaves rippling outward, cracking the already-damaged field further. Mega Blastoise skidded back several feet, cannons firing wildly, but the armor held. Blastoise roared in defiance and countered with Flash Cannon a concentrated beam of steel energy that lanced through the spray.
Dragonite took the hit full-force scales smoking, body knocked sideways mid-air. She spun, wings beating furiously to stabilize, and countered with Dragon Claw claws glowing green, slashing across Blastoise's armor plates. Sparks flew. A deep gash appeared on the reinforced shell.
The crowd was losing its collective mind.
"THEY'RE BOTH MONSTERS!"
"DRAGONITE TOOK THAT HIT AND KEPT GOING!"
"MEGA BLASTOISE IS UNSTOPPABLE!"
Gary: "Skull Bash crush him!"
Mega Blastoise lowered his head, shell spinning like a drill. He charged forward massive, unstoppable, triple cannons still smoking.
Ash: "Dragon Tail whip him!"
Dragonite spun mid-air, tail glowing blue-white, whipping around like a whip. The tail slammed into Blastoise's side with a thunderclap that echoed through the stadium. Mega Blastoise staggered sideways, but kept charging Skull Bash connecting with Dragonite's chest.
Dragonite roared in pain body thrown back, crashing into the mud. She slid across the field, leaving a trench, but immediately pushed up with her wings, shaking off the impact. Mud flew from her scales as she took to the air again.
Ash sent a powerful Aura pulse to Dragonite: You're stronger than him. Use the field. We end this now.
Dragonite roared wings flaring. She climbed higher, circling above the battlefield.
Gary: "Triple Hydro Pump pin her down!"
Mega Blastoise fired three high-pressure streams sweeping across the sky like searchlights. Dragonite dodged two, twisting through the air with impossible agility, but the third clipped her wing. She spun, scales burning, but recovered with Extreme Speed blurring forward like lightning.
Dragonite slammed into Mega Blastoise with Extreme Speed body crashing against armored shell. Blastoise grunted, pushed back, but countered with Iron Defense armor hardening further, plates thickening.
Ash: "Draco Meteor rain it down!"
Dragonite roared to the sky. A storm of dragon-energy meteors formed overhead glowing orbs of blue-white power. They rained down like a meteor shower.
Mega Blastoise endured the first wave armor cracking, cannons firing Hydro Pump to shoot some meteors out of the air. But the barrage was too much. Meteors slammed into his shell, his legs, his cannons. Each impact rang like thunder. Cracks spread across the armor. Blastoise roared in pain.
Gary: "Hydro Cannon one more time!"
Mega Blastoise charged one final, desperate triple Hydro Cannon. The barrels glowed brighter than ever energy swirling violently.
Ash: "Dragon Rush through it!"
Dragonite dove dragon energy blazing straight into the beam. Water exploded around him, but he kept coming, roaring through the torrent. Her body glowed brighter dragon aura intensifying.
She slammed into Mega Blastoise dead-center.
The impact was apocalyptic.
Shockwaves rippled outward. The field cracked. Water and dragon energy exploded in a blinding flash.
Mega Blastoise staggered backward armor shattered in places, cannons smoking, legs trembling.
Dragonite hovered in front of him wings beating, eyes fierce.
Gary: "Blastoise Iron Defense! Hold!"
Mega Blastoise hardened again armor reforming but Dragonite didn't wait.
Ash: "Draco Meteor combo finish it!"
Dragonite roared once more. Another storm of meteors rained down faster, denser, more powerful than before. Mega Blastoise tried to endure firing Hydro Pump to intercept but the meteors broke through.
One after another slammed into him chest, arms, cannons, legs.
Blastoise roared defiant to the end but his legs buckled.
He dropped to one knee.
Then the other.
With a final, thunderous crash, Mega Blastoise collapsed forward onto the muddy field.
The referee's flags shot up.
"Mega Blastoise is unable to battle! Ash Ketchum wins the semifinal!"
The stadium detonated louder than ever before.
Ash had advanced to the finals.
Gary recalled Blastoise, staring at the ball for a long moment. His shoulders slumped slightly the fight drained from him but he lifted his head with pride.
He walked across the field.
They met in the center hands clasping firmly.
Gary's smirk was gone replaced by genuine respect. "You… you really did it, Ashy-boy. That Dragonite… that power… I couldn't keep up."
Ash smiled. "You pushed me to my limit, Gary. That Mega Blastoise was insane. Thanks for the fight."
Gary laughed short, real. "Next time… I'll win."
Ash nodded. "I'll be waiting."
Gary turned, waved to the crowd one last time, and walked off head high.
Ash stood alone in the center of the battlefield, rain washing over him, the entire stadium chanting his name.
Then the soft chime only he heard.
[Ding!]

Ash's eyes widened. A small, surprised smile spread across his face.
