Mavis was filled with fear as she gazed at the being that had cursed her as well as the Zeref which indirectly resulted in the death of countless beings throughout the years.
But fear did not stump the intellect she had, which worked many times stronger than it usually did to try and find out what was happening.
Zeref had just appeared suddenly near her grave in Tenrou island. She was worried that the attack happening had something to do with him, and just as she slightly touched him, the death god appeared and trapped them both using pure death energy.
Mavis was of the belief that her current form was just made from her illusion magic, but currently she was able to feel pain from the barrier created by Ankselam, making her realise that her current form was actually more than just the manifestation of her magic.
Plus, the subsequent conversation between Zeref and Ankseram also made her realise a lot of things as well.
'Karna was Ankhseram the enemy you were preparing for' Mavis immediately connected the dots on her head. She realised why Karna had not confided in her, the chance of Ankhseram finding the truth through her was very high since he was the one who had cursed her all those years ago.
Ankhseram smiled hearing Zeref curse at him but then he froze and slowly turned around and looked straight at Grimoire heart's ship.
"So here he was, the anomaly that destroyed the fate predicted by the oracle all those years ago" he muttered in a serious voice but then smirked "Oh, it seems like he is about to unlock ascension towards being a god. How arrogant for a boy who had not reached three decades to encroach upon my domain"
He then looked at the aura being spread from the ship and laughed out loud.
"Haha what do you know, he's going to be the reason for the death of all of his friends and family. I wonder how he will handle that, maybe he might kill himself and rid myself off the headache of killing him later" he muttered.
Mavis froze as she realised what was happening, she was also able to feel what was happening to the wizards on the island as well. She realised that sensing Karna's current condition will lead to their deaths.
Zeref was fighting to break out of the trap as well. He knew Karna was Mavis's child and making him go through the same torture he went through with the curse is something that he was not willing to tolerate. He tried his best to break out but was unable to as the hold Ankseram had on him was too strong.
Mavis at the time managed to find out a way for Karna to not fall into this trap. She realised that Ankhseram had only trapped this ethereal body of hers right now. She still had a lot of magic saved up in her grave.
She immediately channelled her magic in her grave to send a message into the mind of every single wizard in the island to stop them from dying by Karna's hands.
"Hey you!!" Ankhseram realised it too late and only managed to trap Mavis's magic after she delivered the message.
Within a few seconds, a golden wave of magic spread all throughout the island, severing the senses of every wizard from connecting to Karna and saved them from dying at Karna's aura.
Mavis smiled widely in triumph while looking at the annoyed expression in Ankhseram's face. Zeref too had a smile as he tried to break out of the barrier currently trapping him.
At the same time in the ship.
Hades was fully concentrated on making this strike the strongest he has ever made. The extreme concentration helped him escape from the dangerous effect of the death aura currently being emitted by Karna.
Karna at the time realised that his aura was reached a form that was deadly to people who even dared to sense him right now. He immediately stopped the ascension forcefully as he still had Hades to deal with right now. Plus, the way Mavis shouted, Karna knew something was wrong. So, he decided to stop this fight quickly.
"Are you ready my child?" Hades asked while holding out his trembling hand. The strike had taken all that he had in him. His devil heart had completely shrivelled, his face was pale and he knew he can only say goodbye to his arm after today.
"Do it" Karna replied while condensing the death energy to form a shield in front of him that was layered into his armour. He put forward both of his arms while preparing to use a black flash, he was planning on attacking Hades's attack the moment it breaks through the shield .
"Finger Pistol, final annihilation" Hades named his magic that will cost his entire limb.
For a moment there was silence.

The inhuman sound of an attack created by one of the strongest mage in all of Earthland revibrated throughout the world.
In Alvarez, Irene stood up as she sensed a level of attack that might even have the ability to kill her.
August suddenly appeared near her.
"Did you sense that Irene?" he asked.
"Yes, yes I did, but what makes me more curious is the fact that our majesty's last known location was near to where the attack had occurred right now" Irene replied with a serious expression.
August tightened his hold on his staff.
"The attack may be strong, but it still won't be enough to kill lord Spriggan due to his curse" he paused "but even then I still fell like there is something wrong"
Irene nodded as well.
"I'll leave within a few minutes after I lock down on the co-ordinates of that attack. But I will wait a few more minutes for the battle there to subside" Irene said to which August nodded in agreement.
At the same time, back in the Tenrou island.
When hades made the attack, he believed that Karna will be killed by the attack. But it was only after launching the attack did he feel the regret of using it at a junior who was destined to heights that he can never even see.
But right now, Hades realised that he had actually hoped for Karna to survive the attack, to prove to him that the power he gained while walking through this dark path was wrong.
"You…you survived. Thank god" he muttered as he gazed at the boy standing tall before him.
