After Mark Reed finished his meal, Valentine Teller personally brewed a pot of tea for him.

The two sat in the yard, drinking tea and chatting.

Going shopping with the nanny at Costco every week was her happiest time because she could see many people.

Supermarkets in America were mostly warehouse-style, fully stocked with everything from food to clothing and living necessities, with a wide variety.

Residents drove to shop, buying at least a week's worth of food and essentials.

Valentine Teller really liked American milk; a gallon cost only twenty dollars and could be drunk like water.
